Animal festival at Zoo Bojnice 🐫🐘

I recently attended the Animal Festival at Bojnice Zoo in Slovakia, and it was such a fun and unique experience! 🦁 The zoo itself is one of the oldest and largest in Slovakia, and the festival added a lively vibe to the day. The entrance fee was about €7, and that included access to all the regular exhibits plus the special festival events. There were animal presentations, feeding demonstrations, and interactive activities for kids, making it a perfect day for families.
One of the highlights was seeing the birds of prey show, where you could get up close to eagles and falcons. The zoo is located right next to Bojnice Castle, so after spending a few hours at the festival, I wandered over to explore the castle grounds, which made for a full and exciting day. If you’re in Bojnice during the festival, don’t miss it—it’s a fantastic mix of nature, fun, and history!

Bike trip to Bojnice Castle 🚲

I recently went on a bike trip to Bojnice Castle in Slovakia, and it was such an awesome adventure! 🚴♂️ The ride itself was scenic, with beautiful views of the Slovak countryside, and getting to see the castle appear on the horizon was like stepping into a fairy tale. The entrance fee to the castle was around €10, and it was worth every cent. Bojnice Castle is one of the most stunning castles I’ve ever visited, with its medieval architecture, beautiful interiors, and rich history.
After touring the castle, I spent some time in the nearby Bojnice Zoo, which is just a short walk away and a great spot for a relaxing afternoon. I also explored the lovely town of Bojnice, filled with cute cafes and great places to grab a snack after the ride. If you’re into biking and history, this trip is an absolute must!

Visited a fairytale castle in Slovakia
I visited Bojnice Castle in Slovakia, which is one of the top three fairytale castles in my mind. Built before 1113, it was closed on Sundays 😓, so I could only walk around the perimeter. There is a moat outside the castle. Unfortunately, it was drizzling that day, so the photos turned out quite dark. I also saw an old woman with an owl outside the castle. Unfortunately, due to the language barrier, no one talked to her, so I couldn't tell if she was selling the owl, charging for photos, or just taking a walk with it.
🗓️Itinerary: I took a train from Bratislava N. Mesto station to Prievidza. After getting off, I saw a bus stop. I asked some students, and they let me follow them onto the bus. However, the driver didn't accept cash, and I only had EUR 10. The driver didn't speak English, and the students only knew basic English. So, it was left unresolved. I didn't even check the bus number. But when I noticed the route deviating on Google Maps, I got off immediately. I walked another 15 minutes on my own. When leaving, I walked to the train station myself. According to Google Maps, it should take 45 minutes, but I took nearly two hours as I stopped to take photos, wandered into a forest, and went shopping at a supermarket. Remember to check the train schedule carefully, as there are only one or two trains per day.
