Superior Hotel Tirolerhof - Zell am See

Great hotel , really close to the centre but still quiet enough in the evening , admittedly at the end of the season. Suite room was superb, food excellent and easy to access the slopes via the mini bus when lazy , only a 5 min walk to the City Express lift to Zell skiing. We had a day at Kaprun on the Glacier and a day in Saalbach - both good as we chased good snow. Bar was fine and Swimming and Sauna excellent too.

Loved this place. Best hotel we've stayed at in a long time. Service perfect from start to finish, food amazing (each breakfast and evening meal we had to same table which was a nice touch), the rooms were amazing (if a tiny bit too hot for us.) Spa was lovely after a day on the slopes, and location was perfect - 5 mins walk from the local gondola and bus station to adjoining ski-areas; 3 mins from town centre shops and bars etc.

A wonderful hotel where the owners and staff do everything in their power to make your holiday the best it can be. Nothing is too much trouble for them, they certainly go out of their way to assist you in any way they can. The food, both at breakfast and dinner is amazing, there are so many choices and everything tasted delicious. The pool and spa area is a perfect place to relax after days spent on the mountain either skiing or walking. We have been to this hotel many times in the past and hopefully we will be able to return many more times in the future to enjoy everything it has to offer. It is situated a short walk to the town and also the lake and cable car, it also has really good transport links should you fancy a day visiting other towns or cities. Perfect for a holiday at any time of the year. I personally can’t decide which is my favourite season to visit.

We were impressed with this super hotel from the moment we arrived. It's incredibly comfortable, our room was spacious and well-equipped and it's located in the heart of Zell-Am-See, just a short walk from the CityExpress Gondola or a short bus ride to the larger Gondola that takes you straight to the top. We had a half-board package and liked having our own table for the duration of our stay with our own waiter and superb breakfasts and 4-course dinners to look forward to. Snacks at 4pm were always welcome, The wine was reasonably priced and there is a fully equipped spa in the basement. We'd certainly consider returning to the Tirolerhof again in the future and we commend the family who own it and the staff who run it for providing an excellent stay !

Our third visit over a 20 year duration. Still a great family run hotel. Our 2024 stay was a fantastic. Lovely hotel. Great service. Great location. Food marvelous. We really enjoyed our stay here in March 2024. The hotel is really lovely and the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. We stayed in a junior suite and the room was lovely, quiet and clean. The breakfast was extensive and good quality. The nightly evening meal was beautifully balanced and Austrian. Great stay and will be visiting again soon.

Over the years we have visited this lovely hotel 3 times, in 1993, 2000 and just last week. We really shouldn’t have left it so long as it is a real gem. We had a junior suite which was spacious and spotless. We didn’t ski but found plenty to do - walking in the area, spending time in pool, sauna, steam room or wondering around Zell visiting the many cafes and gift shops and walks around the lake. The 4 course evening meals were a special delight with lots of variety accompanied by some excellent Austrian wines. Special mention to Rosa who looked after us so well each day and is a credit to the hotel. Thank you to The Posch Family and Hotel Tirolerhof for a truly relaxing stay. We can’t wait to return and we definitely will not be leaving it so long next time.

Stayed 16-23 March. Lovely hotel, staff incredibly attentive and efficient. Lounge, bar and restaurant all beautifully decorated. All the food was first rate, especially the four course evening meal which was top notch fine dining with warm and friendly service. Lovely spa. Boot room with lockers and heated boot posts. Great location, 7 min walk to City Xpress Gondola, Brundl Sports ski hire (who will store shoes and their skis free of charge) and SkiSchule Zell am Zee office, 5 mins walk to the lake. Bus stops for Kaprun (for glacier) and Saalbach gondolas also nearby (at Postplatz). Had a great holiday and very much hope to return. J & D room 302.

The Tirolerhof is a lovely hotel, it looks great from the outside and sits in a great location near the center of town. On entering the reception area you immediately feel at home among the wonderful wooden beams, soft fabric finishes, comfy armchairs and welcoming reception and reception team. The reception process was great, they did all the work while we sat in the comfy chairs drinking a welcome glass of fizz. The Tirolerhof is a classy hotel and it shows, everywhere is tastefully decorated and to a high standard the rooms are no exception. Our room was spacious and well apportioned in almost all respects, the bedroom area was excellent, the only minor criticism for me was the size of the shower cubicle, while the bathroom itself was well proportioned there was a 'corner' shower tucked in one corner whereas if the sink unit had been made less generous and the entrance doors reduced from a pair (French style) to a single door then a full sized shower would have fitted nicely, but it is a small ******. The restaurant is well laid out and just as tasteful as the rest of the hotel, food quality was good and there were 4 courses offered. An issue for us was that the menu descriptions did not match our expectations in that the English was not correct and so sometimes we selected items that were not at all expected and missed out on other selections because the description was not appealing so definitely a need for the Hotel to improve the accuracy of the description of the food choices. The Hotel bar was large and again well decorated and comfortable, afternoon snacks (for skiers) was okay-ish although very similar every day with little choice, from our experiences in many countries on ski holidays, would expected tea/coffee to normally be available along with the afternoon snacks however this was something that if we wanted, we would have to pay for which is a shame. The bar was reasonably well stocked although we found the single on-tap beer to be not nice and so stuck to bottled beer or shorts. I have to say at this juncture that without exception, all the Tirolerhof staff and throughout every area of the hotel - were friendly, informative and very genuine in conversations with us. The pool area, steam, sauna and Laconium areas were excellent, yes the pool could have been a little warmer but it was not too cool, the whirlpool also could have been warmer too however overall the spa was excellent and there were plentiful towels and complimentary gowns etc. For skiers there is a boot and skis storage room with private access and lockers with direct external access. The hotel does advertise a transfer service between the hotel and the ski lift but this is very limited! it ONLY goes to the main closest ski lift and ONLY as a drop off service there is NO collection service to return to the hotel, that is a big mistake in my view as the hotel is a 10 minute walk minimum to the ski lift and if you are in ski-boots carrying skis, that is not great. Fantastic hotel, great location in Zell and nothing was too much trouble. Food choice was excellent. Service throughout the hotel was excellent from booking in, ski shuttle, hotel front desk and pool area. Large rooms, large bathrooms and very clean. Highly recommended and thank you for the week..very much enjoyed.
