EVEN Hotel YINING by IHG

The hotel is beautifully located by the Yining River, and the room was very clean. Absolutely fantastic!

This was my favorite hotel during my trip to Yili. It was beautiful and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. My only complaint is that it's a bit far from the Liuxing Street area, and getting a taxi can be really difficult.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I booked for a total of ten nights and regretted paying for the remaining nights upfront on the first day because I arrived too late and was too tired to bother with it. As a result, all three rooms had terrible views of a wasteland. And then there's the birthday amenity issue. Other hotels would decorate for your birthday week or even month, but when I mentioned it over the phone, they specifically emphasized that we were staying until the 29th, which wasn't my actual birthday. It's only two days apart, is that really an issue? Couldn't some guests just have vacation during that time and celebrate early? It really put me in a bad mood, even though they eventually decorated the bed with a small elephant and birthday message (thanks to the staff who did that). Finally, we went to Sayram Lake for two days in the middle of our stay. When we returned, perhaps because it was late, there was no bellhop to help with our luggage on both check-ins. That's fine, but then when we checked out in the afternoon, there was still no bellhop to help with our luggage. Maybe I should apply to be a bellhop at your hotel – such a leisurely job with such early off-hours, teach me your ways! 🙃 Please see the picture, there's not a single person at the entrance in broad daylight. I suspect the purpose of Even Hotels is to make guests at the Intercontinental next door feel like they got their money's worth, and to make guests at Even Hotels feel so unbearable that they switch to the Intercontinental next door 🙃. I will never stay here again.

The room was very cozy, and when we checked in late at night, fruit was already waiting for us. When we had an issue, the hotel staff actively helped us resolve it. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yining.

Overall, the hotel is quite good – very clean and comfortable. It's close to the Yili River, about a 10-minute taxi ride to watch the sunrise. The location isn't ideal, though. It takes about half an hour to get to both the airport and the train station. I asked for a quiet room, but initially, I was given a room right by the road. The view of a wasteland outside the window was also quite depressing. I had to repeatedly ask them to change rooms before they finally moved me. All calls default to the main switchboard, not the front desk. I got the impression the switchboard staff were quite frustrated too. Their attitude was good, but they couldn't help with things like delivery updates as they weren't aware of them.

The hotel is great, and the service is excellent. I'd say the decor style is quite popular among the middle class—young, vibrant, and well-designed. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Yining. The breakfast was also incredibly rich with many options.

The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, always ready to assist with anything. The hotel's decor is modern and youthful, incorporating some local Xinjiang elements. The room was quite unique, even equipped with various yoga props. It was a little on the small side though, making it a bit tight if you have a lot of luggage.

The hotel's location is extremely convenient for those who come for the marathon every year. However, for tourists, its proximity to popular city attractions and overall transportation convenience might be a bit far.

Quite comfortable! I booked this hotel on the fly for a race, and it definitely helped me achieve a personal best. The location is super convenient, close to Liuxing Street and the Yili River scenic area. The whole place feels high-end and luxurious, totally worth it. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in town.
