#springitinerary If it wasn’t for my dad’s friend organizing the trip, I might never have discovered that Malaysia has such a breathtaking place! Located in Gerik, Perak, this tropical rainforest is said by the captain to be even older than the Amazon! 🌳✨ We traveled on a boat captained by Kenny, a Chinese Malaysian captain. The boat sets sail with a minimum of 32 people. The first floor is a common area where you can sing karaoke, play cards, or mahjong 🎤🃏, the second floor has rooms and bathrooms. There are 11 rooms in total, each sleeping 4 people. On the third floor is a loft where you can sit back and admire the starry night sky 🌌✨. Besides relaxing on the boat, the captain arranges outdoor activities like hiking to waterfalls, bamboo rafting, and kayaking 🛶🌊. With no phone signal, you can truly unwind and enjoy nature’s sounds — especially the morning bird calls 🐦. At night, sip a drink and gaze at the stars — it’s a magical experience without any city stress or rush, just peaceful self-reflection and excitement for four delicious meals a day (I’m a foodie, after all! 😋🍽️). Interestingly, about 70% of the guests here are Western tourists — locals are actually the minority! 🌳 About Royal Belum Located in Perak, Royal Belum belongs to the Sultanate of Perak. Its most striking feature is Tasik Temenggor – a massive man-made lake surrounded by one of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world, estimated to be 130 million years old! The ecosystem here remains nearly untouched 🌱 If you love nature, wildlife, and plants, this place is a dream. You might spot wild animals like elephants 🐘 and the Malayan gaur, and even stay on a boathouse or go for night jungle expeditions! 🌌 🛌 Stay & Food Experience We stayed in a room that costs RM700 per night, which includes breakfast (but not dinner). They also have an infinity pool with a view 🌊✨ You can dine at the resort’s restaurant — prices are similar to average restaurants in KL, but the food here is really delicious, especially the satay 😋 (even if it’s a bit pricey). 💡 Pro tip: Rooms often have discounts during Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, and school holidays — check their [official website] for promotions! The Royal Belum State Park is the National natural heritage site in Malaysia that includes areas of pristine tropical rainforest and rivers of more than 130 million years old.
