Morgantown Inns

We’re one block from the Metropolitan Theatre and dozens of downtown Morgantown restaurants. West Virginia University is a five-minute walk from our hotel, and Mountaineer Field and WVU Coliseum are less than two miles away. Walk to PRT Walnut Station and Caperton Trail, just a couple minutes away.

I recently stayed at the SpringHill Suites and had a fantastic experience. The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. However, what really stood out to me was the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast selection was impressive, with a variety of hot and cold items available. The food was fresh and delicious, and there was something for everyone. It was a great way to start the day and made my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend the SpringHill Suites for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient hotel with a nice breakfast included.

This was a great hotel. Close to everything, easy check in and out, clean, and most of all - the staff was incredible. Very kind throughout the stay.

The location is great. The check in process was easy and fast. The front desk employee was also very nice. The room was clean too.

Staff is so friendly! Great location! Great breakfast! We came for a tennis tournament. Great location for the West Virginia university tennis courts. The breakfast here is better than any other similar type hotel. The person who in charge of breakfast does a great job. Sam at the front desk is a gem. So personable and helpful. The two others we interacted with were helpful as well.

This is a mid/high rise Marriott located at the foot of the hills in downtown Morgantown. If you are familiar with the Marriott brand, it follows the blueprint of some of the more recent renovations for their full service properties--carpet is out, hardwood floors are in. Personally, I like that approach. The rooms on each end of the main corridor appear to be larger than the rest; we had one of those and it was quite spacious. It was well equipped with some seating areas and a desk. If you are looking for lots of freebies like breakfast, don't stay in a full service hotel. There are plenty of mid-tier and budget hotels in Morgantown. This is a nicer property with higher quality materials, and if you want food, you're paying for it; just like every other full service Marriott, Hilton, etc. There is an adjacent parking garage; be warned it is a bit of a haul through the convention center corridor to get to it. (By the way, the convention center isn't renovated, and you can tell what the decor must have been for this Marriott not long ago too). The WVU Downtown Visitor's Center is across the courtyard, and some of the downtown campus buildings are nearby. I didn't try the restaurant, but there is a ”real” full service Starbucks in the lobby that we did use. Overall this is a nice property. For my night, the cost was a bit higher than some of the other options, but it was still a fair price for the quality of the hotel.

This is a relatively new hotel and just off the Highway in Morgantown. I stayed here overnight to attend a football game at West Virginia University. The hotel does not provide shuttle service. You can get a taxi or Uber. The reception was friendly and prompt. Packets of popcorn, flavored water, and cookies were offered at a table in the lobby. They were complimentary. My room had great views of Morgantown, the mountains and the river. The bed was firm for a good night's sleep. Bathroom was large enough. The sheets and linens were fresh and plenty of towels. There is a small indoor pool, an exercise room and weights room. The patio has many outdoor sofas to enjoy the views and perhaps BBQ in the summer. Many of the guests seemed like they came for the game. Breakfast is standard courtyard with the crispy roasted potatoes that I like. All in all a good stay at this hotel. There are lots of malls around the hotel and you could perhaps walk out for dinner.

First the positive things: The continental breakfast was very good and the coffee was good. The location was the most convenient for the medical office we needed to go to. The Applebees restaurant being so close was a pleasant surprise. The room TV was good. The negative things: The furnishings were meager with a tiny lobby. The furnishing in the King room looked like chip board discount furniture store stuff. There was no closet, only a cheap looking two door wardrobe set in the corner behind the permanent end table so you could only open one door. The coat rack was hanging loose on the wall with the anchors almost out of the wall. the security device was also loose on the left of the door. The commode was so low it reminded me of an Asian toilet. I fixed the chain on the toilet because it was running all the time. The heating system sounded like a steam engine running all night. Housekeeping only does the room every other day. I would stay there again only because of my age and how close the hotel is to where the medical center is located. The front desk clerk couldn't tell us where the Rockefeller Neurological Institute was, though it was right across the road on the hill with the name in about four foot letters on the front, so we couldn't get directions to drive to it from her.
