Mount Putuo Xiyu Inn

The rooms are hard to find, located in a resident building in a not so well-kept side-street (compared to other places on this beautiful island). It would be very helpful if the description would be updated with the picture of the building outside. In addition, it seems that there is no reception/front-desk. Luckily, the neighbors helped me find the host. My room was as described, but not maintained well. It had a slight moldy smell, and the walls next to the bed were dirty. Otherwise, the room was clean. The toiletries were provided, including a single-use bath towel (but no normal towel). There was no toilet paper left in the circular enclosure, but there were tissues provided, so no complaints here. The host was helpful with my inquieries, but the price-performance ratio was much worse than in other places in Zhejiang. It should be noted, that this was one of the cheaper options on the Putuoshan island so it is understandable that the prices can be a bit higher.If you are on tight budget but still want to enjoy the high standard of hotel services one gets accustomed to in China, I would recommend staying on the neighbouring Zhujiajian island. There, the prices are much reasonable and the ferry only takes 20 min.
