The hotel reception is very detailed, the location is very convenient, and the scenery is beautiful. The only thing is the power outage in the morning, which causes some inconvenience. Next time I come to New Zealand South Island, I will arrange to stay again.

The location of the hotel is very good. You can go downstairs to take a walk in the city at night. The room is clean and tidy, and there are many types of drinks that can be brewed. The big bed is very comfortable and I fell asleep soon after I got in. This price is good value for money and worth recommending.

Location was great, and easily walkable from the Interislander Ferry Terminal and Intercity bus stop. The rooms were also tidy and well equipped with necessary amenities, only gripe was with the kettle which looks old and has some stains around the bottom.

The facilities were fine. The double room we reserved came with only that.. a double bed. Not even a nightstand next to the bed or a table in the room. There was also no heater or fan and the room felt musty with a bit of moisture in the air. Could use a dehumidifier when it's raining out like it was this day/night. The other guests in the hotel were the problem. I was woken up at 4AM by someone upstairs in the smoking area chatting so loudly on their phone... I had to get out of my bed in the middle of the night and ask them to go somewhere else or end their call. It was absurd. In the middle of the night someone cooked a very fragrant meal that made the entire building smell - it was so intense that it even permeated into  our room which was the furthest room away from the kitchen... not a great stay when you can't even sleep through the night and feel like you are sitting in the middle of someone's meal.. Not worth the price

It's about a 10 minute walk from the ferry and intercity bus stops, but the owner is very kind and welcoming. And best of all, the free breakfast. This price is a bargain, including the free breakfast.

Stayed for one night and overall it was quite comfortable. Although it is not in the center of town, it is only ten minutes' walk from the intercity station and train station, and a few minutes' walk is the commercial area. If you don’t have much luggage, you can walk there. The kitchen can be used for cooking and is very clean. In the camping area behind the hotel, you can take a walk after dinner and study various RVs, which is an eye-opener. Blenheim is too young. I learned that there are no buses on weekends after I arrived. The popular museums and chocolate factories in the area are far away without driving. It took me 70 minutes to get to the museum. Fortunately, an employee of the museum sent me back to the hotel after get off work, otherwise I would have to go all the way back.

Good, comfortable motel. There is a mini kitchen. Two bedrooms, convenient to stay with the family. The room is clean, everything you need to eat. It's nice to swim in the pool.

The hotel is located in the downtown area of Blenheim, the capital of Marlborough Province, the famous white wine producing region of New Zealand. It is within 10 minutes walking distance from Blenheim railway station, bus station or downtown square. There are plenty of parking spaces in the hotel square, which is very convenient for walking and driving. The hotel rooms have a wide view and beautiful scenery. Although the rooms are a bit old, all the facilities and bedding are very tidy, clean and comfortable. All the staff are smiling, patient and enthusiastic. The hotel offers three meals a day, the menu is not extensive, but the food quality and taste are excellent. We stayed for two days. The experience was excellent and the price/performance ratio was very high. Going to a hotel not to be missed in Blenheim, highly recommended!

We stayed at Portage Hotel as a family with three children and chose it as one of the final stops of our four-week road trip. It turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of our journey. We were genuinely impressed by the location, the service, and the overall facilities. The setting is simply stunning, peaceful and scenic, yet the hotel offers a wide range of activities, which made it perfect for traveling with kids. Despite being high season, the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and truly customer-oriented. You never felt rushed or overlooked, which is not always a given during busy holiday periods. We especially appreciated that many activities are included at no extra cost, such as canoes and stand-up paddleboards. There is also a pool, which was a big plus for the children after long days of exploring. The rooms are well equipped and thoughtfully designed. A small but lovely detail was the beautifully scented selection of shampoos and creams provided in the room, which added a very pleasant touch to the stay. The value for money feels absolutely justified. The food was good, the drink selection more than sufficient, and the wine list offered something for everyone. All in all, a fantastic place for families and travelers looking for comfort, nature, and genuine hospitality. We would happily return and can highly recommend the Portage Hotel.

GGuest UserWe took this as a 2 day getaway, expecting it to be top notch... especially given the price of $480/night PLUS $120 each to get there by water taxi. We stayed in Endeavour unit 18. Unfortunately, for the price, it fell well below expectations. No kitchenette as advertised, no TV, the 'King size bed' turns out to be 2 single beds of different elevations pushed together, with a 'step' between them. There IS a spa pool, but contains more filth than water - it was truly disgusting. In The restaurant we ordered an expensive meal but quickly found the Cray fish was far from fresh and the lamb rack was more sheep ribs than Lamb(!) We ate it, just because of where we are and it wasn't inedible, but for a meal that cost over $300 with wine it was a long way from what we would expect elsewhere at even close to the same price point.... and before we had even finished our meal, at just 8pm having sat down at 7pm, we were told the place was closing and could we please finish in our room. Although we had already paid for the 2 nights, we left after just 1, with no refund for the unused night - truthfully I didn't push the issue, I just wanted to get home. Will never return.

MMatthew LimHad a lovely stay at Scenic Hotel Marlborough to end off our trip in New Zealand. The hotel room was much bigger than our previous hotel stays, where we could comfortably open both our large-sized luggage to repack. Apart from the spacious rooms, we love how clean the toilets were and how tidy our rooms are done up by room service each time we return from our day out. The stand out however, was the service provided to us by the staff. We arrived around midnight as we had a long drive from Fox Glacier to get here but the staff was ever ready to receive us, and even gave us recommendations on what to visit around Marlborough during our stay. During our stay, there were occasions where we opted to buy food back to enjoy in our hotel room and the room service was readily available to provide us whatever we needed to have a lovely meal in, including plates, wine glasses and even condiments. Highly recommended!!

GGuest UserAn excellent boutique experience. Sennen House has a story to tell, and it’s a beautiful place to discover it. Set in a quiet location, its grounds are fantastic, utilising every piece of space cleverly; the welcoming croquet set was a taste of what was to come. The room we stayed in was great. Nice views and good spaces. Having a separate living and dining area is always a bonus, but its well appointed kitchen with a coffee machine was an extra one! The little baking treats left each day were lovely touches and were enjoyed. It was lovely to organise and portion out our own breakfast each morning, and having ownership of this was a bonus. If we are lucky enough to visit Picton again, we would definitely make this venue our first choice.

EErma from CanadaPrivately owned, friendly owners. The room was roomy and clean. There is a sitting area out the back patio doors which was good. The outdoor furniture is a bit older. The bed and linens were good for a 2 night stay. We just needed a place to stay while we toured the area. Havelock where the postal boat tour is just a 35 minute drive away. There is a Countdown grocery store right across the street which was convenient. There are no restaurants within walking distance.

The location is a bit off, not in the core area of the town, but it also brings a rare peace. The standard Motel, the car parked at the door, the front desk after 10 o'clock in the evening after work, but fortunately generally do not need any services. This is a family self-driving tour, booked a two-bedroom suite, spacious and comfortable, and very clean. Fatigue for a day, I can take a hot bath, sleep in a soft and comfortable bed, and be happy again. The boss seems to be Chinese, warm and hospitable, and the boss is very warm. Check-in and check-out are simple and efficient, and this is a good recommendation.
