"The Towada Winter Story Festival was a total bust, but Lake Towada itself was an unexpected delight – absolutely stunning. By chance, I even hiked a portion of the Oirase Stream in the morning. The weather, with snow one minute and clear skies the next, added so much character to the lake's scenery. The hotel room was spacious, and it was quite an interesting check-in experience, using very old-fashioned keys and a metal door."

"The room was spacious, and the view outside the window was especially beautiful on a snowy day. I imagine it would be just as lovely in the lush green summer. The lobby bar offered a good selection including apple juice, cider, and rice wine. The outdoor hot spring was fantastic, allowing you to literally catch snowflakes! The stream-side breakfast and the French dinner were also unique experiences. When it snowed heavily, we had the option to enjoy the French dinner indoors."

"The room was spacious enough. It's a bit far from the JR station, about 150 by taxi. There are also buses, so if it's not snowing, taking the bus is an option. There are plenty of local eateries within a 10-minute walk. I recommend Tengu Yakiniku; their food is excellent."

There's a Lawson convenience store below the hotel, which is very convenient.

"Not a brand-new hotel but the bath area has been renovated and feels very clean. The hot spring water comes from Lake Towada.
Front desk staff were extremely polite and spoke good English. The room is the typical compact Japanese hotel size, perfectly fine for a short stay.
The air conditioning worked really well, but the room did have a slight musty smell.
Conveniently located with a drugstore nearby for shopping, and the train station is just across the street.
The in-room fridge only works as a chiller, no small freezer compartment."

For an additional fee, you can choose either 1) a 20-minute tour of the hostess' tatami room or 2) a 45-minute experience (choose your own course: shamisen, kimono, and dancing). Since it is far from the station, we also provide transportation to Kita-Takaiwa Station.

We stayed at Dormy Inn Aomori in a twin bed room and had a very pleasant experience. We were assigned a high-floor room on the 12th floor with a beautiful ocean view, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
The room was spacious, and the beds were large and very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. The hotel is well-equipped with excellent hot spring facilities, including both indoor and outdoor baths as well as a sauna — a perfect way to relax after a day of exploring Aomori.
Hotel breakfast is delicious and many choices.
We also appreciated the practical amenities provided. The laundry machines are free to use, with a 30-minute wash cycle. The dryer costs only 100 yen for 20 minutes, which is very convenient for longer stays. The room also features a large, modern TV, and the hair dryer provided is a premium Refa brand, which was a nice touch.
Overall, a very comfortable and convenient stay with great onsen facilities and thoughtful amenities. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Aomori.

11381600****The hotel staff were incredibly friendly. The Hakkoda Ropeway was canceled, and we were planning to take a public bus to Sukayu Onsen ourselves. When the staff learned of our plans, they proactively arranged a shuttle bus for us. We also found out about a snow hiking tour at Sukayu Onsen on Xiaohongshu and decided last minute to join it. A special thanks to the front desk attendant, OMA SAN, who helped us communicate with the hiking tour guide, allowing us to successfully join the tour and avoid any regrets on this trip.

GGuest UserWe were two people. The room we stayed at was not big. If you have two suitcases it will be hard to open up both of them at the same time. We didn’t have suitcases, and therefore the space was not a problem for us. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. I lost my gloves at a bus, and they helped me to get them back. You also got apple juice as a welcome drink at the front desk (very nice apple juice!). We used baggage storage after checking out, which was no problem. The room was very clean. When we were there they had an eco plan, which was that the room got cleaned only once at our 4 night stay, but could get towels whenever we wanted. We though it was good from the environment perspective (but we decided to not have any cleaning at all).
Overall I though our stay at this hotel was very good.

LLily, from Hong KongThis backpacker hostel boasts a superb location, just a five-minute walk from the Towada Lake Restaurateur bus stop, making it convenient for exploring and taking photos at the lake. The hostel features a beautiful exterior and comfortable interior with ample shared space. The dormitories have curtains for privacy on each bed and tables and chairs for guests' use. The owners are friendly and helpful; the elderly gentleman, though not fluent in English, is very accommodating, while the younger manager speaks fluent English, making communication easy. The hostel is very affordable, including dinner and breakfast, and the food is decent, with a comfortable restaurant environment. Guests can also purchase discounted tickets to the Towada-so onsen (hot spring) next door, making it an excellent value.

AAngeloooThe room was spacious and comfortable. Even though it was a smoking room, the smell was still bearable, and I could open the window a little. There was a water dispenser by the elevator.
The parking is a mechanical system and costs 1000 yen per day. The hotel front desk is on the fifth floor, and the cheese bread from the bakery on the first floor is really good. This hotel didn't offer a late-night snack, and there was no apple juice available, which some reviews mentioned.

AAnonymous UserIt's about an 8-minute walk from Aomori Station to the hotel, which is located in a building. The front desk isn't on the ground floor; you need to take an elevator up. The room is indeed quite small; a 28-inch suitcase can barely be opened. If you don't have high expectations for room conditions, this place is worth considering, and the price is relatively good value for money. They also offer complimentary facial cleanser, makeup remover, and face cream at the front desk, which is a nice touch!
