The hotel is in a good location, very close to the Yi scenic area, and the hotel environment is okay, but the hotel room is not very clean, with heavy dust. I suggest the innkeeper to clean it thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner. I sneezed when I went in, and I am allergic to dust mites.

We are Malaysian & can speak mandarin. Don’t worry if you’re non-chinese speaker, they will try their best to communicate with you.
Sonzhuju Coffee & Tea Holiday Villa is convenient for those who bring big luggage. They have a service to help carry your luggage too, from the main road (approx 170m). And please let them know once you arrived at the main road! The hotel is away from loud noise & busy from the main area. Cosy place & strategic for us staying in 3D2N. The room was clean. Breakfast included, but for Muslims, please mention that you’re Muslim, then they will prepare you veggie options. And you can choose to have your meal in your room or their eating area. Ai Fei, a local host from the hotel, was very helpful in arranging our customised tour trip. We texted the hotel via WeChat 8–9 days prior to our arrival in Lijiang. We asked if there was any local there who could advise us on the trip and straightaway they made a group for discussion. He'd make sure that we were all okay & happy to discuss our plan to visit any area that we would like to go to. He arranged our private car trip to JDSM & Blue Moon Valley and brought the ticket for us too. Upon we'd arrived at the hotel, he served us a welcome tea, fruit and flower cake. From the next morning we are going to JDSM & Blue Moon Valley. He advised us on what the do’s and don't prior to our trip. The private driver that he helped arrange for us was also very helpful & patient to ensure that we felt safe going to the place (group chat). He also helped to arrange a private car for us to Shangri-la. Overall, he made our plan and trip smoothly. As for the Muslims, you can ask him or the hotel host to recommend where the nearest Muslim restaurant they will definitely find for you. Overall, definitely recommend staying here. We are happy with our stay here.

The owner was incredibly welcoming and kind. They even picked us up from the bus station and took us to the guesthouse. Our room was spotless and fresh, with no unpleasant smells. The first floor of the guesthouse is absolutely beautiful! 😍 And the rooftop patio is amazing – you can relax on the swing, gaze at Cangshan Mountain in the distance, and admire the old town. It's incredibly peaceful and relaxing! I highly recommend booking here! It's super close to the South Gate of the old town, which is perfect for an evening stroll and experiencing the night market. Overall, a fantastic experience!

I’ve spent three months traveling and I really needed to find a place where I felt comfortable and could stay bit longer. That’s when I found this hidden gem and I end up staying for a week. It’s a great value hotel in Lijiang! It’s just outside the Old Town, so you’re close to everything but away from the noise. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and very affordable. The area is calm with lots of nice local restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

Very good value for money. Room is clean and comfortable, with big TV and fully functional air conditioning or heating. Beds were comfortable and sufficient hot water and good water pressure in the shower. Directly on old town street and really close to Zhu family garden. Owner is friendly and dropped us off at the train station for free!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had a wonderful 2-night stay here. The hotel is located inside Lijiang Ancient Town, which made the experience even more special.
The owner kindly picked us up along with our big luggage. It was such a fun ride—we honestly enjoyed it so much haha. During check-in, we were welcomed with an orange, which was a very sweet and thoughtful gesture.
The owner was extremely helpful throughout our stay. He assisted us with renting traditional costumes and arranging a photography session around Lijiang Ancient Town, which made our trip even more memorable.
After we came back from Yulong Snow Mountain, the owner also gave us very thoughtful advice. He reminded us not to shower immediately and to take some time to relax first, explaining that showering right away could cause altitude sickness or even a cold due to the sudden temperature change. We really appreciated this care and concern for our well-being.
What we felt most grateful for was the kindness shown to us regarding our laundry. When we asked if there was a washing machine, they said yes, and we managed to start the first wash cycle before heading out. When we returned at night, all our clothes had already been washed and were ready for us to hang. We were shy and happy at the same time 😆 because otherwise, we would have had to stay up late just to settle our laundry.
Overall, this stay felt very warm and personal—almost like being taken care of by family. Truly a memorable experience, and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lijiang Ancient Town.
What a great location for being amongst the terraces! We splurged and got the terrace view room, and it was very nice with a great view, comfortable bed, warm blankets, and hot shower. The room has an unblocked view of the terraces. But if you don't get that room, the upstairs balcony has the very best view. But we enjoyed watching the sunrise from our bed with hot tea.
Lucian is really great! He explained to us different hiking options for seeing other views. His English is really good too so you can ask him any questions about the area. He has a sweet old dog and a cute young cat. He's also available to pick you up if you get lost or have trouble getting back after sunset.
There are 2 good restaurants a 10 minute uphill walk away, or Lucian can cook you meals, which are also great.
Thanks Lucian!

The B&B bathroom was exceptionally good and well-stocked with disposables. My girlfriend and I had bought our own, but didn't even need to use them, which shows how thoughtful the owner is. There's also a shuttle service to and from the station. The owner is truly fantastic. We've traveled from Kunming to Dali, Lijiang, and now Shangri-La, and the service here in Shangri-La is absolutely top-notch. The owner even gave us tips for exploring the area. I don't usually leave reviews, but I just had to this time. Highly recommend!

The hotel has a great location, right in Jianshui Ancient Town, with free parking right outside.
The guesthouse is decorated in a very stylish way. The rooms are on the third floor, with a huge living room and a view of the lake near the Confucian Temple – a beautiful view indeed.
The rooms are quite large, with a wooden interior design. It's not far from Lotus Island and Xianghui Bridge bus station.

This hotel is great! The room looks exactly like the pictures online. The location is super convenient for getting around. They even rent out electric scooters on-site, and the staff are really helpful with directions. As someone from Malaysia who isn't familiar with the area, renting a scooter and following their explanations and maps was no problem at all 😂.
They also offer a shuttle service to Lijiang, which is really cost-effective and convenient. They pick you up right at the entrance. You can ask the friendly guys at the front desk – it's truly a one-stop service! 👍🙏

GGuest UserThe room offers a beautiful view, is very clean, and the environment is lovely. The service is also excellent.
Stay 2 nights and get a pick-up from the train station, or stay 3 nights and get a pick-up from the airport: A driver will be arranged to pick you up and help with your luggage.
Upon check-in, you'll receive one-on-one butler service: A group chat will be created where you can ask any questions directly, and they will be resolved immediately.
XXingyundeO’DonnellWe stayed in the family room with our four-year-old and eleven-month-old babies. It was on the top floor with large windows offering mountain views from multiple angles, which was very pleasant. The guesthouse owner was incredibly welcoming; she met us at the intersection, helped with our luggage, cooked breakfast for us, and responded instantly on WeChat. I have to specifically mention that her fermented tofu was absolutely delicious! The guesthouse's location is also excellent – very close to Foreigner Street on foot, yet it's not noisy; you can't hear any music, and it's quiet every night. There's a convenience store nearby, and right across the street is a local Bai family restaurant. For tie-dye experiences, there are two shops right at the intersection. Overall, the location is super convenient. It was a very satisfying stay.
LLendanearFamily owned Hotel inside the ancient city boundaries. Quaint Tea House style hotel that doesn’t quite pull it off. The owner and her staff are lovely and will do anything to help you but the rooms are very small and run down. It is the old town and they are restricted by government ordinances, but it just appears old. I think there are many better hotels around but most likely at a premium in price.
GGuest UserThe location of this hotel was perfect for us. The view from our room at the Jade Dragon Snow mountain and at the historic city is just stunning. We enjoyed very much sitting on the balcony bench during the different times of the day with that vista. The hotel is set aside from the busiest zone of the city (so it is really quiet during the nights) but close enough to reach it quickly by foot. The room and the bathroom were nicely designed and quite modern, and also very clean. The guys at the reception were very friendly and easy to communicate with by using a translation app, although they didn't speak English. They organized tours for us for a competitive price and the drivers were very reliable and open for our wishes. The picked us up and brought us to the station for free as we stayed more than 3 nights. We didn't use the breakfast option, as we always departed before 8.30 am when breakfast time started. Overall, we can recommend this hotel wholeheartedly!
GGuest UserFinding a beautiful and comfortable guesthouse in Lijiang's Shuhe Ancient Town is pure bliss! Guanxin Inn is perfectly situated in the heart of the ancient town, offering convenient access and surrounded by picturesque mountains and clear waters. The fresh air instantly puts you at ease. The bedding in the rooms is incredibly comfortable, making you feel right at home with its warmth and softness, guaranteeing a good night's sleep every time. The service is also incredibly attentive, making you feel welcome and cared for from check-in to check-out. Not only are the views enchanting, but you also get to enjoy peace and tranquility here, making it an excellent choice for a relaxing getaway. If you appreciate a quiet and elegant environment, this place will definitely meet your expectations!
GGuest UserThis was truly a unique experience! The price was great, the environment was lovely, and the service was incredibly thoughtful. The front desk lady meticulously explained how to see the 'sunrise over the golden mountains' and how to explore Lijiang. The best part? The guesthouse owner turned out to be from my hometown in Chongqing, and even our neighbor! What a small world, you couldn't make this up. We drank tea in the afternoon and had drinks together in the evening – they were so incredibly hospitable! 😍 Next time I'm in Lijiang, I'm definitely staying here again. The emotional value was off the charts! 💯 Below are some real photos I took this morning. Friends, if you're going to Lijiang, this guesthouse should be your top choice.
MM509547****The guesthouse has a fantastic location, just a 5-minute walk to the center of the old town. The owner was incredibly welcoming, offering to help with luggage and providing travel tips. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and stylishly decorated. Although it's on the street, it was very quiet at night; the attention to detail was excellent. My stay was perfect for a few days, and the value for money was fantastic. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Lijiang!
NNataliia_MerkulovaExceptional Hospitality – Above & Beyond Every Expectation!
This hotel's kindness truly amazed us! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed—they even provided free airport and train station transfers, which was a huge relief.
The lovely receptionist always asked what time we'd prefer breakfast, making sure everything suited our schedule. We also loved having access to a tea station downstairs, where we could enjoy a proper tea ceremony anytime. And after a long journey, the welcome fruits were such a thoughtful touch!
The room had everything we could possibly need—even small details like a hair tie were provided. The Dyson hairdryer was a nice bonus!
A special thank you to the receptionist (安大喜 Ann) for organizing our trip to Blue Moon Valley. When we realized we'd miss breakfast, she packed it for us the night before—so we still enjoyed a fantastic meal with a mountain view (photo attached!).
Even when we had issues with tour guides, 安大喜 Ann was available 24/7, offering advice and support. She went out of her way to help us in countless ways—this level of care is rare!
We highly recommend this hotel—their personal approach is truly outstanding and makes all the difference. Unforgettable stay—we'll be back!
MmoneymoremoreThe location is fantastic, directly across from the Dali Ancient City Tourist Center. There's a large open space in front of the tourist center, making it very convenient for taxis and parking, though it can get a bit congested during peak hours.
It's a super short walk, only about 100 meters, from the hotel to the south gate of Dali Ancient City.
The hotel service is also excellent. The concierge staff (young women) are incredibly warm and attentive. Any questions I had were answered quickly via WeChat. I feel their service is comparable to Haidilao. You can see the specific services offered in the pictures; there are so many! For laundry and drying, you don't even have to do it yourself; just give your dirty clothes to the concierge, and they'll return them clean the next day.
Every morning, breakfast not only includes a buffet selection but each person can also order a freshly prepared main dish. I think the Zajiang Ersi (noodles with fried sauce) is the best. Although Ersi is made from rice, its texture is quite unique – sticky, moist, not slippery, and a bit chewy. The fried mini sesame balls and fried date balls from the self-serve breakfast are delicious, and the sliced, juicy sausages are also very good. See the pictures for more details.
The room is super spacious, the bed is huge, and the TV is a pop-up type hidden in a cabinet (Room 106).
The afternoon tea is also incredibly exquisite, featuring flower cakes, preserved fruits, fresh fruit, cookies, and three different types of tea.
I'll definitely stay here again if I come back to Dali.
GGuest UserTitle: A perfect blend of tradition and comfort – wish we could have stayed longer!
I only had one night at Grand Joli Demeure · Du Bo Lin | Er·Schr Schrödinger Art Hotel (Big Waterwheel Branch), but it was absolutely memorable. The staff reached out right after I booked, which made me feel well taken care of from the start.
The hotel itself is a beautiful example of traditional Naxi architecture — the ”three courts and one screen wall” style — and feels incredibly cozy. At the same time, the room features a modern, clean, and textured interior that offers the best of both worlds.
What truly made our stay special was the team. Every single staff member was warm, attentive, and thoughtful — they even arranged our transfers. A special shout-out to Qianxi, who was always ready to help, answered all our questions patiently, and gave great recommendations on local attractions and food. We truly felt at home.
Loved the little touches: afternoon tea, a sweet soup in the evening, and the chance to make my own sachet by hand. They also offer a tea-cake making experience in the old town, though sadly we didn't have enough time to join.
Before we left, they thoughtfully gifted us a lovely little farewell present — such a sweet and heartwarming gesture.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for charm, warmth, and thoughtful hospitality. Next time, I’ll definitely stay longer!wa
