Putuoshan BYUAN Hotel

Dock-to-hotel transfer: After arriving at the pier, I contacted the housekeeper and the car arrived shortly, which was very convenient. The hotel environment is also excellent. This is my second time staying here in Putuo Mountain. Free Zen-style travel photography: The room booking included a complimentary hotel photoshoot, and the service was fantastic. I couldn't resist choosing a few extra photos.

We were quite apprehensive after seeing so many negative reviews, so we went in with a 'go with the flow' attitude. Our butler, No. 2, was incredibly helpful. Someone even met us specifically at the pier. They were always responsive to our needs. Since we had a baby, they prepared a baby cot for us in advance and kindly allowed us to extend our check-out time. The pier transfers were also very convenient; they helped us transport our luggage to the lobby as we had a lot with the baby. Overall, we weren't really dissatisfied with anything. The lady at the front desk, Chenxiang, was so lovely and lucky; the baby immediately went to her when she held out her arms! 😄 The portions at the restaurant were huge, which really surprised me! 🫶🏻 We didn't get to ride in the legendary pickup truck though! 😄 To be fair, the soundproofing isn't great, but after all the walking and prayers, we were so tired that we fell asleep instantly. So grateful!

I think this is the best hotel on Putuo Mountain. The hotel restaurant serves delicious food, and the complimentary travel photography service is highly recommended. The photographer is excellent! 👍

Putuoshan Baiyuan Hotel: Zen and Surprise Hidden Between Mountains and Sea Choosing Baiyuan Hotel for my trip to Mount Putuo was absolutely the best decision I made! The moment I stepped in, I was soothed by the sophisticated, Zen-inspired garden aesthetic. The traditional Huizhou architecture, combined with the wooden-style guest rooms, perfectly blends classical charm with modern, light luxury comfort. The room was spacious and bright, and the underfloor heating and independent dehumidification system made for a perfect stay. What truly stood out was the butler-like service, which was incredibly thoughtful – from airport transfers and luggage assistance to promptly responding to every request, it made me feel so warm and cared for. I especially want to highlight their travel photography service – it was the biggest surprise of the entire trip! I initially just wanted some simple photos, but the experience exceeded all expectations.

The room was new, clean, and spacious. Breakfast was also great. The service, needless to say, was excellent. Anything we needed was brought up immediately with just one phone call. It was definitely worth the peak season price.

A hotel that brings peace to your mind 🏨 📍Location: Next to Puji Temple's Dacheng Nunnery. You can contact the hotel for a pick-up service after getting off the boat. 🏠Room: I stayed in a duplex suite. The second floor has a balcony and a tea room, perfect for enjoying tea while transcribing scriptures. The first floor features a large table, a mini-bar, and a separate wet/dry bathroom. The room was very quiet, possibly because it was located further inside the building. 💁🏻Service: The housekeeper was friendly, and all the staff I encountered were very welcoming. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Highlights: * The overall decor style is very comfortable, utilizing a lot of natural light. The central 'Pure Vase Tree' landscape is very soothing to the eyes. * Excellent location, right next to Dacheng Nunnery, where Changsheng Zhai Cai (a vegetarian restaurant) is located. It's also not far from Fayu Temple, about a 20-minute walk. * Breakfast was noteworthy 😋 * The shuttle service between the hotel and the pier is a great perk, as the public shuttle buses on the island are notoriously difficult to catch. You can walk along the path, pray along the way to the pier, and then take the hotel shuttle back (confirm in advance). * Being able to transcribe scriptures and burn incense in the room really helps calm the mind. * Complimentary welcome fruit is provided daily, and the fruit was very sweet 😘

The noise from the street on the first floor was too loud, especially the buses. The soundproofing is really poor, and I could even smell exhaust fumes and gasoline seeping into the room. For this price, the quality just isn't there. It really detracted from my experience. Next time, I'll definitely book somewhere closer to Puji Temple; it's much more convenient for transportation and food, whereas this area has absolutely nothing nearby.

The hotel environment is great, and the room is clean, bright, and very comfortable. I'll definitely book here again next time I visit.
