Ah HueiA nice hotel to rest after a long day drive. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly and polite. There's a free parking beside the hotel too. And you can enjoy the hot spring in the hotel for free. There is a small bath tub in the room's toilet too. This hotel is quite close to 高干穗峡. The reason I choose this hotel is because of the distance to 高干穗峡 and they are the most affordable hotel within that area. Overall this is a nice hotel, I will definitely visit there again if I go to Kyushu again!

From the bottom of my heart, I’d like to thank all staff of the hotel. My 11-old son and I stayed there for just one night, because we were on our way to visit gorgeous Toungenkyu hydrangeas park in the other town, so we chose to stay in Hyugashi, and that was definitely the right decision! I didn’t know that there was no public transportation assess to the park, because it’s located far upon to the mountains. But I never give up So, I decided to get to the park by hitchhiking! And one of kind managers of the hotel wrote the name of the park in Japanese characters on a big sheet of paper to be seen from far apart for drivers. Besides, he told us where it could be possible to stop a car. So we did it! First, we went to the nearest town by train, and tried the hitching there. There was a nice lady who took us to the park and back to Hyugashi, we were so grateful to her!!! The local people were kind to us everywhere whenever it was a restaurant or a station. We will never forget the kindness of the local people!!!
We liked that izakaya on the first floor in the building. Moreover, we liked that nice quiet town Hyugashi because of its people! We wish you all the best!!!

The room is big with all the amenities. Our room is facing the sea, we were able to see the sun rise, super gorgeous! The onsen is also great, free for us, and it is open to the public with surcharge. The hostel location is 10/10, close to the Aoshima island, and there is a big park nearby! We enjoyed our stay.

This feels more like a self-service business hotel, but its location is incredibly convenient, right in the heart of Miyazaki. The hotel offers great amenities like a microwave and laundry room, which are really handy. We had breakfast at the hotel; the quality was average, but they had a wide variety of fresh vegetables, which helped us get our greens and fiber for the day. We stayed for three nights, and Miyazaki truly exceeded our expectations with its cleanliness, tranquility, comfort, and pleasant climate. The people are warm and genuine, and things are affordable. It's a perfect place for a relaxing getaway!

PONKANTRIPThe location was good, close to Takachiho Gorge. The room was clean and comfortable, but there were many small insects. The food was just okay. I had requested special dietary accommodations in advance, but they weren't reflected at all. People with allergies should be cautious. When I contacted them about possibly being late for check-in due to a flight delay, the owner's response was a blunt 'that's not possible.' As someone in the service industry, I found that reply questionable. I believe there could have been a more polite way to say it. It was unpleasant. Many of the staff are foreign, and while I appreciate their effort, communication in Japanese was difficult. The amenities, like toothbrushes, were plentiful. There was also a drink bar with bottled tea and alcohol. They even provided chairs and cushions specifically for Kagura performances. The hairdryer and iron were from ReFa, but the hairdryer was small and noisy, hurting my ears. The iron was too small to be useful. However, some might find the amenities and facilities satisfactory. I didn't use the public bath, but apparently, it's not a hot spring and isn't very large. My friend who went with me said it was just right for about three people.

The hotel is beautiful and it has great amenities (top restaurants including a high ranked steakhouse,, an amazing bakery, a gym, hot spring, laundry room and several stores including a kimono rental store. The hotel is located close to malls and the subway station. The staff are very kind and are always willing to assist even if they are not proficient in English . The breakfast buffet is also great and was included in my reservation. Visiting the steakhouse is a must , it is a tad pricey but worth the expenditure. Miyazaki is known for its beef and chicken. My only negative comment pertains to showers in the standard rooms (there are three kinds of rooms). The showers are very dated, have a weird smell and the shower heads are what you would normally find in a bathroom from the 70s. The rooms are spacious and clean. However, if I had known the showers and tub were so old I would have upgraded to a deluxe room. Overall the hotel is great and it is well priced for its amenities.

I’ve stayed in the twin bedroom several times before, but this was my first time staying in this type of room.
Although the building is old, it was clean and well-maintained.
The bedding was a simple futon-style setup with a mattress laid directly on the floor, but it was very comfortable and I had no issues sleeping.
Since the windows are covered only with shoji screens, light comes in from outside at night, and it gets quite bright early in the morning as well. I’m sensitive to light, so I used an eye mask while sleeping.
As for noise, nothing in particular bothered me, and I was able to stay comfortably.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Shikimi. The staff was delightful. They were all so nice and helpful. We also loved the food and they went over and beyond to accommodate our dietary needs. The location was perfect for walking to local tourist spots. If I ever return to Takachiho, I would stay there again.

Good location, walking distance to JR station and Amu Plaza, where many shopping and dining options available.
On site car park limited lots in B1/B2, especially when they have functions in hotel in the evening. So need to park at nearby carparks, suggested open air car park was 100m away.
Hotel parking charges 1000¥ per overnight. Public parking is 500$¥ from 6pm to 8am, after that is by hourly charge.
