Yantai Yangma Island Seaview Castle Homestay (Huandao Road)

The hotel has a fantastic location. It's right across from Yangma Island's classic photo spot. The castle-shaped design makes for great pictures. The front desk staff were very welcoming, especially the young man who showed us to our room; he was incredibly attentive and helpful. The room was small, with a cramped shower and toilet. For a room costing over 1200 RMB, the toiletries were really cheap and unusable, and the room only provided two bath towels and one floor mat. No hand towels or small face towels were provided. The cleanliness was so-so; there were still black stains on the sheets. The soundproofing was terrible; we could clearly hear the guests in the next room talking in the hallway. The breakfast for the 1200+ RMB room was a set meal. It included a steamed bun, a bowl of rice porridge, a boiled egg, and a bowl of boiled noodles soaked in water for you to eat as you like. The lady at breakfast had a bad temper. The initial surprise of the castle-shaped design was completely ruined by the room's details and the breakfast.

I came expecting a high-end room, and the room description said it would be 50-53 square meters. However, besides a double bed, there was practically no room to move around; it was probably only a dozen square meters at most – a clear case of misleading advertising. The bathroom, in particular, was incredibly small; you could barely move your legs. I hope the hotel staff can experience it for themselves; I really don't know how it was designed. The outdoor terrace was quite large with a decent view, but shouldn't that be included in the room's area? The hotel breakfast was also very simple and ordinary: steamed buns, noodles, porridge, boiled eggs, and pickled vegetables – that was it. Overall, it was all show and no substance, and the stay was not very pleasant.

My stay at the guesthouse during this trip to Yantai can only be described as terrible. 1. The room was tiny, about the size of a 20-square-meter chain hotel room. The environment was cramped, and the decor looked cheap, not at all like a room with a minimum price of 500 yuan. 2. When I entered the room and wanted a drink of water, I checked the production date and found it was June 22, 2024—only 28 days away from expiration. I usually like Jing Tian brand mineral water. 1. We reported the issue to the guesthouse manager, who replied that all their products were within their shelf life, but then offered no further assistance. 2. The room's soundproofing was terrible. I was woken up around 5 AM by what sounded like an alarm clock or a phone ringing, but my own phone wasn't ringing. It was clearly the neighbor's or upstairs phone ringing, severely impacting our daytime experience on Yangma Island. 3. The guesthouse breakfast was very mediocre. I only ate two bites of the steamed buns; they were awful. They didn't offer noodles or dumplings. 4. Regarding driving or renting electric scooters on the island, the guesthouse manager kept emphasizing that parking on the roadside was illegal due to frequent traffic cameras. They recommended renting their reliable electric scooters, which cost about twice as much as outside. They also warned against renting **scooters** because they were unsafe and prone to being caught by the traffic police (450 NTD fine). Ultimately, we insisted on driving around the island ourselves and found that the roadsides were always parked, with no traffic police in sight. **Scooter riders were everywhere, and no one was wearing helmets, yet none of them were caught or fined 450 NTD. In conclusion, this guesthouse is at best a 200-300 RMB option. The lowest price starting at 500 RMB is a huge rip-off. I'm posting this to warn everyone to avoid this place. You'd be better off staying at other guesthouses in the 200-300 RMB range, or a chain hotel not far from the island.

酒店的位置非常好，離獐島走路10幾分鐘，海蝕洞就在酒店門口附近。房間設施很新，床品舒適度很高，服務也做的很好，強烈推薦。附近的餐廳海鮮味道不錯。下次再到養馬島玩會繼續選擇這裏入住。養馬島風景太漂亮，玩的好開心捨不得走。

風景很美，房間整潔乾淨還很温馨，老闆體貼周到。此次來有點倉促，希望夏天暖和時候再來好好逛逛養馬島！
