Autumn in the Forbidden City: The ginkgo trees in the Forbidden City are in full bloom.
🏛️ Compared to many temples in Beijing, the Forbidden City is a place with a high concentration of ancient buildings, but the ginkgo trees are scattered. In terms of density, only the area near the western palace wall has a lot of ginkgo trees. It is a must-visit place for taking photos when visiting the Forbidden City in autumn. I have personally tested that the ginkgo trees here have already changed color in the past few days.
🍃 Although there are several ginkgo trees in the Forbidden City, the Eighteen Scholar Trees is undoubtedly a relatively suitable place to check in. Stroll to the Right Gate next to the Hall of Supreme Harmony, turn around and walk a few steps forward, and you will see this golden ocean. This ginkgo forest is tall and dense, and is now dressed in golden splendor, with fallen leaves all over the ground. The golden leaves contrast with the red walls and the flying eaves of the palace, making it particularly delicate and charming.
🌞 In the afternoon sunlight, the ginkgo trees look dense and spectacular like guards, and a wooden plank road just passes through them, full of autumn flavor. When the autumn wind blows, the golden leaves sway in the sky, creating a peaceful and beautiful atmosphere. The golden fallen leaves on the ground form a "golden path" that is fascinating.
⏰ When is the best time to go? There will be no strong wind or heavy rain in the next few days, and the leaves can last for at least a week.
⏰ What time is the scenery more beautiful? Go early in the morning or after 3 pm. The light will be blocked by the buildings at noon.
🌈 Estimated time? If you just want to see the scenery and take photos, it will take less than 2 hours.
👣 Reference route and check-in place: There is no navigation coordinate on the map. The specific location is north of the Right Gate, southeast of the Icehouse Restaurant, and north of the Duanhong Bridge. There are about 20 tall ginkgo trees, which can be seen at a glance.
⭐ More description of the surrounding scenery: Quiet in the midst of noise, not many tourists, next to the Ancient Building Restoration Management Office, there are staff members taking care of it, and you cannot step on the lawn.
📷 Ideas for taking beautiful photos: The scenery can be taken with a wide-angle or telephoto lens, which is relatively easy. If it is a portrait, you can only take a wide-angle photo.
👍 How to buy tickets: Buy a ticket to the Forbidden City.
🔥 Must-see tips before checking in:
1. No need to check in separately.
2. Better photos when there is sunlight.
3. Ancient costume commercial photography is strictly controlled.
📍 Location: Inside the Palace Museum, No. 4 Jingshan Front Street, Dongcheng District
⏰ Opening hours: Same as the opening hours of the Forbidden City
🏞 Type of play: City walk, landscape photography
Yuyuantan Park is a great place to take photos of ginkgo trees at night.
In autumn, the ginkgo leaves in Beijing turn yellow, making it the best time to enjoy the autumn scenery. If you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy the quiet autumn scenery, Yuyuantan Park at night is definitely your best choice.
📍Location: Yuyuantan Park is located in Haidian District, Beijing, and is famous for its beautiful ginkgo forest. The park is bustling during the day, but at night, it becomes a secret base for photography enthusiasts.
🕗Best time: Evening to night. As night falls, the park's visitors gradually disperse, and the ginkgo forest becomes particularly quiet, making it an excellent time to photograph ginkgo trees. It is expected that such beautiful scenery can last for about a week on windless days.
📸Photography equipment:
• Tripod: At night, the light is insufficient, and a tripod can help you stabilize the camera and capture clear ginkgo scenery.
• Camera: A professional camera can capture more details, but a good phone can also take satisfactory photos.
• Lighting equipment: A flashlight or small LED light can provide extra light for your shooting when needed.
👗Dress suggestions:
• The temperature is low at night in autumn, so remember to bring a warm coat.
• Wear comfortable shoes, as you may need to walk a long distance in the park.
🚗Transportation:
• Subway: Take Subway Line 1 to Military Museum Station, and walk to Yuyuantan Park.
• Self-driving: There is a parking lot near the park, but it is recommended to plan your parking location in advance to avoid not finding a parking space.
🍂Shooting tips:
• Long exposure: Use a tripod to fix the camera and try long exposure shooting to capture the dreamy effect of ginkgo leaves swaying in the breeze.
• Low-angle shooting: Try shooting from a low angle to highlight the height of the ginkgo trees and the golden leaves.
• Portrait photography: If you have company, you can use the ginkgo trees as a background to take some warm portrait photos.
🌟Tips:
• Keep quiet and enjoy the tranquility.
• Respect the environment and do not damage the ginkgo trees.
• Bring enough batteries and memory cards, as you may take many beautiful photos.

Yuanmingyuan: Once the Most Beautiful Garden of Gardens
Visiting Beijing's Yuanmingyuan, known as the 'Garden of Gardens,' I was deeply moved by its historical significance and natural beauty🌸. Located in the northwest suburbs of Beijing, Yuanmingyuan was once an imperial garden, boasting vast areas and diverse landscapes. Despite the ravages of war and destruction, its restored scenery remains breathtaking✨.
Upon entering the park, the first thing that caught my eye was the expansive lake, shimmering under the sunlight, with trees and flowers swaying in the breeze as if greeting me🙋. Walking along the paths, I could feel the blend of Chinese and Western elements in the garden. The architectural styles vary, featuring traditional Chinese pavilions and towers🏯, as well as Western sculptures and fountains, showcasing the artistic essence of the time🎨.
The ruins in Yuanmingyuan evoke a sense of melancholy, reminding me of the sorrow and helplessness of history😢. Every stone tablet and piece of rubble silently tells the stories of the past📜. This place is rich in cultural heritage, making it an excellent spot for learning about Chinese history and art.
The ginkgo trees in Olympic Forest Park are stunning.
Olympic Forest Park Fall Travel Guide: Fall in Beijing Olympic Forest Park is a picture of gold and red intertwined.
Best viewing period: The ginkgo trees in Olympic Forest Park are now in their best viewing period, which is expected to last for another 7 to 14 days. The ginkgo trees are golden, and the red maples are in full bloom, making it a great time to enjoy the fall foliage.
Transportation: Take Metro Line 15 to Olympic Forest Park Station, Exit G, or Line 8 to Forest Park South Gate Station, Exit C, and walk a few minutes to the ginkgo trees.
Duration: We recommend spending 1 to 2 hours here, taking a leisurely stroll along the ginkgo avenue and enjoying the tranquility and beauty of fall.
Recommended route: After exiting the metro station, walk south along the North Central Axis Scenic Avenue, and you'll find the ginkgo avenue on both sides of the road. The ginkgo avenue on the west side is more spectacular. Continue south to the north of the Hehe Archway, where there is a ginkgo grove, the best photo spot.
Tips:
• Crowd management: Olympic Forest Park is a popular spot for viewing ginkgo trees, so it can get crowded. Visitors with children should take care of them.
• Avoid peak times: To enjoy a peaceful time viewing the leaves, we recommend visiting early in the morning. No reservation is required, and admission is free.
• Leaf viewing route: The ginkgo avenue in front of the South Gate of the South Garden of Olympic Forest Park is 90% yellow, and the ginkgo grove is full of ginkgo trees.
• Photography tips: Two to three in the afternoon is the best time to take photos, as the light is best for backlit artistic photos.
• Ginkgo rain experience: To experience the romance of ginkgo rain, pay attention to the weather and be ready to go at any time to enjoy the poetic scene of ginkgo leaves flying in the sky and falling on the ground.
Outfit suggestions: Wear warm colors, such as orange and brown, to complement the golden ginkgo leaves and blend in with the warm autumn sun.
Food preparation: Bring some light snacks and drinks to enjoy a leisurely picnic while viewing the leaves.
Environmental awareness: Please protect the environment, do not litter, and keep the ginkgo avenue clean and beautiful.

First time visiting Gubei Water Town? Check out this guide to avoid the pitfalls.
I'm in love with Gubei Water Town in autumn. The red leaves are like fire, and the weather is perfect, not too hot or cold. It's the best time to visit. Gubei Water Town is about to become even more beautiful!
.
I visit every year. Walking through the streets and alleys of the town, I feel like I'm in a southern water town. I like to wander around the town alone in the morning or evening when there are fewer people. I can enjoy the unique beauty of the town and the rare tranquility!
.
🔥What to do in the town?
✅Watch performances
There are many performances in the town, such as the drone Kongming lantern show at Sun Moon Island Square, the armor show, and the music water dance show on Wangjing Street (there are night shows on Fridays and Saturdays). You can check the official schedule for specific performance times.
.
✅Enjoy the night view
You must go to the hilltop church to see the night view. You can take a shuttle bus to the church, then go down the stairs from the cafe to see the night view of the town! You can also go to the Simatai Great Wall to see the night view, but I usually go to the church because the Great Wall is a bit far away.
.
✅Take photos at scenic spots!
This is a must. After the leaves turn red, every corner of the town is perfect for taking photos! Especially where there are homestays, there will be more red leaves! My favorite photo spots: the area near the dyehouse, Wangjing Street, and the hilltop church with a panoramic view of the town!
.
‼️Do you need to stay overnight in the town?
If you want to soak in the hot springs and take night photos, I think it's better to stay overnight because there are no people in the morning! If you want to save money, you can stay at an inn outside the town. Many inns in the scenic area offer free tickets and hot spring tickets for two people, including breakfast. I like it. If you have a bigger budget, you can stay at the Gubei Zhiguang Hotel. If you just want to watch performances and take photos during the day, you don't need to stay overnight!
.
🚎How is the transportation in the town?
You can drive, take a taxi, or take a bus. I took a taxi before, and the fare was over 200 yuan. There are several direct bus routes, all priced at 48 yuan per person, and the journey takes about 2 hours. The specific routes are as follows: Dongzhimen (9:00, 13:00) - Gubei Water Town (12:00, 17:00); CYTS Building (10:00) - Gubei Water Town (14:00); CITS Building (7:30 on weekends and holidays) - Gubei Water Town (16:30); Bird's Nest (9:00 on weekends and holidays) - Gubei Water Town (13:00); Dongjiaominxiang Hotel (9:20 on weekends and holidays) - Gubei Water Town (12:00)
.
🔔About dining
If you are a day-tripper and a solo traveler, try to avoid peak dining times because there are many people! Also, remember to buy group deals for better value! I like the bridgehead cake, snail noodles, and clay pot rice in the town~

The red leaves in Beijing's Pofengling are simply amazing! The concentration is as high as 100%! Our company team building was held here, and it was great!
The mountain is covered with colorful trees, with red, yellow, and green interwoven, forming a colorful autumn picture.
Let me share with you the travel route (especially suitable for people like me who don't like walking but want to take photos and enjoy the red leaves): It is recommended to take the cable car one way, you can see the panoramic view and Yunhu Lake.
It is less than 2 km downhill from Yunhu Lake. I chose to take photos while going downhill. The wooden plank road is hidden among the red leaves, like a gorgeous palette. It takes less than 1 hour to go downhill easily.
It looks like this beautiful scenery will last for another week, so come on!
Ticket: 50
Cable car: 80 one way, 150 round trip
Transportation: Self-driving, you can park your car in parking lot 1 or 2, and then take the free shuttle bus to the gate of the scenic area.
The snow in the Forbidden City is a story waiting to be told.
Snow falls quietly, turning the ancient Forbidden City into a beautiful painting.
The snow covers the red walls, yellow tiles, and painted beams of the Forbidden City. The red walls are even more vibrant against the white snow, as if they have traveled through time to tell the story of the past. The snow on the golden glazed tiles is as soft as cotton, adding a touch of softness and tranquility to the solemn palace.
As you walk into the Forbidden City, snowflakes fall like dancing fairies. The square in front of the Hall of Supreme Harmony is white, empty, and quiet. It has witnessed countless important ceremonies, and now, in the embrace of snowflakes, it looks solemn and mysterious.
The white marble railings are covered with snow, like a white ribbon around the palace. The carvings on the railings are faintly visible in the snow, and the exquisite patterns seem to tell ancient stories. The thin ice on the Golden Water River is covered with snowflakes, creating ripples.
Walking through the alleys of the Forbidden City is like being in a fairy tale world. The ancient palace gates are closed, and the snow on the door rings is like a mark of time. The trees on both sides of the alleys are covered in silver, and the snowflakes on the branches are crystal clear. Occasionally, a few snowflakes fall like scattered petals.
The snow in the Forbidden City is a perfect blend of history and nature. It brings new life and charm to the ancient palace, making people fall in love with it. In this white world, time seems to stand still, and people can forget the hustle and bustle of the world and enjoy the beauty of history and nature.
The Forbidden City after the snow is like a poem, a painting, a dream, and an illusion. It is a witness of time, a symbol of beauty, and a treasure of traditional Chinese culture. In this silver world, we seem to hear the echoes of history and see the wisdom and talent of the ancients. Let us cherish this beauty and keep the snow in the Forbidden City in our memories forever.
