A World full of Purple Flowers and Butterflies🦋💜
This is one of the best destinations for a walking group in nature in the north Netherlands. It is at Holtingerveld. You can park your car near the tourist center.
☕️🍰There are some nice cafes near the tourist center for you to start your day and also relax there after the walk. I had the seasonal berry dessert. It’s so delicious! Other friends have some yummy sandwiches🥪😋
💜If you go there in September, the entire field is full of purple flowers, called Heather. What a beautiful name, right?💜
🦋Butterfly farm🦋
At the butterfly farm near the tourist center, there are many beautiful butterflies from the tropical climate. Thanks to this farm, I get to see blue butterflies for the first time. The exact blue butterflies of this magical emoji “🦋.” I also get to see a lot of butterflies from Asia. The temperature and the humidity at the butterfly farm makes me feel like home🥰
🏞️History of Holtingerveld🏞️
This walking trip is actually both natural and historical. There are historical landmarks like the crater from The Second World War. There is also a Jewish landmark in between the walk. There are signs of history stories on the way throughout the trails. If you’re interested in history, it’ll be a nice choice to go here.

Amsterdam solo female travel
I endured the longest economy flight of my life, 14 hours and 20 minutes, with Swiss Airlines 🇨🇭, transferring in Hong Kong and Zurich, and finally arrived in the Netherlands 🇳🇱.
As soon as I arrived, I had a hearty steak sandwich 🥩 for €13.5. It was seasoned with various spices, giving it a refined taste 💓. The delicious bread made it easy to eat despite its thickness. Due to the weak yen, prices are higher than I expected.
Tulips, windmills, cheese 🧀, and coffee shops selling drugs in the red-light district. It's a free country 🇳🇱.
To my delight, you can ride trains, trams, and subways just by tapping your credit card. No need for tickets or recharges, which was very convenient 👍.

. Amsterdamse Bos: Rowing to a Picnic at the Goat Farm Ridammerhoeve#
Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam Forest) is massive—larger than Central Park—and most tourists never make it past the goat farm, which is a shame. I took Tram 5 to Amstelveen and walked 10 minutes to the entrance. My goal was the rowing lake. Renting a "Canadian canoe" (a small wooden rowboat) cost €9 per hour at the Knotwilg entrance. It’s cashless; bring a Maestro or V Pay card. Rowing through the narrow channels surrounded by willow trees felt like being in a painting. After an hour, I docked near the Ridammerhoeve Goat Farm. This isn't just a petting zoo; it’s a working organic farm. I watched a herd of Saanen goats being milked at 3 pm sharp—don’t be late, they only do it once. I bought a fresh goat cheese sandwich (€5.50) and a glass of their own goat milk (€2.50). The picnic area behind the farm, under the silver birches, is incredibly serene. However, beware of the "forest bees"—they are everywhere in July, attracted to sugary drinks. I learned the hard way to keep my cup covered. Many people try to bike the entire forest in an hour, but you miss the micro-environments. The best part was the silence; the city noise is completely absorbed by the dense foliage. If you’re visiting with kids, the petting zoo is a no-brainer, but for adults, the slow pace of the rowboat makes the forest feel ten times bigger. Does anyone else find that rowing is more meditative than cycling in these green spaces?

“Pink Whisper Garden of Amsterdam Spring”
#springflower
In the Netherlands, cherry blossoms bloom beautifully in spring, usually from late March to mid April, creating a soft pink wonder across parks and canals. One of the most famous spots is the Bloesempark, located inside the large forest park of Amsterdam. This special garden was gifted by the Japanese Women’s Club and features rows of cherry trees, each with a nameplate. When in full bloom, the petals form a delicate pink canopy, attracting locals and visitors for peaceful picnics and photography. The calm atmosphere, combined with fresh spring air, makes it a perfect seasonal escape in Europe.

Great Stay with Minor Food Improvements Needed
This was my second time staying here, and I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else in the area. I absolutely love how peaceful it is, and the staff are incredibly friendly. My only small critique, which kept me from giving 5 stars, is the lack of food and drink options in the restaurant. When I went down for lunch, I was hoping for a dedicated lunch menu but was informed that the menu is currently “limited,” so only the main menu was available. Instead of having a lighter lunch, I ended up spending 25 euros on fish and chips. It would also be great if the little shop at reception offered sandwiches or baguettes for a quick lunch option. That said, it was a lovely stay overall—huge thanks to the entire team!

Duck Worth Traveling For
Best Peking duck I’ve had outside Beijing — at a Michelin-guided Chinese restaurant in Amsterdam. Easily the top spot in the area.

Beautiful canals and windmills. Not a very warm day despite it being summer. Still lovely scenery and gorgeous houses around the canal.

Fun Under The Cherry Blossom at Bloesempark
#cherryblossom25
Bloesempark is the best place to be at, during the cherry blossom season in Amsterdam Netherlands. Locals and tourists alike would visit this beautiful cherry blossom heaven and have fun under the cherry blossom trees. People are seen taking leisure strolls or having picnic under those cherry blossom filled trees, as they admire its beauty. The park is peaceful and calm, with easy walking paths and nice grass patches. Come visit here!

De Poel Cherry Blossom
#cherryblossom25
If you are visiting Amsterdam in Spring, one place that is highly recommended for cherry blossom viewing would be Lake De Poel. Lake De Poel is situated right next to the famous park called Bloesempark and takes about a 10-15 minutes walk from it. The lake boosts a beautiful background of calm waters, blue skies and one that is lined with the most beautiful cherry blossom trees. When the flowers are in full bloom, they are beautiful and gorgeous with shades of pink. It is peaceful and tranquil here and an amazing place to visit.

Very good tasting food.
Although the dish changes often the seasonal granola is possibly one of the best I had in the netherlands. The space near the kitchen is too stiff with two large tables and can get very noisy because of the kitchen. Even otherwise it seems like a popular spot with locals.
The food is definitely good and the prices quite reasonable. We visited them twice and on both ocassions some amount of waiting was required. Overall, a good value spot with food and drink options that won't disappoint.

Very delcious food
Fabulous breakfast of yoghurt and granola, tow slices of beautiful thick fresh bread, cheese and a boiled egg! Oh and the apple juice. Really nice. The coffee and pastries are also great. It's a warm room with lots of tables even a small upstairs section. Not speedy but worth the short wait.
I had the coffee from Guatemala as a poor over. A decent coffee, but nothing out of the ordinary. My friend had a very mediocre cup of coffee in my opinion. It was flat, and had no real interesting flavour. The brew technique could be the reason. Not sure. The food was great.

Absolutely the best brunch spot
It’s my second time to eat here for brunch and it was delicious like the first time. The coffee tasted really good. I ordered the croissant and it did not disappoint. It was so soft and baked well. The scrambled eggs were the best for me. I swear I want to know the recipe. The menu boasted an array of delectable options.
The barista's expertise shone through in the rich and velvety cappuccino. The brunch spot's attention to detail extended to the aesthetically pleasing presentation of each dish. The oatmeal was also very flavorful. The spicy hummus I did not like so much but maybe it is just my preference.

Best for brunch
This place does a very well-made brunch and coffee. At the beginning, you are handed a card and get to choose 3, 5, or 7 items from the menu for your board. The selection is perfect for a variety of tastes. The small plate concept allowed us to try lots of different options and the dishes and flavour combinations were unique and delicious.
The ingredients were all high quality and put together perfectly. The comfortable, cozy atmosphere and excellent service topped off a perfect brunch. We particularly recommend the smoothie bowl , we were surprised that we liked it so much

A brilliant spot for coffee & bite
What a wonderful spot for a coffee and a bite to eat! Great friendly and attentive service, delicious coffee and fabulous pastries and bites all wrapped up in a super cool vibe with fantastic tunes. Grilled cheese is so good, coffee is perfect and their cookie is one of the best in town. Had to get another one after I ate the first.
Small menu, but when everything seems to be perfected it’s more than enough! Place is nice and pretty spacious actually, and the owner is the best. I think from the price perspective too the place performs pretty well. The prices are at par with other eateries in this area but the vibe, food and service makes them superior.

Ambience and aesthetic
Cosy and decorated in an adorable minimal style, definitely visually appealing. Very nice food. Let alone the coffee. Really good flavours. It happened that I stayed in a hotel close by for 3 weeks and this cafe was always my choice.
I stopped by several times to get some great coffee and have a delicious snack to combine it with. Delicious coffee served in a perfect mug (I liked them so much I bought two to bring home), and the perfect toastie.

superb coffee and bread
My first visit here, definatly made me feel at home instantly, the sheer interior of the store is cozy, warm and welcoming. I had a chat with the owner, telling me about the beans he is roasting himself, and there is a large variety of coffee styles you can choose between. The coffee, roasted by them at their micro roastery, is superb!
And you can even buy bags of their freshly ground coffee to take home. The bread and croissants are out of this world, always fresh from the oven. Every bite and sip here reflects the love and dedication poured into their craft. Whether you’re a coffee connoisseur or just love great food, this place is a must-visit!

Popular spot with a decent menu
Nice service, the interior of the place was completely full in the morning hours, we got a place outside, it was a bit cold, but we were given blankets with which we could enjoy ourselves.
I asked for honey cinnamon chia pudding, it was delicious.
In general the place is super packed, there are long queues of people all the time and people passing by close to every table. (At least during weekends ). Looks like a bar atmosphere but with coffee and pastries

Very comfortable for work
Lovely service, delicious coffee, pastry, and sandwiches. Great music, lighting, decor. Cozy, yet with big windows and lots of tables and comfy spots to chat or work (laptops only at some tables during the week). Blankets for outside seating.
I kind of liked the vibe and the place is super cute and the location is also nice. I had a very nice toast and a filtered coffee, everything was great. I went there on a Sunday morning and they were quite busy, so there was a long queue to order. Be aware of that when going on a weekend.

One of my favourites
Great atmosphere, great coffee, and food. Sit outside when the sun is shining or indoors when it's that kind of weather. Both espresso drinks and pour overs. My favourite place for coffee, pastry or a quick lunch bite.
Always changing selection of coffee, artisan pastries and the most amazing lunch options. The egg plate was amazing I ate it every day - I need to know what kind of jam and cheese it was. Love the staff, each of them are unique individuals, magnetic and full of energy

cozy place with brilliant coffee
Beautiful, local coffee shop run by a very kind and friendly owner. This cafe is a hidden gem. It's cozy atmosphere, paired with delicious, fresh food and friendly staff is all you need from a café. I really enjoyed my breakfast and coffee, sipped overseeing a flower shop.
The owner is very knowledgeable and he sources the coffee beans from Brazil and roasts them locally. A pleasant quick stop with indoor and outdoor seating, and delicious coffee!
