Hongcun Shangshanruoshui Homestay

The B&B is conveniently located within walking distance of Moon Lake, yet it's surprisingly quiet despite being in a bustling area. The landlady was incredibly warm and welcoming; she offered us watermelon as soon as we arrived on a hot day and even gave us some rice wine in the evening. Before we left, she also gave us some local specialties. We chose a twin room on the second floor with a balcony, which was great for sitting out and taking photos. The room was very clean, and we slept wonderfully. The B&B has three floors, and I also got to see the double room on the third floor – the higher floor definitely offers better views. I looked at several B&Bs online and in person, and I'm really glad I chose this one. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit.

Staying at the Hongcun Shangshan Ruoshui B&B was a fantastic experience! The room was clean and tidy, beautifully decorated to be cozy and comfortable, with incredible attention to detail. The owner was warm and thoughtful, offering a delicious complimentary breakfast and even preparing lovely souvenirs. They were so kind and genuine. I felt completely at home and at ease throughout my stay. I highly recommend this B&B if you're visiting Hongcun!

This was my first time in Southern Anhui, and I had no itinerary. We decided to stay in Hongcun, and ended up having a much better-than-expected experience! The owners are locals who grew up in the village, but the guesthouse is decorated very much to the taste of first-tier cities – clean, comfortable, and fully equipped. Location: It's right next to the West Village entrance of the scenic area, with a parking lot 🅿️. The 500-year-old tree at the village entrance is very close to the guesthouse (the South Gate would be a long detour). Breakfast: We are a family of three, and there were options for kids. It was very substantial (see pictures). Cleanliness: Also 5 stars 🌟! They have toilet sanitizers and disposable toilet seat covers, and even anti-stain laundry detergent. Dining: There are restaurants within walking distance in the village. I recommend eating at the local village restaurants; they are authentic and affordable. Outside restaurants might serve a bit faster, though. I highly recommend this place; I'll definitely come back next time!

Our stay was fantastic! The owners are a lovely, down-to-earth couple. The place was spotlessly clean, newly renovated, and had no weird smells. Being right inside the scenic area made getting around really easy, and there were tons of local eateries nearby. They even provided pick-up and drop-off service, which was a nice touch. The restaurant they recommended was delicious too. It's a shame I forgot to take photos of the room!

Choosing this guesthouse for my trip to Hongcun was such a pleasant surprise! The location is absolutely perfect; step outside and you're right by Moon Pond and South Lake. Open the window and you're greeted with views of traditional Huizhou ancient buildings with their white walls and black tiles. In the evening, the 'blue hour' provides the perfect ambiance for photos – you don't even need to go far to capture those picturesque ink-wash landscape shots. The courtyard is quiet and elegant, exuding Huizhou charm with its natural wood and stone walls. Sitting in the courtyard, enjoying the breeze and a cup of tea, is incredibly relaxing. The room was spotlessly clean, the bedding soft and comfortable, and all the amenities were complete, making for a very comfortable stay. The owners are incredibly warm and attentive. They met me at the village entrance and took the time to explain the best routes for exploring Hongcun and even shared some lesser-known photo spots. The local farmhouse dishes they recommended were authentic and great value. In the morning, you can explore the quiet ancient village before the crowds arrive, and at night, you're away from the hustle and bustle of the market. The whole experience was absolutely perfect. Whether you're traveling solo or with companions, this place is ideal and offers incredible value for money. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Hongcun. Highly recommended!

This was a true family trip, bringing both my parents and children to Hongcun. To ensure everyone, especially the elderly and kids, stayed comfortably, I carefully screened options on the platform and chose 'Shangshan Ruoshui.' It later proved to be an excellent decision. First, the owner and his wife were incredibly thoughtful. From the moment we arrived at the West Gate parking lot, the owner picked us up in his golf cart, drove my parents and our luggage directly to the scenic area entrance, and then personally escorted us to the guesthouse. When we left, he provided the same return service, completely eliminating the hassle of dragging luggage around to find our accommodation. The owner is also very honest, and his recommendations for dining and sightseeing were spot on. His wife is lively, hospitable, and a great conversationalist; we enjoyed a wonderful chat together. The guesthouse itself boasts top-notch soft and hard amenities. It's impeccably clean—I'd say the cleanest I've ever seen! The interior is filled with rustic and elegant Huizhou-style architecture, and the views of the distant mountains are so comforting and relaxing, making you want to sit and daydream forever. The first few pictures show the view from the second-floor balcony – guests can truly appreciate it. The guesthouse's location is superb, just a two to three-minute walk from Yueyao and the main commercial street, and five to ten minutes from Nanhu, making it very convenient to reach all the main attractions. Shangshan Ruoshui Guesthouse, just like its name, embodies 'the highest good is like water.' May all destined travelers meet here.
