Caesarea National Park, an ancient city spread across the Mediterranean Sea
#MarchTravelEvent
I visited Caesarea National Park, a place I really wanted to see during my trip to Israel. Spread out along the Mediterranean Sea, this place was not just a simple ruin site, but an ancient city where time seemed to stand still.
As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a harmony of vast ruins and the blue Mediterranean Sea. It was truly fascinating and impressive to see such magnificent ruins right next to the ocean. In particular, the Roman-era amphitheater and harbor ruins were substantial in scale, allowing me to feel the prosperity of that era firsthand.
As I walked slowly around the ruins, the sea view was visible everywhere, so it wasn't boring at all. Walking through an ancient city while listening to the sound of the waves felt like a special experience, as it is not something you can do often.
With the cool Mediterranean breeze and the feeling of walking through history, it was one of the most memorable places of my trip. If you want to experience both the scenery and history beyond just a simple tourist attraction, I highly recommend this place.
✔️Overwhelming scenery of Roman ruins harmonizing with the Mediterranean
✔️A historical site where you can see the traces of an ancient port city intact
✔️A special experience enjoying both the sea and the ruins simultaneously

Kayseri, the ancient city on the Mediterranean Sea, the filming location for the movie Ben-Hur
#2026New Year's Greetings
Located on the Mediterranean coast of Israel, Kayseri is an ancient city known as the filming location for the movie Ben-Hur. The moment I saw the magnificent ruins against the backdrop of the azure sea, I felt as if I had stepped into a scene from a movie.
This was a thriving port city during the ancient Roman era, and various ruins, including an amphitheater, a hippodrome (chapel stadium), temples, and city walls, are relatively well-preserved. The amphitheater, facing the sea, is particularly impressive, as it's in such good condition that performances are still held there. Walking through the ruins while listening to the sound of the waves creates an atmosphere unlike any other city.
As I gazed at the Hippodrome, recalling the chariot race scene from Ben-Hur, I could no longer help but nod in agreement as to why this place was chosen as the filming location. The vast expanse and the remnants of the ancient city blended together to create a grand scale.

Kayseri, Israel, ancient ruins spread over the sea
#2026New Year's Greetings
Located on Israel's Mediterranean coast, Kayseri is a special place where the sea and ancient ruins come together. The moment I encountered the ruins against the azure Mediterranean backdrop, I felt as if I had traveled back in time.
This was a thriving port city during the ancient Roman era, and today, various ruins, including an amphitheater, temples, and the remains of a bathhouse, remain well-preserved. The amphitheater, located right next to the sea, is particularly impressive, as it remains in pristine condition and still hosts performances. Walking through the ancient ruins while listening to the sound of the waves is a truly unique experience.
The most striking sight was the port ruins still standing above the sea. The stone columns and remains of the walls visible through the blue waters testify to the city's once prosperous trading city. On clear days, the harmony of the sea and the ruins is even more beautiful, making for a truly photogenic experience.
Kayseri, a place where you can experience both history and nature, is a must-see during your trip to Israel.

Kayseri National Park, a little Rome in Israel
#2026New Year's Greetings
If I had to pick the most impressive historical site during my trip to Israel, it would undoubtedly be Caesarea National Park. Known as "Gaesharah" in Hebrew, it's the ruins of an ancient Roman city right next to the Mediterranean Sea. The fusion of the sea and the ruins was truly special.
This city flourished as a port during the Roman era and is famous for its artificial harbor built by Herod the Great. It was said to have been a revolutionary port for its time. While only ruins remain today, gazing at the stone columns and amphitheater against the backdrop of the azure sea evokes a sense of its former splendor.
The Roman amphitheater, located right next to the sea, is a particular highlight. It's so well preserved that performances are still held there. Sitting in the auditorium, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, it felt more than just a historical site, but a living space.

Caesarea, a historic city embracing the Mediterranean Sea
#2026New Year's Greetings
I visited Caesarea, a small town on the coast of Israel. In contrast to the bustle of the big city, this place had a strikingly quiet and relaxed atmosphere.
The ancient ruins of Caesarea and the Mediterranean Sea blend seamlessly together. Rather than feeling the sheer scale of the place, I felt the tranquility unique to this small town nestled quietly by the sea. Walking along the cobblestone streets, it felt as if time itself had slowed down.
With the remnants of an ancient Roman port town, the moment I walked, I felt as if I had stepped into history.
Standing in the Caesarea Amphitheater, I could easily picture the performances and rallies that would have taken place there. Since it's still a lively venue, I was impressed by the fact that it's not just a "relic to be seen," but a living cultural space still in use today.
✔ A quiet, small-town atmosphere embraced by the Mediterranean Sea
✔ A walking trail that blends ruins and the sea
✔ A relaxed, uncrowded experience
✔ A healing city perfect for a northern and coastal itinerary
