Baotou Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Xilamuren Prairie Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Inner Mongolia is definitely a worthwhile trip. I went during the Labor Day Holiday with a tour group called Joy Tours, so it was easy to get around.
We went to Xilamuren Glasslands and even though the grass was not as green (due to the season), it was still very beautiful and refreshing see so yurts sitting on an endless landscape, blue skies and animals grazing the fields. We were greeted by the Mongolians with a white bowl of white wine (Báijiǔ) which we had to take a sip, and treated to lunch. We watched an equestrian show performed by Mongolians, then later rode a horse (very slowly) on the grasslands. There was a show and bon fire in the evening at our yurt accommodation. One of my favorite moments was being greeted by the millions of stars, and ended up stargazing for the rest of the night. We also visited the Kubuqi Desert which was lovely but very windy, and didn't get a lot of time to experience it. My partner and I then missioned alone to Ordos, and visited the "Ghost City", as well as Genghis Khan Mausoleum. The "Ghost City", to me, did not feel like a ghost city but rather a city that has potential to thrive in the future. The Genghis Khan Mausoleum was absolutely beautiful and his name is clearly still being honored by many. It was very interesting to see how two cultures still co-existed in this area: Chinese and Mongolians, although majority of the population were Chinese. Both languages were used and displayed on every sign. Mongolian culture is very interesting: different, yet has similarities to other cultures. I would have loved to experience more of it, and the best way to experience it, I think, is in the grasslands, or Mongolia itself.

Wudangzhao Lamasery Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
The five famous Tibetan Buddhist temples near Baotou, Inner Mongolia, are named "The Four Famous Temples of Tibetan Buddhism in China" with the Potala Palace in Tibet, the Ta'er Monastery in Qinghai, and the Labrang Monastery in Gansu.
Five calls for 60 yuan, Mongolian, Tibetan and other ethnic minorities can offer. There are two choices from the gate of the park to the five-day call. One is the battery car, and the other is to go by yourself. I did not hesitate to choose the latter.
Actually, the road to the five-day call is very good, flat and not far. But there was a hill next to it, and the view to the top of the mountain was very good, so I went up the mountain. The hills are undulating all the way, and people are going up and down the road. Every hilltop has Mani piles and prayer flags, and the sun is colorful.
Over the top of the mountain, I finally saw the five-day call. This temple group is not large, and it is small and restrained compared to the temples in Tibet and Qinghai. Quietly standing in an unknown valley. In the autumn, the temples in the sun exude a charming light.
Five is the largest and largest temple called Su Guzhen. It is allowed to visit in the temple, but it is not allowed to take pictures. There is a house next to the Sugu Temple, called Rongken, which is a place for tea and lunch for the monks. There are four large pots built in. It is said that the largest pot can cook 1,500 pounds of beef.
Five when there are a total of nine halls. But most of them are only open to the public when they have statutes. Each stand has not only a map but also a code. If you can't get in, you can watch the inside through the computer 3D landscape.
Suddenly ran over a kitten, not afraid of people at all, but also went to the arms of people. At first glance, the monks in the temple are very good at it.
Now I think the color of Tibetan architecture is very high. It is not the kind of red and green that is advertised, but the combination of dark brown, brick red and white. Occasionally, bright yellow, very beating. Especially on sunny days, people feel comfortable.
When I arrived at the five-day call, I felt that I would return to Tibet in a moment, and the sun was as strong and pure as Tibet.
The 'Potala Palace' on the grassland
Wudang Zhao is the largest and most complete Gelugpa monastery in Inner Mongolia. 'Wudang' means willow in Mongolian, and 'Zhao' means temple in Tibetan, which can be translated as 'The Monastery in Willow Valley'.
The spatial layout and architectural style of Wudang Zhao have great historical and artistic value, reflecting the diverse ethnic, historical, and cultural characteristics and heritage.
The monastery is purely in Tibetan style, with several main halls arranged in a terraced fashion up the hillside, and countless monks' quarters scattered around and along the two sides of the valley, looking like a small Tibetan town from afar. The temple walls are built of huge stones, with walls as thick as one meter, and only pillars and beams are made of wood. All buildings within the monastery have flat roofs.
It is now a key national cultural heritage site and a national AAAA tourist attraction.
The Veiled Potala Palace: A Mysterious Journey in the Clouds
Another stunning attraction - Wudang Zhao, a must-visit spot in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, my top 1 in heart.

🌟Highlights: Built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, it is the largest and most complete Tibetan Buddhist temple in Inner Mongolia, known as the Potala Palace on the grassland, the first temple on the northern grassland. In 2015, it was awarded the title of 'Study Tourism Destination' by the Asia Pacific Tourism Association. It is the only completely preserved pure Tibetan architectural complex in Inner Mongolia and the activity center of Tibetan Buddhism.
❤Recommended Reason:
I love this place too much, it's very comfortable, and the atmosphere of Tibetan Buddhism is very strong. We arrived in the afternoon, went a bit late, the staff kindly suggested to visit first and then take pictures, otherwise there won't be enough time. When we arrived at a place, it happened to be the time for the monks to close the door. Knowing that I came from Hainan, they specially opened the inner door for us to worship. It is said that it is usually not open, only for the destined people
The whole scenic area, in addition to experiencing Tibetan culture, is also very photogenic. There is a long plank road on the mountain, you can climb up and walk, overlooking the whole scenic area. In short, this is also a place I highly recommend
📌Small Tips: In Inner Mongolia, whether it's summer or not, you must do a good job of sun protection, bring an extra coat
Wu Dangzhao, the four famous temples of Tibetan Buddhism in China, the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Because the temple was built on a hillside called Wubao Mountain in Wudanggou, it is commonly known as the Five Calls. Inner Mongolia has a vast territory. Our car has been driven from Hohhot along the Yinshan Mountains to the depths of Daqing Mountain in Baotou. The five-day call is not just a temple. Today, the five-day call is a huge tourist area. After entering the scenic spot, you can see the beautiful stone statues on the stone walls on both sides, and the prayer flags on the mountain dance in the cold wind. At first sight, the rich Tibetan architectural style is like a thousand miles to Tibet. A white building with mountains and mountains is surrounded by mountains. It is surrounded by pines and cypresses. It is magnificent and spectacular. The exterior of the building is white and flat, with dark colonnades and window openings. The walls are inlaid with cinnabar color and the roof is flat square. Approaching the Five Calls, the main building consists of the Eight Great Halls, three living Buddhas and a mourning hall that houses the living Buddha stupa. Due to history, the Eight Great Halls now have only six large halls. They are: Su Gu Temple, Cave Hall, but Iri Hall, Dang Xi De Hall, A Hui Hall, Japan Hall. These temples are large in scale and are all in the form of curved Tibetan architectural styles. The Sugu Temple is the largest building of all the temples in the Five Dynasties, and is located at the front of the temple. Here is the place where all the gatherings are held. The columns in the hall are all wrapped in a dragon blanket, and the ground is covered with carpets. The walls are painted with colored murals.

Saihan Tala, an urban grassland
Saihan Tala, which means beautiful grassland in Mongolian, is the largest urban grassland in China and a well-known grassland tourist attraction in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, also known as Saihan Tala Ecopark.
📍Detailed address:
Geographical location: Located in the central part of Baotou city, it is the only urban wetland grassland in Baotou and the only urban grassland in China.
🌟Highlights:
Historical background: Saihan Tala was originally formed by the erosion of Shimen Water. As Shimen Water shifted westward, a large wetland was formed in the low-lying areas that the river used to flow through, which is the Saihan Tala wetland. During the Ming Dynasty, Saihan Tala became the grazing land for the Urad tribe. In 1956, the eastern part of the original Urad territory was divided into the Qingshan and Kundulun districts of Baotou city, with Saihan Tala grassland located between Qingshan and Donghe districts, transforming from a suburban grassland to an urban grassland. In 1985, the Baotou Municipal People's Government decided to designate this area as a public green space. In 1994, the Baotou Municipal People's Congress made the 'Decision on the Construction of Saihan Tala Park'. In 2018, the Baotou Municipal People's Government expanded the Saihan Tala wetland and its surroundings into a nationally famous urban grassland of ten thousand acres.

Gujiu, now known as Baotou!
This small border town is actually the second largest city in Inner Mongolia. The cost of living here is very low, the residents are friendly, and the elderly will even tell me where to go for fun. I went to the Yellow River Ballad to see the Yellow River, to the Saihan Tala Grassland to see the grasslands and steeds, and to the Baotou Museum to learn about the history of Baotou. Baotou, formerly known as Jiuyuan, is also the hometown of Lü Bu, a famous historical figure. Baotou is a city with a rich cultural heritage. There are many temples here that are worth visiting, but I was worried about the inconvenience of transportation and the time-consuming travel, so I didn't go. Friends who drive themselves might consider visiting Meidai Temple, Wudang Temple, as well as Hasuhai and Cilechuan, all of which are great places!

To the grassland, Baotou Damaoqi poetry and painting grassland
I didnt get to the beautiful cloud in the evening when I first arrived, and I couldnt catch the most beautiful moment when the yurt was lit at night, and I couldnt catch the fine weather, but I can still imagine the picturesque scenery of the poetry and prairie grassland, and still feel the enthusiasm of the prairie people in the night before the campfire...
Like many people, there is always a yearning for the grassland in the summer and autumn seasons. In the past few years, I went to the winter of Hulunbeier and went to the autumn of Xilin Gol. This year, I am going to the poem of Baomao Damao Banner in Inner Mongolia. Draw the grassland and feel the poems in my heart and the paintings that belong to the grassland. Looking at the poetry and painting grassland tourist resort from above, like a beautiful flower, it is symmetrically distributed. These petals are mainly composed of various white yurts. The poetry and painting grassland resort covers an area of 40,000 square meters. It is said that there are as many as 165 yurts for different luxury dining and accommodation, and the yurt and yurt combination are named after the culture, such as several yurts like circular flowers. Known as Mao Ming'an, Hulunbeier, Horqin, Zhabit, Dalhan, Erdos, Chahar, Sunit and so on. The day we came, unfortunately, all day was cloudy, the photos were gray, but I could still feel the poems and picturesque scenes of the grasslands.
The grassland carries the poems and distances of each of us. There are blue skies, white clouds, low winds and winds. Picturesque, poetry and painting grasslands in Damao Banner will let you experience another difficult experience. Here There is a grassland first pot, there is the world's largest potion meat in the world of Guinness - Inner Mongolia poetry and painting grassland handcuffs. The cauldron has a diameter of 4.88 meters, a depth of 1 meter and a thickness of 20 millimeters. It can cook 80 sheep and about 3,000 kilograms of lamb at the same time. Have you seen that stewed lamb is covered with a crane? In the poetry and painting grassland, you will see!

In the winter, Labor Park is a place where you can enjoy the snow and ice skating
In the winter, the Workers' Park is a place where you can appreciate the snow and ice skate.
The lake in Labor Park has frozen into an ice surface,
part of it is still covered with white snow.
On the ice, some people are ice skating, some are playing ice hockey, and some are riding ice sleds...
I remember the last time I skated was in junior high school, and the ice skates were divided into running blades and hill blades.

The Ferris wheel in the Labor Park, the indelible childhood memories
The Ferris wheel in the Labor Park, childhood memories
When it comes to the Ferris wheel, now it is associated with romance.
Actually, for children born in the 80s, it carries some childhood memories.
Now, the facilities of the amusement park have basically been dismantled, only this Ferris wheel is left.
I believe that children who grew up in Baotou,
will remember this iconic amusement facility of Baotou Labor Park - the Ferris wheel.
