The trip to Yosemite was special and the Ahwahnee is located perfectly. Hotel room and cabin were superb. Thanks Trip.com

This place is a dump! The most uncomfortable hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was 85 degrees with windows open despite it being 45 degrees outside. When I tried to get help all they told me was to turn down the thermostat-like I hadn’t already tried that! No one answers phones for help, the beds are uncomfortable and overall the place looks like it hasn’t been taken care of since it was built nearly 100 years ago. Awoke to loud noise at 6 am that continues through the day. And all this for $600/night! The food here was ok, but $100 / person for a buffet?! Really?! I definitely would NOT recommend this place! You would be better off being tour own tent and taking your chances with the wildlife.

Our stay was so incredibly underwhelming! From the moment we stepped out to “Valet Only” our experience was less than enjoyable. The registration hosts were anything but welcoming. The rooms are just sad. The towels may have been white when the hotel was built in 1927, but they are grey and tiny. The carpeting is well beyond its use. We knew when we booked that the hotel was undergoing renovations. We had no idea there would be jack hammers going 9 hours a day. No adjustment in the room charge for continual noise heard in your room, but more importantly outside on the grounds of the hotel. The organic beauty in Yosemite is beyond words. The Ahwanee is just not.

Unconscionable that this hotel accepts reservations while undergoing construction. But it's only from 7 am to 5 pm....still charging full price w inconvenience of jack hammers, closed areas, including the pool. After a long and wonderful hike, just wanting a nap before dinner and impossible with the constant high decibal noise. We booked through a third party and were unable to cancel. Paying over $900 a night for this experience. Shame on the owners for continuing to take money when they should shut this place down until they can properly host their guests.

Historical hotel was comfortable and clean, but very warn down common areas. Food was a big let down - especially for the cost. A small number of staff wear miserable faces and attitudes. We left feeling bummed out.

Of course this hotel is iconic and should be amazing. But it's also almost 100 years old! The views are incredible and the history in Yosemite Valley awe inspiring. But the facility itself is very tired and even run down - badly in need of refurbishment. For example, the wallpaper in our room was torn, the tile grout in the bathroom was dingy and discolored, the grout had mildew, and the pain on the doors was dirty. Please upgrade this beautiful property. But our greatest disappointment was with the service. We heard multiple times that they were understaffed (as if that is supposed to make it okay to pay for 4-star service and receive 1/2-star service at best). Valet was required at $30/day, yet on entering one day there were 15 cars in line and only 2 valets working. When we were told we could pull to the front of the line we did so and to be helpful we parked our car and gave the keys to the valet who proceeded to exhort us for doing so. We were paying $30 to do their job! In the sweet shop while we waited in line, the checker proceeded to overlook us and help an employee instead. At 11pm we were awakened by an employee walkie-talkie in the hallway outside our room. As we left carrying multiple pieces of luggage through the lobby, two employees stood by and didn't even help by holding open the doors. All of this to say, the employees are not just "understaffed" but badly in need of some training in 4-star service. For the prices the hotel charges, customers deserve bett

The Ahwahnee must have been quite a jewel in its prime. Unfortunately it is in need of an update. Dated room, uncomfortable bed, no water in room. There is only one elevator which results in long wait times. Furniture in common areas is soiled and dining options are limited, with food mediocre. The saving grace is its location.

Everything is expensive at this hotel, so you just have to accept that. The mandatory valet parking could be cheaper and still be effective. The hotel is beautiful and clean with lots of neat spaces to relax and enjoy the scenery and historic surroundings. The food was excellent. Our room wasn’t ready at check in, and we had to wait an additional 30 minutes. The staff could have offered us a complimentary drink, instead he was terribly rude. Overall we enjoyed our once in a lifetime stay here, but it does feel like the concessionaire takes financial advantage of people wanting to experience this piece of history.
