Awesome steam train experience for the kids as they can get to put their legs out and enjoy the breeze as the train is quite slow moving. its quite safe for the kids but adult supervision is encourgaed. Easy to book the tickets online and checking in is a breeze too. Along the way we saw alot of natural sceneries and its a nice ride to lakeside station. all in, its a worthwhile experience.

Lakeside is a great stop for families and parents. There are clean facilities, a café for coffee and snacks, picnic areas, and short, flat walking paths that are comfortable for seniors. We spent time by the lake, had lunch, and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings without feeling the need to rush back. Overall, this is a perfect half day or day trip if you are travelling with parents or visitors. It is gentle, well run, and uniquely Australian.
