🏛️ Basement Exhibition Area | A Must-See for Die-Hard LEGO Fans: LEGO's 100-Year History
Most visitors tend to miss this, but it's the soul of LEGO House!
✅ Complete LEGO Development History: From the founding of the LEGO brand in 1932, early wooden toys, the first plastic bricks in 1949, to the modern LEGO snap-fit patent in 1958, this exhibition fully recreates over 80 years of LEGO's history.
✅ Comprehensive Product Collection Wall: This wall displays all classic LEGO sets, discontinued series, limited editions, and IP collaborations from the 1950s to the present. Castles, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Ninjago, Cities, and more are all included, making it a veritable LEGO time museum.
✅ This exhibit showcases the evolution of classic minifigures and the history of LEGO brick parts, a nostalgic treat for LEGO fans. A 1-2 hour in-depth visit is recommended.
🍽️ Mini Chef | Personal Experience & Important Note
The super popular Mini Chef interactive themed restaurant is an exclusive LEGO House experience. Its unique feature is that "children lead the whole family in preparing meals," a fully immersive interactive experience. All dishes are LEGO-themed.
⚠️ Important Note: Mini Chef reservations must be made simultaneously on the official website and with your tickets!
I only booked tickets and ignored the restaurant reservation. Upon arrival, all time slots were fully booked; there were no standby slots or temporary openings. I missed out on this exclusive experience, which was a real shame.
✅ Correct Procedure: Book your Mini Chef dining time slot simultaneously with your ticket reservation. Do not plan them separately.
💡 First-hand Experience and Real Impressions
LEGO House and LEGOLAND offer completely different experiences: LEGOLAND focuses on thrilling rides and brick-themed scenes, while LEGO House is a deep pilgrimage to brick culture, creativity, and history.
The four main areas are clearly and precisely divided: Free Creation, Digital Interaction, Engineering Competition, and Art Appreciation + Video Creation. Each area has a unique focus, with no overlap in content; the historical exhibition area in the basement allows all LEGO fans to rediscover their childhood nostalgia.
The only ironclad rule: Book your tickets and Mini Chef in advance. Don't take chances, or you'll likely regret it.
Visiting Billund and checking out both LEGO House and LEGOLAND is the most complete pilgrimage to the birthplace of LEGO!
