Bali Rainy Season Gamble Success
Bali + Komodo + Penida Island Hopping Tour, averaging 2 days per island
Tips: Use mineral water to rinse your mouth, avoid touching restaurant ice cubes, beware of stomach issues; 🙅 Do not eat at Bali airport, the host got ripped off badly; be careful of being overcharged at Jimbaran Seafood Market; if you do a one-day tour on Komodo Island on the last day, after snorkeling and arriving at the pier at 4 PM, you can go to the 6th-floor pool of Meruorah Hotel for a free shower, as seawater feels quite uncomfortable on the body; arrange a private driver in advance for Penida Island, pier drivers are very expensive, normal price is 500~600k; round-trip boat tickets for Penida Island can be rescheduled if there are available seats; these days, the weather on Penida Island during the rainy season is sunny in the morning ☀️ and rainy in the afternoon 🌧️
Day 1: Relax at the villas - conquer Jimbaran Seafood Market (remember to bargain hard)
Day 2: Pandawa Beach p13 - Cliff Road - Uluwatu Paragliding (during rainy season, the wind direction at Uluwatu east side panda/alam is usually unfavorable, most likely no flights) - Lovers' Cliff (beware of monkeys stealing sunglasses) p10 - Blue Point Beach (waves are big, be careful not to get swept away) - Jimbaran Sunset
Day 3: Komodo Half-Day Tour:
First snorkeling spot to see baby sharks
Second snorkeling spot to see fish and coral
Bat Sunset (unfortunately the weather was bad that day, no sunset, but there were really many bats!)
Day 4: Komodo Full-Day Tour:
Gather at 6:30 AM
Padar Island, truly a human paradise! Three bays p5
Pink Beach, the coastline is really pink, and the water is very clear (great for snorkeling), perfect for photos
Komodo Dragons, since you’re here, take a look, saw a total of 4
Crescent Bay, p6p7, the crystal-clear sea is stunning! The water is very clear, and you can see many baby sharks
Manta Point, snorkeling above the deep sea to see manta rays! Truly breathtaking, manta rays as big as trucks in the sea, the pressure hits your head, one of the most impactful scenes of my life.
Turtle Snorkeling Spot, the nearby coral reefs and fish look even better than what I saw in Malaysia! Luckily, I saw mantas circling here again!
Day 5: Penida Island:
Arranged a private driver in advance to take the west route in the afternoon (only private cars available because the island is monopolized, no Grab/Gojek), the emotional value was very satisfying
Angel’s Billabong p8 — Broken Beach — Thousand Islands Bath (felt like after going to Komodo, Penida was less stunning)
Day 6:
Right opposite the hotel is Mount Agung 🌋 p9, visibility is better before 9 AM
Famous Tree House p11, to avoid long lines, left at 8 AM, 25k entrance fee + 75k photo fee, stairs are quite difficult to climb
Diamond Beach p2p12, really beautiful! But climbing the stairs is really painful
