Located in Zermatt, Switzerland, at an elevation of 3,089 meters, the Gornergrat Observatory is one of the best spots to admire the iconic Swiss landmark—the Matterhorn. The red "Grand Tour of Switzerland" shield on the observation deck is a must-capture classic photo spot for many travelers! Frame yourself with the mountain through the red border for a perfect souvenir shot! However, when we hiked up for the sunrise that day, the clouds were blocking the view the whole time ಥ_ಥ It was a bit of a bummer that we didn't get to see the legendary golden peak with our own eyes. There are no private cars, only electric taxis, horse-drawn carriages, charming wooden chalets, and fresh mountain air everywhere. The town of Mürren is seriously super chill! 🇨🇭 It's a car-free village at an altitude of around 1,650 meters 🏡, and a major gateway to the Schilthorn ⛰️. The entire village only has about 450 residents 👥. With absolutely no noisy traffic 🚗❌, you're left with a wonderfully slow-paced, laid-back lifestyle and an authentic mountain vibe 🪵. Traditional wooden chalets are built into the hillside 🏚️, their windowsills bursting with colorful flowers 🌸. Looking into the distance, you're met with the awe-inspiring peaks of the Alps 🏔️. Strolling down the streets 🚶♂️, it truly feels like you've stepped right into a fairytale town ✨. Personally 👀, compared to other popular attractions full of tourists 👥, Mürren isn't overcrowded 🍃. Instead, it perfectly matches exactly what you want if you're looking to quietly soak in the purest Swiss mountain village scenery 🏞️. Later, we walked through the town to another cable car station 👣 and took a roughly 4-minute cable car ride up to the Allmendhubel Flower Valley 🚡. In the blink of an eye, the landscape switched from a tranquil mountain village to a vast alpine meadow 🌲. Summer is truly the peak season here ☀️. A random yet spectacular array of alpine wildflowers bursts into bloom everywhere 🌻, looking like a masterpiece painted by Mother Nature herself 🎨. The visual impact is doubly stunning 🤩! For the way back, we decided to skip the cable car ❌ and chose a hiking trail to slowly make our way down the mountain 🥾. That day, we bumped into maybe 5 or 6 other tourists on the trail in total 🚶♀️, giving it an incredible sense of privacy 🍃. We traversed the expansive meadows and flower valleys 🌿, stepping on the green grass 👣. The melodious sound of cowbells drifted to our ears 🔔, mingling with the rustle of the micro breeze blowing through the flora 💨. The healing vibes of the whole valley were maxed out 🧘♂️, completely washing away all everyday work stress 💻❌. Looking up, there were the spectacular snow mountains 🏔️, and looking down, a sea of flowers swaying in the breeze 🌷. It's simply the perfect check-in spot 📸. Every step was so therapeutic 🥰, making me subconsciously slow my pace 🕒. My overall rating is: a perfect 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! The Allmendhubel Flower Valley might not be as signature as the Jungfraujoch or Schilthorn 🗺️, but it's absolutely a summer-limited hidden gem 💎. If you're visiting Mürren 🇨🇭, I highly recommend carving out half a day to come here 👍. On a trip, the three biggest expenses are usually accommodation, food, and transportation. And if you know how to buy tickets wisely, you can save a significant amount. If your itinerary involves continuous travel over 3, 4, 6, 8, or 15 days, the Swiss Travel Pass is a very convenient option as you can practically just hop on a train and go. But if your itinerary includes days off in one city, or you're willing to plan ahead, I recommend combining the **Swiss Half Fare Card + Saver Day Pass + Super Saver Ticket**. 🎟️ The Swiss Half Fare Card is valid for one month and offers up to 50% off train, bus, ferry, and many cable car fares throughout Switzerland. 🎟️ The Saver Day Pass is a great deal if you book early. Some days I found tickets for only around 50 CHF, or as low as 25–29 CHF when combined with the Half Fare Card. The earlier you book, the cheaper it gets. 🎟️ The Super Saver Ticket is perfect for fixed-time journeys, offering even more savings if you don't need much flexibility. This method is slightly less flexible than the Swiss Travel Pass, but it can save you hundreds of francs on your trip. You can reach the mountain in a 5-minute walk. The rooms are quite large by Swiss standards. From the balcony, you can see the magical hills and snowy mountains. The rooftop infinity heated pool offers views of the snow-capped peaks. In the evening, you can enjoy the golden sunlight on the mountains and a double rainbow. The hotel also features a 700-square-meter spa center and sauna rooms. The mini bar offers free drinks and snacks every day.

During my trip to Milan, I decided to spend two days in Lugano, Switzerland. I booked a FlixBus ticket for only €15, and the journey was easy, comfortable, and filled with beautiful scenery, The journey from Milan to Lugano only took 1.5 hours. Lugano is a charming city surrounded by mountains and the stunning Lake Lugano. As soon as I arrived, I was impressed by the peaceful atmosphere, clean streets, and breathtaking views. One of the highlights of my trip was exploring Lake Lugano. I enjoyed walking along the lakeside promenade and taking a boat tour on the lake. Cruising across the crystal-clear water while admiring the colorful villages, green hills, and mountain landscapes was an unforgettable experience. Another memorable part of the trip was the mountain tour. I visited Monte San Salvatore, one of Lugano’s most famous mountains. The funicular ride to the top was an experience in itself, offering spectacular views along the way. From the summit, I could see Lake Lugano, the surrounding Swiss Alps, and even parts of Italy. The panoramic view was absolutely breathtaking and made the trip worthwhile. I also spent time exploring Parco Ciani, a beautiful lakeside park filled with flowers, giant trees, and relaxing walking paths. The town center was equally charming, with elegant architecture, cozy cafés, and a wonderful blend of Swiss and Italian culture. Although I only spent two days in Lugano, it felt like the perfect escape from the busy city.
