If you cross the Kaiun Bridge over the Kitakami River from Morioka Station, you'll find a large downtown area leading to Morioka Castle Ruins Park. The hotel was located on the north side of this downtown area. The lounge on the first floor offers a welcome drink service to warm you up. Rice balls and soup are also served on weekday evenings. This is what a standard single room looks like. It was comfortable during the cold season, with sliding doors to keep out the cold air from the windows and a shower toilet with a hot water heater. As the reviews said, breakfast featured many dishes made with local ingredients. There was such a wide variety that I couldn't try everything. I was particularly satisfied with the local cuisine. This was my first visit to Morioka, and I would definitely stay at this hotel again next time.

Overall very good place but a little difficult to find without maps because the sign on the front is not very big nor well lit. also the main entrance is not where you expect it but below ground level.

Richmond Hotel Morioka Ekimae Located directly opposite JR Morioka Station, accessible via an underground passage. It's also convenient to walk along the sidewalk at ground level if you have luggage. There's a Lawson convenience store downstairs, and you can access it from the hotel with your room card. We checked in at 2:45 PM. We had booked a compact twin room (non-smoking), but the hotel upgraded us to a larger room with three beds. The moment we stepped into the room, two words came to mind: 'utter comfort.' There was plenty of space with three beds, a sofa, a small coffee table, and a work desk. The sink was outside the bathroom, with a separate wet and dry area. There was also a clothes dryer and a multi-functional charging cable. From the bedside, we could see Kaiun Bridge and JR Morioka Station. Morioka Castle Site Park was only about a 15-minute walk away. The Dendenmushi Morioka Loop Bus is also available for use. The room's soundproofing was excellent; we could barely hear any train noise. #JapanTravel #TohokuJapan #Morioka #RichmondHotelMoriokaEkimae #Hotel #MyTravelDiary #IndependentTravel

This is a highly recommended and convenient hotel right in Morioka. The location is perfect: it's situated directly across from the train station, easily accessible via the underground walkway. It's also near Kaiunbashi, one of Morioka's signature spots, offering a great scenic view. For ultimate convenience, there's a 7-Eleven located right on the ground floor of the hotel. Beyond the location, the staff are very nice and incredibly helpful. The lobby provides an impressive array of amenities, more generous than many hotels I've visited. The room size is comfortable, and the bathroom is spacious, meeting the excellent standards of the Daiwa Roynet brand.

I am a US traveler on business. I have visited Kashoen before and based on my experiences it is the only hotel I will ever stay at in Hanamaki. The hotel staff are the kindest, most caring, and passionate people I have met at a hotel. The amenities are fantastic, the hotel food is phenomenal, and my stay is always relaxing. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. There is a nice nature trail nearby with a river that is beautiful as well. If you are in Hanamaki or are looking for somewhere to enjoy a peaceful weekend at, I suggest Kashoen.

The hotel is located in Hanamaki Onsen Village, which is a group of three hotels. You can go to the hot springs in all three hotels, but I only went to the Momijikan, which has both outdoor and indoor hot springs. The area is not small and very comfortable. The room is also large, and the breakfast is rich in variety, with Japanese and Western food. There are also sukiyaki, local milk and ice cream. The hotel also has free folk performances in the lobby every night, which is very unique. If it is spring and summer, the rose garden near the hotel should also be beautiful. A very recommended hotel. The disadvantage is that the surrounding public transportation is not very convenient. You can only make an appointment to take the free shuttle bus from the hotel to Shin-Hanamaki Station. Although there are ordinary buses, there are very few buses.

The stay was smooth, we arrived at 7:30 in the evening, one berth and two meals, the food was rich and delicious, there was no more reassuring and satisfying than the dining at the accommodation, and the family said it was good. This hotel chain features night ramen service, which is delicious. After taking a bath, Meimei sleeps, Japanese-style relaxation holiday style, I like 😘

Before staying at this hotel, I stayed at the Crown Hotel in Ambi Ski Resort for five days. Later, when Crown ran out of room, we booked this nearby hotel. The room is very big and clean, the facilities are very new, and the view outside the window is beautiful. Except for convenience, everything else beats Crown. But please note that you must not lose the room key. If you lose it, you will have to replace the entire set of locks and you will be compensated 100,000 yen. Breakfast has few varieties but is filling. We rented a car and drove to the ski resort, which was very convenient. I will stay here again next time I come to Ambi for skiing!

This hotel boasts an elegant environment, attentive service, clean and comfortable rooms, and complete facilities, making it a relaxing and enjoyable stay. It's definitely worth staying again and would be highly recommended! Unfortunately, the hotel provided the wrong room type. Fortunately, trip.com offered a solution, which was helpful.

GGuest UserThe location is beautiful and the views from the car park assured us we had chosen well. Check in was helpful and all facilities were fully explained at this time, allowing us to book our dining time. The room was comfortable and traditional; the view, amazing! With an afternoon of sunshine, time was taken to enjoy the view in a temperature controlled setting. There was a beautiful tea set and tea provided along with some complementary snacks and water. The toiletries provided were lovely and I shall certainly be looking to purchase these for my home. Dinner was a Chinese style buffet, with an excellent selection of dishes. Barbecues for the table and delicious sashimi and hand prepared sushi. Soups, stews, salad and more! To follow was an assortment of cakes and ice creams. Staff were very helpful and polite and the food was filling and delicious. We then retired to the hotel bar where we were again greeted by a lovely member of staff. Upon return to our room, futons had been prepared and the room made ready for sleep. These were surprisingly comfortable. Breakfast was also delicious with a huge array of dishes to choose from. Check out was simple and staff were helpful and polite. I will definitely be returning! I

MMissCDThe best ski in and ski out and Onsen hotel in Japan so far! We loved the hotel so much in Oct 2025 so we rebooked and came again from Dec 20-24, 2025. 1. Very convenient for ski experience. Ski in and ski out. Ski rental and ski coach school are just besides hotel. Good experience for rentals and coaches hiring. 2. Breakfast and dinner buffets are great and so yummy! The food does change every night to give you diversified variation to choose from. Very delicate food preparations by great chefs so don’t worry you will never get bored. 3. Onsen is also great great great! Great view and women and men get alternate the hot spring pool everyday. 4. First floor relaxing area is great great! You have self service bar of juice / soda / coffee and popsicles. 5. The hotel staffs are so nice and make you feel at home. Motoyo-San is extremely friendly and her English is so fluent!!! We were very lucky to have her help out during our stay. 6. 3rd floor is newly renovated so pls try this beautiful room next time! Highly recommend!!!! Great for family and couple trips!

GGuest UserThe location is good for the family ski holiday with all facilities available for this ski-in/ski-out hotel. The breakfast has a good variety while the dinner options are good especially the Teppanyaki restaurant with the local beef and abalone. The Japanese restaurant was also good with various dishes to choose from. The outdoor onsen at 白樺之湯 really worth the visit after the ski and I’d recommend to enjoy at day time. We have also tried the hotel massage services and it was really good and relaxing! The only thing for improvement is that the room themselves are a bit old and maybe should consider renovations in coming years. The shops have many food and drinks and souvenirs. We also got a big pack of fireworks that we can pay together with kids just outside the hotel on the snow slope. Overall we enjoyed the stay and the slopes and ski school are magnificent!

LLanie KirklandA group of four of us booked a cabin on a whim, and I’m so happy we did!! We did a two-day ski trip to Geto Kogen, and I cannot stress enough how convenient these cabins were to the resort itself. We stayed overnight in between two days at the resort. The drive up to the resort was less than 20 minutes. The cabin itself was super cozy, so comfortable, had great amenities for the short time we were there, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Everything was very clean, the heater was already on when we arrived, which was a very thoughtful touch, and we were able to hang all our snow gear to dry thanks to the copious amounts of hangars available. We felt it was a crazy good deal based on the price, location, and availability to book it just a few days in advance. We will definitely be back in the summer to use the grill and go golfing at the country club!

DDevI stayed at this place during my hike through the Michinoku coastal trail. This is a good choice before you attempt Kurosakiso and Kitayamazaki coast. This can be reached easily from Horinai station. Cross the big bridge and walk a bit more, you can see the sign to the left. The hotel has nice indoor and outdoor onsen. Many locals come here to use the onsen. They probably have annual or life membership to use the onsen. It is a nice opportunity to chat with some of them. When I was there, it was raining and hence I could not enjoy the view, however, using onsen after hiking in the rain was quite relaxing. On a clear day, the ocean can be seen from the room window. Dinner can be ordered and is quite good at a reasonable price. The next day, the hotel shuttle dropped me to the train station which was quite nice, I did not have to walk in rain.

HHr waSelf-driving car ありで utilization. Parking lot は no material. It is a small hotel, but there are a number of rooms or more parking lots, so it seems that you cannot park your car. A system where you can give a card key at check-in and put it in a box when you go out and leave it as it is. You don't need to leave it at the front desk when you go out. Simple but no trouble. It is a little far from the nearest Ichinoseki station and the downtown area in front of the station (?), but it is a distance that cannot be walked. Is it a little closer from the east exit? It seems to be within the taxi first ride fare range. There are seven eleven and drug stores (food super type goods) within 3 minutes walk of the inn, and there is no particular inconvenience in shopping. The room doesn't feel that big, but it has everything you need to stay as a business and it's a good impression. There is no particular concern about beds and bedding. WIFI speed is no problem, and the sound of other rooms is not particularly heard and comfortable. Best environment if you don't ask for excessive service. Free breakfast is a system that takes bread, small bowls, yogurt (Danon), and beverages by yourself. It's simple, but if you don't need ”guts from the morning!”, you can even feel that it's just right. The price is the lowest among the hotels near ichinoseki station, and there is no shortage of service if it is a business use with a car. I think it will be a good choice for those who do not ask for extra service for accommodation. Personally I was able to stay comfortably.

YYoshimasaIn the natural environment surrounded by mountains and forests, the clear stream behind the inn flows gurgling, healing the body and mind. It is fun to enjoy each of the four hot springs that flow directly from the source, but we especially recommend the deepest hot spring in Japan. This is a self-propelled natural rock bath ”Shirasaru no Yu”. This is a very rare hot spring. Due to its depth, you can stand up to enter, but it is evenly distributed throughout your body. It is said that applying hot water pressure can effectively promote blood circulation. The hall also has a nostalgic atmosphere, as if traveling to the past. The hospitality of the staff is also very attentive. If you have the opportunity to stay in Hanamaki, it is a hotel worth staying in.
