Comfort Inn Downtown Charleston

There are more breakfasts and meals, but the hotel staff is very warm and thoughtful. After the breakfast meal is over, ask for it and come back to face the meal after the meal. My car key was lost on the hotel sofa, and the front desk ***o and Damelle found it and kept it for the customer. The front desk staff patiently helped you change rooms. Parking is not sufficient for the occupants. Late night, the hotel has to park at the surrounding banks and have to move in the morning.

This motel was a big disappointment. We were given room 132 as we opened the door we could smell that nasty ”dead cigarette stink. Their motel room are supposed to be non-smoking. There were burn holes in the comforter too. Then I saw German roaches crawling around. I went to the office & asked for a different room. The clerk first said there were no 1st floor rooms left. When I said I would leave then she said she saw another 1st floor room. She also said she was new at that job. We move to room 142 I did not see roaches in that room but it had that stinky cigarette smell too. There was stains on the bedding & 1 of the pillows looked like it had been dragged in dirt. There was black mold on the bathroom walls. The mini fridge was not working as it was iced up & bulbs missing from the lights. The only nice thing I can say is that there was good water pressure & the day clerk was very nice & considerate. We stayed in a very nice clean comfortable motel the night before in FL it was great. The cost at this Quality Inn was the same as the nice FL motel. They are really over priced for such a stinky motel room that needs to update & in need of much better maintenance. I gave this info when Quality Inn asked for a review & I asked for a refund. The reply from the owner only said they do pest control treatments. Next time I don't care how tired I am I will not stay at that Quality Inn ever again. I took pictures & plan to submit them to Choice corporate but I have a feeling this Quality Inn is not corporate owned.

Location is great right off I-95. Within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and gas stations. Room is clean and freshly painted, Fresh paint, well stocked bathroom does have mini fridge, however it does not have a microwave in the room .. The front desk is friendly so check in was great and they do offer coffee around the clock ..

Pre reserved for cross country trip to a funeral. The manager was ‘the only person working at 4pm’, front desk, cleaning rooms, laundry’ etc. She stayed there all night working. I won’t stay there again because the shower didn’t work and had no hot water. I can’t say enough about the manager’s work ethic. She needs a raise.

Room was clean and the bed linens smelled fresh. The front office staff and maids were all amiable and happy to be helpful. Breakfast was carb city. Did have self made hot waffles, muffins, cereals, yogurt bananas and coffee n juice. We stayed three nights and would be happy to go back.

Red Roof Inn Gaffney

Check in was smooth. Very friendly check in agent. They did have hard plastic dividers at most of the check in area. I've rarely been to a Red Roof Inn that had inside corridors and rooms this large. I was skeptical at first because my room had a ”push here for assistance” buttons on the outside, usually indicating its a handicapped room, but once inside, it clearly was not one (maybe it was prior). Room had faux hardwood floors. Bathroom was kinda bare and drab. Shower had GREAT pressure and hot hot water. TV had TONS of channels, but I couldn't get the TV's aspect ratio correct. WiFI was zippy. Computer chair actually raised to a normal height. Decent outlet availability too. Bed was OK, pillows were mostly terrible. Stop washing the damn pillows! Towels were scratchy. Downside is the faux wood floor gets a little ”moist” at times it seems like vs a carpeted room. Check out was smooth, same agent as the previous day at check in. Location is great! Right off 85, but back in a bit, no road noise at all. Bojangles, diner, Waffle House, QT and a Pilot all within a 5 min walk. I'd easily stay here again.
