Xidi Miao Shang Ju · Fangyuan Vacation Homestay

This guesthouse is a beautiful Huizhou-style mansion. The courtyard is stunningly decorated, and the rooms are wonderfully quiet. The owner even provides pick-up and drop-off service from the parking lot. Its location is superb, making it incredibly convenient for dining out and sightseeing. What's more, you can also enjoy meals right here at the guesthouse. Overall, it's a fantastic place to stay. Xidi, in my opinion, is the most worthwhile ancient town I've visited in years, and this guesthouse is perfect for a comfortable multi-day stay.

The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. You can truly feel the thought and effort they put into running this guesthouse, from the excellent service to the meticulous design and amenities. The owner is also an amazing cook; almost every dish on the menu was a hit! Their signature 'stinky' mandarin fish is personally cured by the owner and is distinctly different from what you'd find elsewhere – much less pungent and far more flavorful. Choosing to stay here made our entire trip to Xidi absolutely perfect. We definitely hope to come back for a longer, more relaxing stay.

Facilities: The in-room facilities are all brand new and kept very clean and tidy. The owner maintains the courtyard beautifully. Hygiene: Someone cleans and disinfects the rooms every day, which made me feel completely at ease during my stay. Environment: When I first booked, I was quite concerned about false advertising – perhaps the environment wouldn't be good or the photos wouldn't match reality – so I only booked one night. However, upon arrival, I was wonderfully surprised! I immediately decided to extend my stay for a second night! It's a shame my travel plans were tight and I could only stay two nights; I truly wished I could have stayed longer! It's incredibly comfortable, and I hope to come back for a few days every year if I get the chance! Service: The B&B is run by the owner couple themselves, creating a very comfortable and homely atmosphere. After parking at lot #7, the owner will come pick you up in a shuttle. They also have a quiet dog named 'Laifu'~~ The owner likely cooks as well, but unfortunately, I didn't get to try their food this time! I definitely want to taste their cooking on my next visit! I forgot to take photos of the B&B 📷~~ So I can only post some pictures of Xidi Ancient Village, but staying here was truly wonderful~~

Great location – not directly in Xidi's main area, making it wonderfully peaceful. The courtyard is beautiful, home to little fish, a lovely dog named Laifu, and a playful cat that can even climb the roof beams! We stayed on the second floor and had a fantastic view of the distinct Ming and Qing dynasty architecture. The interior decor was beautifully done and incredibly comfortable. A big thank you to the guesthouse hosts, who were incredibly welcoming and warm. Definitely plan to return!

Our room was clean, and from the second-floor window, we enjoyed views of traditional Huizhou-style rooftops. The owner's small courtyard is beautifully maintained. We had dinner there, and with the gentle breeze, the sound of rain, and sipping tea, it was truly idyllic. The Stinky Mandarin Fish with tofu and local wild vegetables prepared by the owner were all incredibly delicious!

The guesthouse features a charming, rustic courtyard and an elegant ambiance. The owner is incredibly warm and hospitable. The rooms themselves are a perfect blend of elegance and modern comfort, equipped with amenities like a Dyson hairdryer, a smart toilet, and a Xiaomi projector screen TV. This is absolutely a top-tier B&B. A highlight was even being able to photograph the Milky Way from the courtyard at night!
