Besides the cultural landscape, the greatest joy of traveling is the local food, especially the kind you come across by chance, which always makes you regret not having met it earlier. On the second morning in Aveiro, I wanted to eat Portuguese desserts 🍮 with coffee, and I happened to see Ramos, which had just opened! There were no customers when I sat down at first, but it was full in a short while. It turned out that I accidentally came across a popular restaurant. I was so lucky 👍 The most famous items in the store are egg tarts, white icing sugar and baked bread. I personally feel that every egg tart I have eaten in Portugal is like a delicacy. The dense texture is quite different from Andre in Macau, it is hard to describe ❤️. The frosting is a little too sweet for me, it's like eating candy bars! I also recommend their freshly made bread 🥯, which smells so good when it’s hot out of the oven that it’s sold out in no time (but you need to wait). I bought a ticket for a moliceiro ride, a traditional long and colorful boat adorned with playful folk art and humorous phrases. Once used for harvesting seaweed (moliço), these boats now serve as romantic vessels carrying tourists through the waterways. With a cheerful "Vamos lá" from the boatman, the moliceiro gently drifted away from the dock. The canal water was shallow yet remarkably calm, accompanied only by the faint hum of the engine and occasional ripples against the boat. On both sides stood old Art Nouveau-style houses, their facades adorned with soft curves and floral reliefs in hues of pale yellow, light blue, and brick red—like a three-dimensional vintage postcard. this Pink themed coffee shop has totally won my heart🩷 the whole concept is so girly and dreamy, i love the rose wall and the instagrammable corner where there’s a coach with the big teddies available for guests to take pictures with. They do a range of pastries including croissants, cookies and donuts, whilst on the other side they also do petite cakes which looked very lip smacking! In terms of the food we ordered a pink doughnut and a ovo moles croissant, which is made of egg yolk and sugar. The croissant is as so crispy on the outside and oozes of the ojo moles filling that wasn’t too sweet but super aromatic and tasty. The exterior is a photogenic spot💕 Inside, there's a corner dedicated to the history of #Aveiro :) Across the street, I saw a white European-style cafe, so I stopped by. ㅎㅎㅎ There, I discovered Ovos Moles, a traditional Aveiro pastry, and several unfamiliar desserts. 😋 I heard Ovos Moles is a love-it-or-hate thing, but it's just egg yolk mixed with sugar, so I had no reason to dislike it. ㅎㅎ If it were a little less sweet, I'd be addicted. 😝 I also tried Bolo Chila, a tart topped with pumpkin taffy. ㅎㅎ Aveiro's sidewalks are lined with tiles depicting marine life, and the canals are lined with pastel-colored buildings. ㅎㅎㅎ They're so cute and pretty. 🧚🏻 The Aveiro canals are called the Venice of Portugal, and I think that's because you can also ride gondolas through the narrow canals. However, perhaps because the canal scenery is different, it doesn't really feel like Venice. It has a charming, charming charm. Instead, the buildings are luxurious, almost like the buildings I saw in Brussels. If you follow the alley behind the canal, it's bustling with people. A single pot of oysters and shrimp, plus a whole fresh lobster, was served for two or more people. 😇 The meat was plump, and the head had a unique, bitter yet savory flavor, like crab shells. It was a truly satisfying meal. It felt like a spoonful of Korean flavor in Europe. It was relatively less salty, so I ate it without adding water. Highly recommended!! It was a bit pricey at 58 euros. 🙃 📍Costa Nova Actually, I passed through Aveiro on my way to Costa Nova because people recommended it, but when I actually got there, Aveiro was much more interesting. Costa Nova is famous for its sandy beaches and striped houses, so I went there, but there wasn't much to see. The route was complicated, the bus took a long time, and they only accepted cash, so if you don't want the hassle, it's not worth going. 👀 If you're going with a group, a taxi is a good option! You can buy them on-site or online. I bought mine on-site. Aveiro Station is about a 50-minute ride from São Bento Station. ⭐️ There are two ways to get from Aveiro Station to Costa Nova⭐️ 1. Take the bus 2. Take a taxi Taxi fares in Portugal are affordable, so I took a taxi to the center of Costa Nova♥️ 📍Costa Nova Costa Nova is a striped village near the coast. It's famous for the way their houses were painted with stripes, as their husbands worried they'd get lost in the fog when they returned from their boating days. It's a small village that can be explored in about an hour, and the Atlantic Ocean right in front was a nice touch. I went in winter, so most of the restaurants and bars were closed. There was only one open, so I went in and ordered a sangria. February in Portugal is neither too hot nor too cold, making it perfect for a drink on the terrace outside. Back at the village entrance, there's a bus stop. I took the bus to Aveiro. 📍Aveiro Aveiro, nicknamed the Venice of Portugal, was fantastic ♥️ There were several boats lining the river, and there were even boat rides available. Aveiro had more restaurants than Costa Nova, so I went into a random one for dinner and then crossed back to Aveiro Station to return to São Bento Station. #EuropeTravel #PortugalTravel
