Since there are already a huge number of absolutely fabulous reviews, perhaps another is almost unnecessary or even redundant. However, we absolutely concur with all the former enthusiastic visitors to this truly fantastic haven which boasts an alpha rating PLUS in all areas of Rhulani. We felt from the moment we arrived part of a very special family. It would be totally unjust to highlight anyone in particular since everyone, but everyone, went far beyond the call of duty. HUGE thanks and affectionate gratitude to all from Kathleen & Neil Mackie.

Wonderful experience at Rhulani! A real mix of authenticity and luxury, exactly what we hoped for in our first safari experience. The rooms were beautifully decorated, staff, service and food exceptional and the guide wonderfully informative and experienced. Highly recommend and we would love to return

This was our first time to Southern Africa and our first safari - and I don’t think we could have stayed at a better lodge or game reserve. Everything was spot on - the highlights were the morning and afternoon game drives. We were fortunate to have Alistair who made the whole experience fantastic. We saw all the major animals and really enjoyed seeing them in their natural habitat - following a family of cheetahs, watching lions eating a recent kill and the many different groups at the watering hole. The service, food and ambience at the lodge was exceptional. Thank you.

Fantastic intimate lodge, well priced, great for family’s. Premium lodges can fit four. Staff service was second to none. Whole resort beautifully appointed. We saw all the Big Five. Loved the watering hole & hide right by the lodge. Elephants and zebra came to visit and an impala hops in every night!! Dinner venues Al fresco gorgeous and changed every night. All inclusive; even Mini bar. Easy transfer from Joburg hotel and back (four hour safe drive).

We have just returned from the most incredible stay at Rhulani. All the staff are so lovely and welcoming and our guide Willem was excellent with fantastic knowledge of the animals and flora and fauna. He was such a fabulous lad, we were all sad to leave.

AGAIN WOW... This is our 3rd time at Madikwe and each Lodge at the time I thought cannot get better, UNTILL... we stayed at Rhulani. Reception was great, all staff the friendliest as can be. Managers great, Thatu our guide, Knowledgeable, friendly, goes out of his way to ensure your safari is as best as nature can provide. Rooms always clean and ready. Room 5 with the waterhole view was amazing. Madikwe will see us again, and Rhulani will be for sure top of our shortlist of lodges.

From the moment we arrived we felt unwind and completely relaxed. The lodge is amazing, the staff an absolutely fabolous team: warm hearted, super friendly, always there for support, help and nice words. Every wish you have will be fullfilled immediately. The food is outstanding, never before we had such delicious food deep in the bush. We left Rhulani with 3kg more ;-)) The hide is wonderful, the Game Drives were succesful and we saw the big 5 plus the Wild Dogs and on the top 2 black rhinos with calfs. Our Guide Dean has a very big knowledge about the bush, the animals and the Koi San. Thanks for making our Game Drives so special. Thanks to all the staff for the birthday surprise for my husband, what a super cool idea. Forever in our memory board on the first lane. We wish the whole Team all the best. A special Thank you to Mr. Steiner. He helped us a lot in case of the problems with our earlier flights to South Africa. See you all again -- that's promised

We spent 4 nights at this luxury safari lodge and could not have been happier. From the moment we were picked up at the landing ***** by our Ranger Dean to the time he dropped us off for the flight back to Jo’burg we were pampered by great staff, wonderful food, beautiful accommodation including our villa with its private plunge pool overlooking the animal hide visited regularly by elephants, wildebeests and warthogs, and the thing that’s key to any safari: morning and evening game drives that delivered astonishing interactions with the best of Africa’s wildlife including the Big Five. Ranger Dean used his remarkable knowledge to get us close to the animals 7-8 hours each day while keeping us and them safe. You haven’t lived until you spend every morning watching the sun rise across the pristine Madikwe bushveld, followed later in the day by “sundowner” drinks on the afternoon game drives through beautiful settings. The exceptional ratings this lodge receives are fully justified.

Recently we stayed at Rhulani Safari Lodge for 4 nights. We arrived by private charter plane to a small air***** close by, and our game ranger, Ralf picked us up .Upon arrival to the lodge, We were greeted by Tom with a warm wet towel and a welcome drink. The staff was there to say hi. Our room was a chalet with walls (not a tent) which we preferred. Since the hot tub was cool for our liking, the staff raised the temperature for us. The room were elegantly decorated and had a very full complimentary minibar. The plan was to eat all meals in a different location, but it was too cold a few nights. Michael was excellent at waking us up every morning at 6am for game drive and walked us to and from the lodge for safety. He also started a fire in our room for cold nights. As it was a lot colder than we had packed for, Michael filled hot water bottles for us for game drive and blankets and ponchos. Our driver Ralf was excellent. He did his best to not only show us all the animals, he was fun and excited. Our bar tenders and the rest of staff were also very friendly. Finally, the lodge has a "hide" or underground bunker that allowed us to see the animals VERY CLOSE. I would highly recommend Rhulani and would return without hesitation.
