It's a bit off the beaten path between Rome and Florence, so it takes about two hours by train from either Rome or Florence. I stayed overnight on my way from Rome to Florence, and arrived in Assisi late in the afternoon, so I wasn't able to see much of the cathedral or other places. Assisi itself isn't that big, so it's best to take a bus up the hill and then walk around. I only took the bus up, and walked back down. #OverseasTravel #EuropeTravel #ItalyTravel

It was a city where tranquility prevailed over glamour, retaining the charm of a small town perfect for leisurely strolls and reflection. Assisi was easy to explore, centered around the square, making it an easy day trip. The cobblestone alleys, low-rise buildings, and simple shops evoke the feeling of walking through a medieval village. While there were tourists, the overall atmosphere was calm, allowing me to enjoy the city at my own pace. The highlight of my trip was undoubtedly my visit to the Basilica of San Francesco. This iconic building exuded a pious atmosphere from its exterior, and as I explored its interior, I naturally understood why the city is called a "spiritual city." If you're looking for a quiet day away from the big city, Assisi is the perfect destination. ✔️I recommend visiting the Basilica of San Francesco on a quiet morning. ✔️It has many cobblestone streets and hills. ✔️Be sure to enjoy a leisurely tea time at an outdoor cafe.

Initially, I planned to stay at a convent in Assisi, but the curfew made me reconsider, especially since I only had one night to explore Assisi. On top of that, I had to adjust my schedule for the Vatican, which delayed my arrival in Assisi even further. Luckily, thanks to the kindness of a friend I met while planning the trip, I was able to share a room. Wow, but seriously, what is this place? As I walked from the bus stop to the accommodation, I couldn’t stop exclaiming, "Wow, wow!" In the distance, you can see the hills of Assisi. The cathedral and other attractions are in that direction, which is the bustling area of the town.

📍Assisi Food Spot, Osteria Piazzetta dell'Erba This restaurant is located just below a house adorned with beautiful flowers in Assisi. Nestled in this quiet neighborhood, the restaurant is so popular that reservations are often fully booked, making it impossible to dine without one. It's always disappointing not to be able to visit a place you want to try, especially when traveling, as you may not get another chance to return. Fortunately, a kind-hearted staff member allowed us to dine on the condition that we finish our meal within an hour. Of course, we eagerly agreed and entered. We had the chance to enjoy pasta sprinkled with truffle, accompanied by soft potatoes. At first, the truffle aroma might seem unusual, but it becomes increasingly addictive. Their truffle pasta is one of the most popular dishes here.
