Verbier
#skitrip
We were worried Verbier was too 'extreme' for our kids, but the La Chaux area changed our minds. It’s a sunny bowl at 2,260m that stays cold enough for great snow but feels safe and contained. The progression from the Les Esserts nursery slope in town to the blue runs at La Chaux was seamless for our kids. They loved the 'slow zones' where they didn't have to worry about experts flying past. Plus, the Le Dahu restaurant at the base of the area is fantastic for a family hot chocolate break with a view. It’s a luxury family experience that feels very high-end.

Winter Verbier Hidden Route
How great is this ski trail? In summer, it's a golf course, and in winter, covered with thick snow, it transforms into a ski slope. The trail is suitable for intermediate skiers, and the best part is, it's free!
This is a stop at the Verbier Ski Resort, with both the start and end points at the le Carrefour restaurant. When you're tired from skiing, you can eat here directly without worrying about restocking supplies.
The branches on both sides of the trail are covered with snow, and sunlight filters through the treetops, bright and gentle.
💡Tip: If time allows, it's recommended to ski in the morning when the sunlight is just right, and you can see the distant snow-capped mountains on the trail.

Alpine Charm in Bagnes, Switzerland
#europeonbudget
Bagnes, Switzerland, is a peaceful alpine valley where nature and tradition blend beautifully. Surrounded by majestic peaks, green meadows, and charming wooden chalets, the scenery feels straight out of a postcard. I loved exploring the mountain trails that led to crystal-clear streams and quiet pastures filled with the sound of cowbells. The air was crisp, the views breathtaking, and every corner radiated Swiss authenticity. Whether hiking, savoring local cheese, or simply relaxing by the river, Bagnes offers a perfect balance of adventure and serenity—an unforgettable escape into the heart of the Swiss Alps.

Chasing the Pink Tune of La Lire Rose
#europeonbudget
My hike through the wild beauty of Val de Bagnes was pure alpine magic. Starting from the Hotel de Mauvoisin, I followed the trail past the mighty dam and along the right bank toward the calm Lake and Col de Tsofeiret. Instead of heading to the Chanrion Hut, I couldn’t resist climbing toward the poetically named La Lire Rose pass at 3114 meters. The ascent was tough, but the views were worth every step! The pass itself leads nowhere except to the legendary Ruinette peak — yet for me, that quiet, breathtaking solitude was adventure enough.
