Overall, it was quite good and I'm very satisfied. The only thing is that the breakfast selection was a bit limited, with too many fried foods. Also, this was my first time in Henan, and I tried the Hu La Tang (spicy soup) at the breakfast restaurant. It had a lethal amount of star anise in it, and I thought that's how the authentic version was supposed to be. But then I went to the restaurant next door for dinner, and their version was quite normal.

I brought my kids to Zhengzhou for summer vacation, and the hotel's location is great, right in the Erqi Square business district, next to David City, so the amenities are quite good. The day before check-in, the hotel customer service proactively called to ask about our arrival time and needs. I clearly mentioned having two children and asked for extra bottled water in the room. However, on the day of check-in, neither the children's slippers and other supplies nor the extra bottled water were provided. There were very few staff in the lobby, and the overall feeling was just average. One side of the bedsheet in the room was hanging out. I've stayed at InterContinental hotels in many cities, and this one was probably the worst experience.

I used to give this place good reviews and considered myself a returning customer. If you don't want to start your day off on a bad note, ignore the manager who greets you at breakfast. This manager is easily identifiable – not wearing a uniform and speaking very rudely. Otherwise, you'll have your good mood unexpectedly ruined. Even though I had purchased breakfast, I didn't have time to eat in the dining area. I asked for a black coffee and orange juice to go. A manager, not in uniform and wearing heavy makeup, immediately said that breakfast needed to follow procedures. I said even a non-freshly squeezed orange juice would be fine, but the manager was just uncooperative and completely impolite. I then asked if she could send it to my room because I needed to leave. The manager said I had to carry it up myself!!! You heard right, I had to carry it up myself, even after I told her to just leave it outside my door at 10 AM. Where is the service in that? And she's a manager, no less. Imagine what kind of example she sets for her staff. We're here to stay, not to be upset. For a manager to lack training and not wear a uniform while on duty – is this what a five-star hotel should be like? This time, the hotel front desk and all the restaurant staff were new. I thought the service would be better, but it was just a chaotic mess.

My first time choosing Intercontinental was out of necessity, but it will also be my last. I booked an executive room hoping to get some good rest during my road trip. Upon checking in, I opened the mini-bar to find a half-empty bottle of opened beer. I called quick service, but no one answered, so I didn't consume anything from the mini-bar. I went to the executive lounge for dinner at 6:00 PM. There was no staff at the front desk. I entered the restaurant and called out "Hello" three times, but no one responded. (I won't comment on the dinner itself, it was edible enough to fill me up). My room (2220) was diagonally opposite what seemed to be an escape route door or service room? I'm not sure, but from the moment I entered the room at 4:00 PM, there was constant slamming and opening of doors, people going in and out, until 11:30 PM. The noise was unbearable, and I really can't commend your hotel's soundproofing. In the elevator lobby on the 7th floor leading to the guest rooms, a service staff member in a blue uniform saw us with our luggage but offered no polite greeting or assistance. (At this point, I truly regret the cost of this night's stay. Intercontinental, what exactly are you doing?) My only positive comment goes to the staff at the 7th-floor breakfast restaurant. It was the only place where I experienced service and politeness!!! I wish your hotel prosperous business. Please don't bother me again.

The room was very spacious and clean, the service was excellent, and the location was perfect.

I was very satisfied with the overall service quality of the hotel. It's right next to the David Citadel, making it convenient for dining and shopping. The underground parking was clearly signposted and easy to find. We stayed for three days, and the breakfast quality was decent, though not much variety. I personally felt there were too few hot dishes. The room was comfortable and, despite being next to the elevator, the noise was minimal, which is great for light sleepers. On the first day, the staff thoughtfully provided children's toothbrushes and slippers upon noticing we had a child. Check-in was a bit slow as there was a company holding a conference, leading to many guests, which I understood. The next day at breakfast, due to the large crowd, items like boiled eggs and buns ran out very early and weren't promptly refilled.

IHG is my top choice for travel. I absolutely loved the room layout (two sinks!). The hotel is connected to a mall, making the location very central. The only drawback was that getting a taxi was a bit difficult due to severe traffic congestion right outside the entrance. The breakfast was the most authentic I've had recently; they even had a 'Hu La Tang' (spicy soup) flavored Eggs Benedict! Plus, the table reservation signs were in the local dialect. During my stay, there was a frightening incident that still makes me shudder when I think about it. Luckily, I was strong enough to handle it at the time, and the hotel manager communicated very well with me afterward. I sincerely hope similar incidents can be avoided in the future 🙏

Facilities: The hotel facilities are complete and very new, which I was very satisfied with. Hygiene: The rooms were cleaned daily, and every nook and cranny was spotless. Environment: As a newly opened hotel, everything was excellent. We were upgraded to a garden-view room this time, and the view was absolutely beautiful. Service: Highly commendable! Every staff member adhered to the principle of service with a smile and helped us resolve many issues. They even surprised us with a cake when they learned it was my family member's birthday. This was a very satisfying hotel stay experience.
