Tianjian Hotel,Tianmen Mountain,Zhangjiajie

I was quite disappointed with this hotel. It looked so grand in the advertisements, but when we checked in, it was rather desolate, with just one front desk lady and a cat. I'm allergic to cats, and I think hotels should inform guests if there are pets on the premises, so we can make an informed choice. The young lady at the front desk was very kind and upgraded us to a family room. We're a family of four and had booked two rooms. However, the curtain in room 1106 couldn't be closed, and the faucet behind the toilet in room 1110 was leaking... The hotel advertised having a laundry room, which was a must-have for us as long-term travelers. But when I went to do laundry at night, I found only one washing machine and one dryer in the 'laundry room,' and it looked like it hadn't been maintained in ages. There wasn't even any laundry detergent. Several people were queuing up that night, so we couldn't wash our clothes. Then I discovered that each room had a paid shared dryer. What kind of bizarre operation is this? Provide fewer facilities in one place, then offer them for a fee in another? Then there was the buffet breakfast, which I paid extra for when checking in. Breakfast hours were from 7-9 AM. When my husband went at 7 AM, it was packed, and there were no seats. By the time I went around 7:40 AM, most of the food was gone. I went to the front desk to tell the lady I wouldn't be eating and asked if I could get a refund. She said it had already been registered and couldn't be refunded. Although they did refund it after some negotiation, I was quite speechless. The advertisement claimed this hotel was 4-star, but my experience was only 2-star.

Great location! It's close to scenic spots, and the hotel offers fantastic views right from the entrance – you can see Tianmen Mountain directly. I picked this place based on a recommendation from Doubao. I actually didn't realize the mountain in front was Tianmen Mountain until my taxi driver told me. You can faintly make out Tianmen Cave in the first picture.

Got an upgrade to a mountain view room, and it's about a 17-minute drive to the C-line. Overall, pretty good.

The hotel has a laundry room, the rooms are clean, there's no noise, and the location is great, very close to attractions.

Booked two nights for a client. It's a great hotel, and the front desk staff were very diligent, responsible, and easy to communicate with.
