The house of Doctor Jose Rizal
Address - Calamba, Laguna, Philippines.

Had a grea
Had a great family bonding at Nuvali Park. Aside from the fact that the light show is for free, you get to enjoy the green lush surrounding of Nuvali away from the hustle and bustle of city living. It was also a great place to introduce children to Koi fishes for feeding sessions and boat ride. Although feeds come with a price, I think it was P20 per pack ; boat ride at P40 per head. Both were only open til 5pm so you better queue early to avoid the cut off.
The LED show starts every 30mins starting 6pm onwards. Take note that it is situated at the farthest side of Nuvali called the Fields. It’s an open greenery lushed with christmas decors, an entrance of lights and christmas trees all around. Only need to improve on the site was the entrance and exit as they were a bit cramped. A possible stampede might occur when the rain gushes.
Parking wise, best to choose parking near solenad 2 or solenad 3. A long walk might be tedious if they have parked at solenad 1. For big families might suggest to bring your own packed snacks or dinner as it tends to be full for most of cafes and restaurants for big groups. Had our dinner at solenad 1 after 30minutes or so of walking.
Overall it was a different way of ushering the Yuletide season! Hopefully next year Ayala Corp. will have new and enticing offers for us to be back again.

Discover a piece of Philippine history at the Diocesan Shrine & Parish of St. John the Baptist in Calamba, Laguna. Located at 357 Burgos St, this centuries-old Roman Catholic church is not only an architectural gem, but also the iconic place where Dr. José Rizal, the country’s national hero, was baptized in 1861. Laguna’s Nighttime Wonders: Jose Rizal Shrine & Banga Plaza 🌙✨
See Calamba come alive at night! The iconic Jose Rizal Shrine glows under dreamy park lights, while Banga Plaza’s modern design creates a photogenic outdoor cultural scene. Wander beneath tall trees as soft illumination dances across heritage architecture for an unforgettable local experience.
🗺️ Route & Must-Dos:
Start at Banga Plaza (9 JP Rizal St), the heart of Calamba’s community where locals relax and socialize. Snap a shot beside the impressive Banga (clay pot)—especially magical after sunset when reflections glimmer off its sleek surfaces. Walk a short distance to the Jose Rizal Shrine (JP Rizal St), best viewed from the park at night. The lights highlight the brickwork and classic Filipino house design, casting dramatic shadows that amplify its historic spirit.
📸 Photo Tips:
Capture the Banga with modern buildings in the background for architectural contrast. At the Shrine, try close-ups of illuminated details with leafy branches framing your shot for an "insta-worthy" angle. The night setting is perfect for moody, atmospheric portraits—use the glowing park lamps to light faces naturally.
📝 Visiting Tips:
Most museums close early; plan your evening stroll after 5:00 PM for fewer crowds and cooler weather. If possible, time your visit around sunset for that golden-hour glow before the full nighttime ambiance. Banga Plaza is open all day, so you can linger here as long as you wish.
⚠️ Precautions:
Park areas are reasonably safe but always watch your belongings and keep valuables close. Paths can be uneven—wear comfortable shoes and watch out for low tree branches in the dark.
