· If you’re hungry, grab fresh local snacks at “Waroeng Kopi Beringin” near Gate 3, or try the mini marts for quick bites.

A Proper Italian Coffee Start Before Takeoff ☕✈️
Stopped by Illy Café at the international airside for breakfast before my flight, and it was honestly a great way to start the morning. The café has a calm, clean, and premium vibe, perfect when you want something reliable and not rushed before boarding.
I ordered breakfast here and, as expected from Illy, the coffee was the highlight — smooth, aromatic, and well-balanced. Exactly the kind of coffee you want to properly wake up at the airport. The breakfast option was simple but satisfying, nicely prepared and enough to keep you full without feeling heavy.
Service was efficient and friendly, which really matters when you’re travelling. Seating was comfortable, and it felt like a nice quiet pause away from the busy terminal.
Overall, Illy Café is a solid choice for airport breakfast — good coffee, decent food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely recommended if you’re flying out from Kualanamu and want a quality start to your journey.

พักก่อนบินแบบเรียบง่ายที่ Spheire Lounge – KNO
#GetDiscountsWithoutLuck
While waiting for my flight at Medan International Airport (KNO), I had the opportunity to use the Spheire Lounge. It was a decent waiting area – not luxurious, but not cramped or too quiet.
The seating inside the lounge was well-organized and comfortable, suitable for both relaxing and using my phone while waiting. The food offered was basic, not very diverse, but sufficient to tide me over. Snacks and drinks were available, and water was readily accessible.
A real plus was the stable WiFi, which was reliable and didn't disconnect frequently, perfect for checking work, sending messages, or browsing while waiting. Another great feature was the shower facilities. For those with connecting flights or long flights, showering before boarding is very refreshing.
Overall, Spheire Lounge may not be a mind-blowing or luxurious lounge, but it's a waiting area that makes waiting less boring. It's ideal for those who want a comfortable place to relax, basic snacks, usable internet, and shower facilities before continuing their journey. 👍 #wattosann

🎟️ How to Get Your Ticket
1. After exiting the arrival hall, walk straight to the Public Transportation Building.
2. On the way, you’ll pass Roti’O (similar to RotiBoy in Malaysia but arguably even better!) — perfect snack for the ride.
3. Inside the Public Transport Building, find the ticketing machine next to the KAI desk.
4. Pay via QRIS (linked to Touch ‘n Go eWallet) or credit card.
🌾 The Train Ride Experience
· Enjoy a scenic view of lush paddy fields along the way, prepare your camera! 📸

My recent trip to Medan, I use The Airport Railink Service (ARS), a convenient train service that connects Kualanamu International Airport (KNO) to Medan City in North Sumatra. Here’s a quick guide to using this service:
· Direct & Fast: The Railink takes about 30-40 minutes, faster than by car due to minimal traffic stops.
· Comfortable & Modern: The trains are air-conditioned, clean, and equipped with comfortable seating with seat number, luggage space.
· Frequent Departures: Trains run every 30-60 minutes from early morning to evening, making it easy to plan around flights.
· City Arrival Point: The train arrives at Medan Railway Station in the city center, opposite Center Point Mall, which has nearby access to taxis, hotels, and other city transport options.
· Ticket Purchase: Tickets can be purchased online through the Railink website or app, or at ticket counters and vending machines at the airport and Medan Station.
The Airport Railink is a reliable, efficient option to travel between Kualanamu Airport and Medan City for both local and international travelers. Ideal for avoiding Medan’s traffic, especially during peak hours.

Traveler's Lounge, KL International Airport
Airport travel and transit can be so pleasurable and time well spent when using the Airport Lounge. I used Traveler'a Lounge at KL international Airport. So appreciated a nice lovely shower after walking around the Airport trying to find where the lounge, but it's worthwhile looking for one.
Unlimited hot and cold all day meal, clean bathroom (though a bit small toilet area), shower area and working with a charge station. My time was spent effectively. Instead of roaming around the airport, spend more .only on meals and coffee to find a place to sit down and work and compete with others for the charging station, The airport lounge is the way to go.

Souvenirs that can be bought at Medan Airport
I always thought it will be useful to know what souvenirs can be sold at the airport and are they more expensive or cheaper so that I can do my last min shopping if needed. Hence sharing this post for Medan airport. Medan is famous for bolu meranti and yes you can buy many of them here (all flavours/ gift packs and even the 3 flavours in one box)! Albeit slightly more expensive at 900k-1.2m, perhaps 200-300k more than outside. I will grab them here because outside is hard to find gift packs. Kueh ambon, lao pobing are also sold here. But do rmb to shop before u clear customs! Variety are way more outside customs. #travelanywhere
