Capital Suites Yellowknife

I stayed twice at Capital Suites in Yellowknife over the past month for work-related travel. While the location is convenient, several aspects of the stay made the experience less comfortable than expected. The building is not very accessible, as there is no ramp, no automatic doors at the main entrance, and no help. Complimentary drinking water was also unavailable, with bottles available for purchase at $4 each. The non-AC rooms become quite stuffy, and opening the windows for airflow unfortunately brings in outside noise. My room’s doorstopper was broken, there were no glasses or disposable cups provided, and there were no alarm clocks in the room, either, which can be inconvenient for travelers with early schedules. Shuttle service also seemed limited, especially for early-morning flights, which added some stress to travel planning. In addition, the front desk staff often appeared uninterested when asked questions, which did not create a very welcoming atmosphere. Overall, the hotel’s strongest feature is its convenient location, but there is considerable room for improvement in accessibility, guest amenities, transportation support, and customer service

Sufficient for a short stay but not really suitable/comfortable enough for a long stay. Very noisy, few amenities.

Our room was extremely hot which made sleeping very difficult. The thermostat was set to low and the heat just kept pumping. The manager came up and tried to open the window but was unable and he was also unable to turn the heat down. Very expensive night to sit in bed and sweat and not sleep.

Room had.some issues- unable to open window but given fans. Hot water.leaked in tub whole time. Staff and manager amazing. All staff friendly and helpful. Requests met with smiles and effectively met.

The room was modest but very clean and comfortable! The building was very secure. The heating was excellent if not even too warm.

The walls are thin and I was woken up multiple nights by other guests yelling & arguing. Shower water not hot enough. When cleaners made the bed, on one of the days they only made the top layer and forgot the sheet underneath.
