🌲 Alpe Devero Hiking Route Recommendations

1️⃣ Alpe Devero → Lago delle Streghe (Witches' Lake)
Difficulty: Easy
Time: 40–60 minutes (one way)
Suitable for: Leisurely walks, photography
• The lake water is emerald green with beautiful reflections, one of the most famous spots in the area
• The route is very gentle with varied scenery
• Also beautiful on rainy and cloudy days (lake color is deeper)
2️⃣ Alpe Devero → Crampiolo → Lago Devero (Codelago) Loop
Difficulty: Easy to moderate
Time: 3–3.5 hours loop
Suitable for: Most casual hikers
• Classic route! Walk from Devero to the small village of Crampiolo (stone and wooden houses), very beautiful
• After climbing the dam, walk around the lake for a complete loop, very peaceful and open
3️⃣ Devero → Alpe Forno → Val Buscagna
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
Time: 4–5 hours round trip
Suitable for: Those who enjoy pristine scenery
· A more "untouched" valley with fewer tourists
· Typical Alpine meadows, ancient shepherd huts, glacial valleys
· The golden larches in autumn are especially beautiful
4️⃣ Devero → Lago Nero (Black Lake)
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
Time: 4 hours round trip
Suitable for: Those wanting to see higher altitude lakes
· The lake is deep, dark, and mysterious, with scenery completely different from Streghe
· Broader views, can see nearby mountain ranges
· Much fewer visitors than Witches' Lake and Codelago
5️⃣ Long route: Devero → Bocchetta d’Arbola (Mountain Pass)
Difficulty: Moderate to difficult
Time: 6–7 hours round trip
Suitable for: Experienced hikers
· Closer to the Swiss border
· Grand scenery: glacial remnants, wide valleys, spectacular mountain pass
· On good weather days, you can see 3000m-level mountain ranges
