This was a fairly nice and pretty place to stay within walking distance of much of the town, although you will want to be cautious walking down the hill through some street hawkers and would never do so after dark.
The staff was very excellent, friendly, and approachable. My only complaint, which led me to leave a night early, was that the WiFi went out for over a day and the owner was evidently unwilling to fix it and I needed WiFi for my work so I went elsewhere. This was not the staff's fault and they were apologetic and I think they tried to get the owner to buy more internet time but I gather she did not want to. So, similar to a previous review, the staff worked hard under a less than supportive and helpful owner.

Time for management to wake up. Pestering for extra payment when all amounts due aready paid. No system for checking condition of rooms, recording and fixing problems... in our case a sink unconnected to the waste, water went straight to the bathroom floor! That said great location with a large plot, the price is low and the staff are welcoming and do all they can to help.

We had lunch here twice in July. Food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait a bit but it was more efficient than several other Zomba restaurants we tried. Had excellent large steaks on husband's birthday.

I stayed at the Manja Lodge for about a week for a work trip. The staff is outstanding! I was lucky to meet Mary, Grace, Emmanuel, and Isaac. They are very attentive to guest needs, and I definitely want to stay at Manja the next time I am in Zomba. The only "problem" was that during my stay, the internet provider was doing work on the wiring so I didn't have access - which was not Manja Lodge's fault at all. Staff did everything they could to help - they set up a backup wifi network, were happy to hotspot your devices to send some emails/stay in touch, or help top-up your Airtel to get data so you can access the internet on your jail-broken devices.
