Bari is such a pretty city, especially the old town. It faces the Adriatic sea and it is close to the main touristic places of Puglia, a southern Italy region. We made a stop here to witness the history of this area, which is still alive in the streets and in the beautiful buildings ⛪️
We had to try the local special dish, orecchiette, a home-made pasta in a shape of a hat! And of course the delicious seafood 🐟🦑

Nicholas hotel Italy
#100WaysOfTravel
It's my first time to stay at the Nicholas Hotel, and it feels great. The hotel room is very spacious. Each room has a separate balcony, and the bathroom has a bathtub to take a bath. The hotel provides sparkling water and mineral water every day, and there are various snacks and drinks at the minibar. There is a swimming pool and a sauna on the negative floor of the hotel. Many people stay at the hotel, and Italians also like saunas. What is commendable is the hotel breakfast, which is very good.
Bari, a city filled with charming streets and lively markets, is a treasure trove waiting to be expl

Bari is a vibrant city located in the southern region of Italy. Known for its picturesque old town, stunning beaches, and delicious cuisine, Bari is a popular destination for tourists looking to experience authentic Italian culture. The city is also a hub for transportation, with a busy port that connects it to other cities along the Adriatic coast and beyond.
Exploring Bari's old town, known as Bari Vecchia, is like taking a step back in time. Narrow cobblestone streets wind their way through historic buildings, churches, and piazzas, creating a charming atmosphere that is impossible to resist. The Basilica of Saint Nicholas, a pilgrimage site for Catholics around the world, is a must-visit while in Bari. Its stunning architecture and rich history make it a highlight of any trip to the city.
When it comes to food, Bari does not disappoint. The city is famous for its street food scene, with vendors selling a variety of local specialties such as focaccia, panzerotti, and orecchiette. For a more formal dining experience, Bari offers a wide range of restaurants serving fresh seafood, pasta, and other traditional dishes. Be sure to try the local specialty, orecchiette con cime di rapa, a delicious pasta dish made with broccoli rabe.
In addition to its historical and culinary delights, Bari is also a great base for exploring the surrounding region of Puglia. With its beautiful coastline, charming villages, and unique trulli houses in Alberobello, there is no shortage of things to see and do in the area. Timeless Charm of Old Bari, Italy 🇮🇹
Step into a world where history whispers from every cobblestone and the scent of fresh pasta dances in the air – welcome to Old Bari, Italy! 🍝✨
My journey began at the break of dawn, as I wandered through the enchanting labyrinth of narrow streets in Bari Vecchia. Each corner turned revealed a new chapter of history, from the magnificent Basilica di San Nicola to the imposing Castello Svevo. With each step, I felt transported back in time, surrounded by the echoes of ancient tales and the warmth of local hospitality.
As the sun climbed higher in the sky, I found myself drawn to the bustling heart of the old town, where vibrant markets spilled into the streets and the aroma of freshly baked focaccia beckoned from every corner. With a growling stomach and a sense of anticipation, I dove into a culinary adventure, sampling Apulian delicacies that danced on my taste buds like poetry in motion. From the velvety smoothness of burrata to the robust flavors of orecchiette pasta, each dish told a story of tradition and passion passed down through generations.
With a satisfied belly and a rejuvenated spirit, I continued my exploration, losing myself in the maze of alleyways lined with colorful facades and hidden treasures. I stumbled upon quaint boutiques showcasing local craftsmanship, where artisans poured their hearts into intricate ceramics and olive wood creations that spoke of a love for their land.
As the golden hues of dusk painted the sky, I made my way to the seafront, where the tranquil waters of the Adriatic stretched out before me in a shimmering embrace. With the salty breeze caressing my skin and the gentle lull of waves serenading my senses, I felt a profound sense of peace wash over me – a moment of pure bliss in the heart of Italy.
As night fell and the stars emerged overhead, I bid farewell to Old Bari with a heart full of memories and a promise to return. For in this timeless corner of the world, where past and present intertwine in a tapestry of beauty and grace, every moment is a treasure to be cherished forevermore. Grazie, Bari, for a journey of a lifetime. Until we meet again. 💫🍷

Bari, nestled on the Adriatic Sea and serving as the Puglia region's capital, cast a spell of beauty during my visit. The historic port city welcomed me with its coastal allure and rich cultural tapestry. Strolling through the maze of narrow alleys in Bari Vecchia, the old town, felt like a journey through time, adorned with ancient architecture and vibrant street life.
The Basilica di San Nicola, an architectural gem, housed the relics of Saint Nicholas, exuding both spiritual and historical significance. The seafront promenade, Lungomare Nazario Sauro, offered breathtaking views of the Adriatic, creating a serene backdrop for leisurely walks. Bari's unique blend of maritime charm and historical grandeur made it a captivating destination, leaving me enchanted by its undeniable beauty.

Italy Bari
Bari is the capital city of the Apulia region in Italy, and also a bustling port city located on the Adriatic Sea. The Apulia region is in the southwest of Italy, also known as the "heel of the boot". Here, there are white towns, beautiful beaches, and endless olive groves~
Strolling around the old town of Bari~
Old Town (Bari Vecchia) and Murat (Centro Storico) are the old towns of Bari, Italy, and the two areas are interconnected and integrated. Here you can find the most historically significant and authentic Italy! The doors and windows on both sides of the street are wide open, and Italians talk loudly and casually. The buzzing Vespa cars rotate on the narrow streets, filled with the smell of garlic, tomatoes, and freshly baked bread~
Visit St. Nicholas Cathedral & Bari Cathedral.
When you enter the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, what catches your eye is the combination of the golden ceiling, sculptures, and mosaics throughout the entire temple and basement, which is very spectacular. This Romanesque-style church took more than 100 years to build! The Bari Cathedral is another Romanesque church that can be traced back to the late 12th century. Second only to the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, the two are also very close together and can be visited together~
Join the fishermen's life in the Port of Vekia.
Porto Vecchia or Old Port is where local fishermen take blue boats out to sea. You will see these boats selling freshly caught local fish. Of course, you can also have a cup of coffee here, take a walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery, and learn about the local way of life.
