Constantine - The City of Cliffs
Algeria - Constantine
💫The city is built entirely on steep cliffs. Many places are so high that even those who aren't afraid of heights will feel weak in the knees. It's fascinating to think about how the city was originally built.
The city has been an important military fortress for 2,000 years, surviving the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, and the Ottoman Empire.
💫Ancient City Walls: As a symbol of the city, the ancient city walls have witnessed Constantine's glorious history. Stroll along the walls to enjoy the beautiful city views and feel the weight of history.
💫Constantine National Museum: The museum houses many precious artworks and historical artifacts, making it a must-visit place to learn about the city's history and culture. 🕋
💫The Emir Abdelkader Mosque is the largest mosque in Constantine and the second largest mosque in Algeria. The entire building is pure white, and the interior is luxuriously decorated.
💫The Constantine Arch of Triumph was built in 315 AD and is the latest of the three remaining triumphal arches in Rome. It was built to celebrate Emperor Constantine's complete victory over his powerful enemy Maxentius in 312 AD and the unification of the empire.
💫Suspension Bridge - Sidi M'Cid: This is Constantine's famous suspension bridge, located near the palace. It spans the cliffs and not only connects the city but is also one of Constantine's most famous attractions.

Along the Mediterranean coast, a landmark building, the century-old post office
Algeria·Africa The post office, with a history of more than 110 years, has become a landmark building of a city, which is the Algiers Grand Post Office in the capital of North Africa, Algeria.
Algiers is a city with an interesting distribution of old and new towns. The old town is on the hillside, and if you want to visit the ancient city, you have to climb the mountain; if you want to stroll through the new town, you just walk along the Mediterranean coast. The old post office is located on the People's Square along the Mediterranean coast, lined up with many European-style buildings around it. It was designed by two French engineers and took Algerians 5 years to build.
The post office is a typical Moorish-style building with three horseshoe-shaped arches and a domed arch, which is a very eye-catching building in People's Square. The post office is currently undergoing interior renovations, preparing to be converted into a museum, and we can only admire this grand building with a long history from the outside.
Guarding the People's Square, this is also the busiest place in the city, with shops and coffee stalls around the square, bustling with people. Seeing Chinese tourists appear in the square, Algerians will show a bright smile. Among the three North African countries, only Algeria has the most Chinese people. They are the builders of our country's Belt and Road construction projects and are a group that is highly respected among the locals. Therefore, in Algeria, we feel the enthusiasm and respect of people from a foreign land, and some young people take the initiative to take photos with us to commemorate.

A Memorable Stay At Afric Hotel, Algiers
#freehotelstay
I had originally reserved a room at this hotel well in advance, booking a four-night stay from October 30 to November 3, believing my marathon was on November 4. When I discovered my Marathon was on the 4th, I approached the reception requesting if I could check out on the 2nd because I wanted to stay with the other runners on the eve of my marathon and return on the 4th. I was told there was no issue. However, when I discovered I could be picked up from my current hotel on the morning of the marathon by the organizers, I canceled my previous arrangement and decided to spend my entire time in Algeria at Afric Hotel. I simply extended my stay in the hotel by booking an additional two days from the 3rd to the 5th when I will fly out of Algiers.
On the 3rd of November which was the day of the race, I checked out before 6 am knowing I would be picked up for the Start line at 6 am. My plan was to check into the new room I had booked when I returned after the marathon.
When I came back, exhausted, smelly, dirty, and eager for a warm bath, I was informed there was no available room. The elderly receptionist who was on duty was firm in refusing to provide a room, even though I explained that Booking.com had already charged my card, and the payment was non-refundable. I attempted to show him proof, but he insisted he did not want to see any proof because he was sure there were no rooms.
Too fatigued to argue further, I sat down in the reception area and messaged the hotel through the booking app. I fell asleep and woke up to the receptionist attempting to show me something on his phone. The manager was on the line and wanted to speak with me. He profusely apologized and confirmed that there were no rooms available, except for the one I had checked out of that morning. He suggested I take that room for the evening, and my room would be changed in the morning.
I agreed to this arrangement, and the following morning, I was upgraded to a room with a sea view.
Will I return to this hotel? Absolutely! I have nothing but praise for this hotel, and I highly recommend it. I understand that the elderly receptionist may have had an off day, so I'm willing to overlook that minor hiccup.
