"The hotel is located on a mountain. In late April, the cherry blossoms at the foot of the mountain were in full bloom, but there was still some snow around the hotel. Lake Tazawa in spring, especially on a sunny day, is absolutely stunning; the water is a deep blue, just like the sea. We had great weather during our stay. Every morning after breakfast, we'd take the hotel's shuttle bus to Tazawa-ko Station to catch the Komachi Shinkansen to Kakunodate, Akita, and Morioka to see the cherry blossoms. In the afternoons, we'd take the Shinkansen back to Tazawa-ko Station, then the shuttle back to the hotel for dinner and a hot spring bath. The hotel service was excellent, and considering the price, the food was quite good too!"

"Hotel and rooms are old but still nice. Direct Lake View is great. Unfortunately hotel is profit oriented instead of customer oriented. Be customer focused and profit will follow…. Outside onsen is basic but with nice view. Everything overpriced! (Set Dinner 11 000 Yen !! Choose please! Either you upgrade and can ask these over the top prices, or you leave everything in this very old state, but then do not expect people to pay these rates… Also music in corridor too loud. Wakes up everybody around 6AM…. Only hotel where there was no lounge happy hour with some free drinks and snacks…."

"A nice hotel. We drove there and parked the car in the hotel car park which is a mechanical car park. Just make sure you’re prepared to quickly remove the luggage you need before the car is stored away for the night. Parking at the nearby car park at ground level would have been about the same price and probably more convenient for us, our fault for not researching properly.
The staff were very pleasant. The hotel is fairly close to the central park and not that far from the train station. There’s a 7 Eleven down the stairs of the hotel."

"The hotel is a bit dated but clean and the staff are friendly. The hotel offers a complimentary ramen which was a surprise and delicious. The onsen is very nice and located on the 5th floor. One thing to point out is that the hotel does not have noise restriction hours. While I’m not a light sleeper, Japanese walls are thin. My room was on the 5th floor so between traffic to onsen, loud speaking Japanese tourists and children running around, the noise level did not subside until after midnight and started again around 5:30am. Bear in mind, I stayed over a holiday weekend so guests visiting on regular weekends may have a different experience."

"The five-person room was a little cramped, but although the room was a bit old, it was very clean.
Dinner and breakfast were both buffet style; the selection wasn't extensive, but the ingredients were fresh and tasty.
There was a free drink bar and popsicles outside the large public bath, and inside the bath, there were children's toys for soaking, which is rare in Japanese hot springs.
Overall, if you plan to visit nearby attractions, it's a great accommodation choice."

If you are driving , you won’t be able to get their parking slots as it mostly reserved for the regulars. The nearby parking lots charges 400 Y from 4pm-8am so if you arrive shortly after check in time and decide to head out early the next day, you may use the 2 carparks that is right beside the hotel. If you can’t make it in time, the hotel cheapest parking option is behind Lawson where they have monthly season parking lots. It’s 600 yen per night from 3pm to 10am.
room wise, price to value is below average probably becos of high demand in the vicinity. As for cleanliness, can be better improve. My aircon filter and air filter machine was producing really moldy and smell air , probably from previous guests who sweated in the room. Was a big turn off lucky I came during autumn, can just open the window to get cold air in."

"It's a little far from Akita Station, 10 minutes by bus. It takes more than 20 minutes to walk. It's very quiet and worth recommending. Breakfast is a set meal, you can choose Japanese style or noodles. It's average."

PPockyBackpackDuring winter, the road for the last 800 meters before reaching the hotel is closed, and you must walk in. Guests need to park at Okama Onsen first. Before arrival, you are required to inform the hotel of your check-in time so that a staff member can guide you on foot to the property. The staff will help carry your luggage, but if you have many bags, it’s best to inform them in advance.
The highlight of this stay is definitely the walk to the hotel. You walk deep into the forest along towering walls of snow on both sides, and eventually discover the onsen hidden in the woods. It feels truly special and secluded.
The lobby area is not very large, and the number of staff is quite limited, but overall the service was very good. Dinner was served at a counter bar, and the chef was extremely friendly and spoke good English. The receptionist at the lobby, who is from Taiwan, speaks English, Chinese, and Japanese fluently. She explained everything clearly, helped carry our luggage on the way out, and even assisted with clearing snow off our car.
Personally, I found the public onsen area to be a bit disappointing. The floor was icy and slippery, which felt somewhat unsafe. However, the private onsen in the room was excellent — very private, spacious for an in-room bath, with a beautiful view and wonderfully fragrant mineral water.
The room itself was spacious, quiet, and peaceful. Mobile signal does not work inside the hotel, but the hotel provides Wi-Fi, which was stable and fast.
Both breakfast and dinner were very good, and the hotel responded to emails and accommodated our special dietary requests, which we really appreciated.
The only regret was that the snow was extremely deep during our visit, making it hard to fully see and imagine the surrounding scenery.

The room was very nice and clean, with all amenities in good condition. The lounge is very good too, offering free tea and coffee. There's also a place to store luggage for free. To check in you need to call the staff via the machine in the lobby, as there is no staff on site. Overall, great value for money.

MM311636****Service: The service was impeccable. We booked a one-night stay with two meals, and the hotel staff were already waiting for us at the station to pick us up. Because we arrived late, they even held our dinner reservation for us! Our train was cancelled the next day, and the hotel staff patiently explained how to take the bus and provided a timetable. They even drove us to the bus station – the service was excellent, and all of this was free!
Cleanliness: Very clean.
Environment: The hotel is next to a beautiful, pristine forest! The hot spring environment and water quality are top-notch, perfect for honeymooning couples! The tap water is drinkable and tastes incredibly sweet!
Service: The service was the best I've ever experienced at a hotel.

NNingmengqing秋田必访的赏桜赏楓地一定是【角館】，它还是日本历史悠久的武士之鄉，被誉为“奥陆的小京都”。但这里住宿都很贵，尤其在桜花和楓葉季，更是一房难求，枫叶季我提前四个月就预订了(角館民宿風雅)¥996元/2晚含早的低价宿泊，所以这是为数不多的民宿之一。日本女老板英语很好，很热心，早餐由她亲自以當地食材制作，还对外供应午餐和下午茶，也有手作的食品販售。民宿有免費的自行車租借，可以轻松畅逰角館所有的武家屋敷。到这里入住的日本当地人和老外居多，还有台湾人，他们都會英语，像我们这种来自大陆不会日语又不会英语的老人纯属个案。老板娘恐怕我们有什么问题，特意请来角館高校退休的(华人)任老师来问我们有没有问题！老板娘得知我们明天要予约出租車6:30分送角館JR站，但角館的出租車8点钟开始，老板娘在百忙之中亲自送我们到火车站，真的很感动！但是民宿没有接送站服务的，我们抵达時打车到民宿800円。

YYINFirst of all, I booked this hot spring hotel on Saturday and it cost me 33,600 yuan. I thought I could live in a big room, but everything became a mess after two sleeping mats were laid out at dinner time. We couldn't open our luggage because there was no place, and we had to jump to go to the bathroom because there was no way to go. I was really angry. I booked this hotel because it is a LA VISTA group, but the food, both the ingredients and the taste are worth the price. There are also many snacks, water, Yakult, and fresh milk in the lounge after the hot spring, but there is no juice. This is what I find strange. In addition, we often pass by the counter, and the waiters treat you as air. Anyway, the way of this hotel is to come and go. Just now we checked out and put on our shoes, and they turned around when we said byebye, and didn't even come to the door. Am I really expecting too much?

Although the staff were friendly and courteous, the place was fairly bland. The onsen was mediocre and there were no refreshments afterwards unless you wanted to go to a vending machine. Even Dormy Inn provides refreshments after the onsen but at Towado Hotel having to pay for them and not even the nice ones is ridiculous when you have to pay so much to stay here. The same for the relaxation chair. It is coin-operated not complementary.
I would not recommend staying here if you’re looking for a luxury experience because although you pay for that, it’s definitely nowhere near that. Our Western style room was very basic, and it just didn’t have those special finishing touches I had hoped for.
