This is a small place, don't make too many demands. The hotel is a super historic hotel, things are relatively old, don't mess it up. The proprietress is also very friendly and tells you all the information. Of course, wifi does not work well. . I am the spark phone booth outside. Of course, if you change your mindset, look at the scenery more and use less Wi-Fi. Make dinner by yourself and cook everything. Opposite is the lake with nice scenery, it's good to go for a walk.
Excellent value BUT the beds need replacing - they are too ”bouncy”. It was lovely to arrive to a very warm room - heaters all on.
Otherwise we loved our stay and our meal in the bar.
Location was decent for a small town, with a mini mart nearby and several dining options around.
The staff were very nice and friendly. One of my family members wasn’t sure how to use the heated blanket, so they didn’t take it out, which made it look like the room wasn’t used. The next day, the staff actually called to check if we were okay, as they were concerned we might have caught a cold from not using the heated blanket. I thought that was a really thoughtful gesture.
It is a relatively large resort in Fox Glacier, close to the town center. There are accommodation facilities in the park and you can also camp. The children's playground is quite large and there are children's bicycles. There are public kitchens and toilets. The accommodation is very clean and the service staff is friendly and enthusiastic. The only drawback is that there are potholes on the road occasionally, which would be better if they can be repaired.
The room is quite big and clean overall. There is a kitchen dining table! You can take pictures of the Milky Way directly outside the room at night! The front desk staff is very nice and helped me book a hike on the Fox Glacier! This is the back door entrance to the hotel. I didn't take a picture of the room.
Very quaint historic hotel in the middle of Kumara, not far from Greymouth.
The room was clean and updated, as was the bathroom, with a great shower.
Only one disappointing feature was that we could hear the rain on the adjacent roof, but if it hadn’t rained, then it would be perfect. Lovely meal in the restaurant too!
I got upgraded to another room so I was thankful for that !
The room smelled a bit (moldish) even though the guests already there had opened the window but by night, it got better.
Otherwise, the room was big and had a heater which was really convenient.
I was happy to see a sink in the room but it wasn't usable unfortunately. I thought it would have been nice!
The kitchen is well equipped, there are books available in the dining room!
Emplacement is very good, close to the train station and a few activities.
I chose this hotel because it was right in town with complimentary parking. Views of the river and up the Grey Valley were nice.
Chose not to dine here, as the restaurant was in the bar and quite small.
Sadly, there was mo aircon in the room or any building air circulation, which made the room a bit stuffy and certainly warm. There was a plug-in, free-standing fan. The door to the small balcony could open but it had no screen, so flies came in.
The shower tray filled with water after each shower. Not a pleasant experience.
I couldn't get the room safe to work....seemed like the lock was jammed on.
Towels were fluffy and crisp white.
Beds were comfy with plenty of pillows and extra blankets.
Good size tv with large selection of channels.
Mini fridge, complimentary tea, coffee and milk etc.
The house is very good and our whole family likes it. It is very clean, the bathroom is large, the living room is large enough to put three suitcases, there is a kitchen for cooking, and the environment is also good and I like it very much.
A pleasant few days in calm surroundings. Great ocean and sunset views. Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and eager to satisfy any requests throughout our stay. Accommodation was immaculately clean and well presented.

FfishblackWe stopped by a motel where we were staying, and the guy at the front desk was Chinese, so we could communicate without any problems in Chinese. He also recommended two restaurants nearby, which were delicious and had large portions.
CCHUN MEIVery new motel, but the decor is modern. The facilities are very good and there are very comfortable kitchen equipment. The overall price/performance ratio is very high, and it is the favorite one in the motel where South Island has lived.

PPCNGWhen booking the motel, it was stated that it was for 4 adults. When I checked in, I found that there was only one room and a bunk bed in the living room, which was not very comfortable. In addition, the toilet is in the room, and someone will be woken up when going to the toilet at night. It is not suitable for more than 2 people to stay.
GGuest UserI'm completely satisfied. In the morning, I was showering, but the hot water didn't come out, so I used cold water. After getting dressed, the power went out for a moment, which was a bit of a surprise. Everything else is completely satisfactory.
