[Aichi/Anjo] Super fresh!! A seafood izakaya where seafood lovers gather: "Ryu no Otoshigo"
Right inside the entrance, there's a fish market-like display featuring fresh seafood caught that day at the local fishing port.
This izakaya (Japanese pub) lets you choose your preferred cooking method for this fresh fish, ensuring a delicious meal.
It was fun to see and choose from the different types of fish available!
This time, I chose "striped jack mackerel," and after debating between "sashimi" and "grilled," I decided on "grilled" since I was also ordering sushi separately.
The saltiness and grilling were perfect, and it disappeared in no time! 😋
When ordering additional dishes, I was torn between "acqua pazza" and "local fish clay pot rice," but since the "local fish clay pot rice" would take 50 minutes to prepare, I chose the "acqua pazza"!
The "acqua pazza" was definitely the right choice, and the sake disappeared surprisingly quickly.
There was even risotto to finish the meal, making it a very satisfying experience.
If you're ordering the "Local Fish Clay Pot Rice," it takes some time to prepare, so it's best to order it with your first order.
The sake is served in tin cups, which gives it a smooth taste, making it easy to drink too much!
Before we knew it, the four of us had drunk 10 go (120ml) of sake (5 different types).
Everything was truly delicious, but if I had to highlight anything else from what we ordered, it would be the salt-seared Spanish mackerel and, unusually, the stingray liver sashimi, sometimes called "the foie gras of the sea."
Honestly, you'd be missing out if you didn't order them!!
There aren't many staff members, but the service is smooth and the wait isn't too long.
Lunch seems popular, so I'd like to visit for lunch next time.
