#The Business Suite We selected a Business Suite, at the "Zhongyin Hotel", also know as the "Jasper Hotel" in Baoding. The front of house added me to her Wechat, when we checked in. We were out for most of the day, as we had meetings to attend. We returned later that evening, and the front of house night staff, were courteous enough, to show us to our suite. "The room was preheated, and nice & warm, upon our arrival". This suite, was extremly spacious and elegant, and we both sincerely enjoyed it. Living Room: A lovely living room, with a comfortable sofa and ample space. Bedroom: The bed was comfortable, with high quality bedding. Bathroom: As for the bathroom, well it's very spacious with a walk in shower and a large bathtub. We enjoyed panoramic views of the city, from the suite. Buffet style breakfast was served, at the Horizon Restaurant on the 3rd floor. "The selection was good, with both Chinese and Western Style dishes to enjoy". Overall the hotel has a classic and elegant feel to it, with quality finishes, which remain timeless. The entire team of staff, ensured that we enjoyed our stay. Special thanks to the front office's, YangQian for her superb service. As well as the front office manager (Cindy), for her superb service, and for meeting our requests. We can recommend this hotel for business or leisure, foreign or domestic guests, will enjoy a high quality stay here. Upon our next visit to Baoding, we will surely return to the Zhongyin Hotel.

Baoding Botanical Garden is worth a trip if you need a break from the bustling city, and a breath of fresh air. It is a huge green space, a haven amidst the skyscrapers, with statues, lakes and even a small fair park to enjoy. Lots of places to sit and eat a picnic, and escape that summer sunshine in the shade of the forests. Visit in spring for the first blooms, in summer to escape the heat, and autumn for the changing leaves. A beautiful place! #triplocal

📌Yishui Lake 📌 From the ticket gate to the location we have to board the ship for approximately 10 minutes. Entrance and shipping fees are 120 RMB. At the location we are presented with a natural view of the lake surrounded by hills. The path used to climb hills is strong and comfortable, especially the climbing process that is not too difficult, suitable for young children and old people. Be careful with your items, especially sunglasses and hats. Because of the wind or accidentally falling, do not expect to be taken back. You are not allowed to climb the road fence or go down the hillside. #givethanks

Weekend in Baoding | Attractions that even locals may not know about.

When we took a taxi, the local driver said he had never heard of this attraction, so it is relatively niche. 😮 . In fact, Guangyuan is right next to the Zhili Governor's Office Museum. During the Ming Dynasty, it was the Daning Dusi Right Guard Office and the Duanyu Office, and during the Qing Dynasty, it was the Ancha Shisi Prison Office. During the Republic of China, Zhili Governor Cao Kun transformed it into what it is now, and Guang is the Guang of Qi Jiguang. 💪 . Weekend in Baoding | Lianhua Academy

In the 11th year of the Yongzheng reign of the Qing dynasty, Li Wei, the governor of Zhili, was ordered to establish the Lianchi Academy, which was the highest institution of learning in Zhili during the Qing dynasty. However, it was closed in 1903, after 170 years of operation. 👏 . Many famous people have come out of this academy, such as Wang Shihan, Zhang Xuecheng, and Qi Yunshi. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu, Huang Pengnian, Zhang Yuzhao, and Wu Rulun made the academy famous. Huang Pengnian expanded the academy and reformed the teaching; Zhang Yuzhao was the first to recruit foreign students; Wu Rulun promoted the reform of Western studies in the academy, invited foreign teachers, and encouraged students to study abroad. These famous teachers have produced many great people, such as the top scholars Bi Yuan and Liu Chunlin. 😃 . Emperor Qianlong visited the academy many times, gave it a plaque with the words "Xu Shi Lian Xi", wrote poems to encourage teachers and students, and set standards for selecting teachers for the academy. During the reigns of Emperor Jiaqing and Emperor Daoguang, Na Yancheng, the governor of Zhili, engraved the calligraphy and old rubbings of famous people in his family collection on stone, which became the "Lianchi Academy Calligraphy", a famous story in the art world. 👍 . The architecture and gardens of the academy are also quite distinctive. I saw Chinese elements in Baoding Catholic Church.

On the way to Daci Pavilion, I happened to see the mass at the Catholic Church just ended. I thought it was rare to see a church building with a combination of Chinese and Western styles, so I took a closer look while the crowd was dispersing. Baoding Catholic Church is not in the C position on Yuhua Street, but among a group of traditional Chinese ancient buildings, it is also difficult to ignore its existence. It is in an excellent location, with the Governor's Office of Zhili on the right, and the Ancient Lotus Pond facing each other, forming a character with the three ancient sites. Looking back at it in Daci Pavilion, the simple and rough bricks and stones, and the red walls and gray tiles are surprisingly harmonious in the same frame. It is a Romanesque church built in 1905. Interestingly, there are many Chinese elements in this Western-style building. The brick carvings on the outer wall have lotus flowers, lotus leaves, cranes, and cloud patterns, and the 14 tall and eye-catching columns inside are also Chinese red. Now on the exhibition board on the west side of the church, the "Ode to the Cross" by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty is also written. It seems that the French priest who built this place spent a lot of thought. The century-old church has experienced a century of wind and rain. The current Baoding Catholic Church still has a vast dome and dazzling stained glass stories. In 2023, it was included in the "Eighth Batch of Chinese 20th Century Architectural Heritage."

Baoding Weekend Special Forces | Zhenjue Temple.

After leaving the Catholic Church, continue east to the Bell Tower. After passing the Bell Tower, continue northeast to Zhenjue Temple. These attractions are all within walking distance. . Zhenjue Temple has a long history, dating back to the Yuan Dynasty. The tallest building is the Daci Pavilion. The temple as a whole presents an ancient and elegant style, with red walls and gray tiles, flying eaves and bucket arches. . To the north of the Daci Pavilion is a Guandi Temple. Interestingly, unlike other buildings that face south, this Guandi Temple faces north, which is equivalent to being "back-to-back" with the Daci Pavilion. . The temple is actually located in a very busy area, next to a residential area and a pedestrian street. We came to Baoding for the weekend just for the donkey burgers.

To be honest, we came to Baoding for the weekend just for the donkey burgers 🤗. We didn't choose any internet-famous restaurant, just picked one at random, and it was quite satisfying 😎. For those who prefer a lighter taste, Baoding donkey burgers may be a bit salty and oily, but for me, it's just right 👍. . The donkey burgers here are really good 👍! The crust is crispy, and when you take a bite, it makes a "crunch" sound 😜. The donkey meat is tender and juicy, with a perfect balance of fat and lean 🥩. There's also Baoding's special stewed tofu, which tastes different from the northeastern stewed tofu. When eaten together with the burger, it adds a richer texture 😋. Zhili Governor's Office, Baoding, Hebei | Provincial government office of the Qing Dynasty.

The Zhili Governor's Office in Baoding was the office of Zhili governors such as Zeng Guofan, Li Hongzhang, and Yuan Shikai. It is located in the center of Baoding and is an AAAA tourist attraction. The entire Zhili Governor's Office is not too large and can be visited in two hours. It is very suitable for bringing children to visit. There are many interactive electronic screens inside. The digital exhibition hall is also equipped with a spherical large screen, which allows people to truly experience the changes of the times and explore the mysteries of history. The Zhili Governor's Office faces south to the north and is a small hard mountain building with a typical northern government office architectural style. The central road building is the main part of the government office, consisting of five courtyards, and the main rooms of each courtyard are built on the north-south axis, with left and right ear rooms, wing rooms, etc. on both sides.
