Hotel Varres

Not very attentive to cleanliness, absolutely avoid half board... Low quality of food and limited choice of staff (one) who was not very attentive and acted as bartender and waiter. Aware that it was not a 5 star hotel…. But I wouldn't even give it 3 stars.

The hotel is actually simple but has everything you need. Very good cafe and pool, has elevator, parking, excellent service with tips on tours, important information. Good bed and shower, my only complaint is that the shower is strong but it gets the bathroom quite wet.

Strategic location for visiting Zakynthos. They are a 1.5km outside of Zante town. From the hotel you can visit the whole island due to its location in Zakynthos, which is central. The structure is immersed in an olive grove and transmits a lot of tranquility. The room is more than sufficient in size and is cleaned well every day. The air conditioner works well. , but positioned next to the bed, it is not pleasant at night. At the reception, especially Mr Dennis, they are very helpful, they also have a towel service which you can ask for every day and return when you return from the beaches in the evening. The swimming pool is beautiful , large, functional, we found a few too many wasps. You need a vehicle if you book here (but a vehicle is still needed to visit the island)

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel in early July 2023 with a social tourism voucher. I had 5 nights. I only stayed 1 night and left. The hotel has 2 buildings. The renovated one next to the pool which I have no opinion on and the main complex the oldest. They had informed me from the beginning that they would put me in the old, ground floor with a view of the garden. I had also seen a photo of the room on the internet and I liked it. But when you get to the room, at first glance you say it's okay. But staying from noon when we checked in until the morning of the next day when we left, I noticed the following: the room was dirty. All over the walls mosquitoes killed. The bathroom or sink and shower battery full of salts. The TV only played the state channels. Hair dryer broken and ready to explode. The air conditioning would shut off if you opened the door and window. As a result, at night with everything closed, the air from the air conditioner does not renew. We slept with the door open and the air came in, but only mosquitoes came in because of that and the many killed on the walls by the previous ones! The beds are ok. Soundproofing from the people next door when they were taking a bath, zero!! Our balcony which was at the same level as the garden was nice. But the gutter of the air conditioner of the 1st floor room in front of us was falling and collecting sphinxes!! You couldn't even sit there! Of course I complained and called the shift manager in the room so he could have a picture but nothing was fixed. I asked for a room upgrade paying the difference but there was none available. In fact, they told me that I knew from the beginning that I have a ground floor, back room!! I told them of course I knew, but it doesn't excuse the dirty room and bathroom, the tv that didn't work as it should, the killed mosquitoes, the hair dryer that they had no idea was about to explode!! I'm sorry that they have such rooms for rent either with a voucher or normally!! For the rest of the places, I don't know why my stay is interrupted.

Bon rapport qualité/prix, salle de bain vieillote... Avec Covid, la chambre est faite sur demande la veille pour le lendemain !!!!

Struttura immersa nella natura senza rinunciare alle comodità della città di Zante che dista a soli 8 minuti di auto(che consiglio per godersi tutta l'isola). Qui non troverete caos come nella zona di Laganas, quindi ottimo per chi vuole rilassarsi a 360"grazie anche al personale gentilissimo. Unica pecca il nostro bagno, molto piccolo.... Con acqua che usciva dalla doccia..... E senza bidet..., ma per il resto è stata un ottima esperienza.
