Balatonfured is on the northern shore of Lake Balaton and is one of the main traffic junctions there. There are nice promenades, churches, beaches, parks, a palace and a port. Hotels, shops and restaurants are lined up next to the coastal promenade. The promenade is quite long but if you want to do a more serious walk there are nice look-out towers and view points.
