Just found out that taking a train from Bristol, UK 🇬🇧 to visit Cardiff, the capital of Wales 🏴, takes only 50 minutes. It was definitely the right decision to come here because it truly screams Wales 😂. From the bilingual signs, the red dragon flags all over the city, to the classic old-style architecture. The first stop was Cardiff Castle, a mix of Roman and Victorian styles. Then, I strolled around Cardiff City Centre, which is full of restaurants, cafes, arcades, and plenty of artsy local shops perfect for taking beautiful photos. Nearby, there's also the Cardiff Museum, a great spot for history enthusiasts to explore the city's rich history. In the evening, I headed back to Cardiff Central Station to catch the train back to Bristol Temple Meads, wrapping up a relaxing day with the experience of cross-country train travel ❤️.

We arrived just as the rain stopped, the streets still slick, catching the last of the gray light. Cardiff Castle rose unexpected in the middle of everything ancient stone wrapped in the slow breath of centuries, its clock tower gold-tipped and watching. The kids ran ahead across the green, puddles exploding under their boots, shouting that it looked like something from a movie. They weren’t wrong. The walls were thick with stories. You could feel them. Inside, we wandered through rooms that didn’t quite belong to the same world. Ceilings painted like night skies. Hidden staircases. Carvings so intricate they felt whispered rather than built. One of the kids traced their fingers along the tiled walls and asked, “Did people really live here?” We didn’t answer right away. Because yes and also no. Places like this aren’t just lived in. They’re dreamed into. We took our time through the arcades Victorian, elegant, glass-roofed lanes tucked between stone buildings and modern shops. Music floated from somewhere, maybe a busker down Queen Street, maybe someone humming inside a cafe. We stopped for tea and warm scones, the kind that crumble when you touch them, and the kids sat quiet for once, watching people pass. Cardiff is the capital of wales and although it’s relatively small compared to other British cities it has a lot to offer visitors. My favourite thing to do in the city is visit the National Museum Of Wales, and the best thing about it a it’s totally free! Located in the civic center next to city hall it’s a short walk from the city center and its main transport hubs. It’s also very close to Cardiff castle and Bute park, two other highlights of the city. The museum currently has a full scale replica of a willy mammoth in its main hall and some temporary exhibits about photo journalism. There is also a seasonal exhibit about it the history of hip hop in Wales, very niche but interesting. The museum is famous for its art collection which was donated in the early 20th century by two of its main patrons - the ‘blue lady’ being the most famous. The painting is just back from loan and is back to being the centrepiece of the main gallery. The museum also has impressive ceramic, ornament and furniture collections which are displayed throughout the various galleries. For families and children the lower levels have an amazing natural history area that features dinosaurs really, due to the surprisingly high amount of fossils found in wales. Nice experience. Very lovely staffs. Inside is quite spacious like a mini park. Totally enjoyed the time. Guided tour is available for certain restricted part of the castle. Got a very nice panoramic view of the city from the tower. We even liked meandering the castle walls for stunning views of the castle and the courtyard. In the gift shop area, there’s also a spot were you can see the old Roman foundations dating back thousands of years and a little museum with fun pieces and wonderful staff to answer any questions. If we’re ever back in Cardiff, we’ll visit the castle again!

Modern landmarks like the Wales Millennium Centre, and serene stretches along the water made for a perfect blend of relaxation and exploration. We loved spotting boats gliding by, rare birds spotting and pausing to admire public art installations, which added a creative touch to the scenery. Didn't realise that there were so many apartments around Cardiff Bay. There are se amusements such as boating and rides depending upon the weather. Good place to click pictures and make memories. It is very approachable and has good connecting buses to the city centre if you don't drive.

Cardiff is a magical city with so much history at its centre, the castle is a very well known landmark - but a hidden gem Of Cardiff is its range of Victorian arcades. Cardiff has seen a lot of development over the last few years but it still has some very unique features with an old world charm. The arcades are beautifully restored and have lots of original Victorian features, some even have their upper balconies restored too. They feature lots of cafes, restaurants and independent stores - and on the upper levels have dentists, massage parlours and some offices too. The castle quarter arcades and the high street arcade offer the most stores, and barkers tea house in the castle arcade is KT favourite daytime spot. Across the arcade is their gin bar which is an amazing place to start your night in Cardiff. Usually used to cut through between St Mary’s and Queen street these arcades don’t get enough attention for the architectural wonders that they are! Next, I stopped by Cardiff Market. I tried a traditional Welsh cake from one of the bakery stalls, which was delicious and freshly made. After that, I walked to the National Museum Cardiff. The museum has a variety of exhibitions, including Welsh history. I especially liked the art gallery, where I saw paintings by both Welsh and international artists. The museum is free to enter, and it is a good place to learn more about the country’s culture and identity Later, I visited Cardiff Castle, which is located in the city centre. I took a short tour that explained the different periods of the castle’s history. I hope to return one day and explore more of Wales.

Hey guys, today I'm sharing my one-day itinerary in Cardiff 😆 🎈Here's my route: Starting from the train station, my first stop was the Millennium Stadium, then I headed to the castle, exited from the side of Bute Park, went to the City Hall, and then to the free National Museum. After that, I walked south to the city center, where there's a large shopping mall called Queens Arcade, with all the major brands. My friends in Exeter would be envious! Then I continued south through the mall and found a large 5-story second-hand building called P4, which has comic books and all sorts of interesting things to explore. Finally, I went to the seaside, where Cardiff Boat Tours offers stunning views. Overall, Cardiff is a big city with lots of people, beautiful attractions, and a relaxing seaside. 🍜 As for food, I visited two Chinese restaurants recommended by local friends. One is called Little Restaurant, which serves generous portions of noodles and rice. The other is Happy Gathering, which offers amazing dim sum. It opens at 12 pm and is always crowded, with a lively atmosphere. 🏨 For accommodation, I stayed for one night at the Angel Hotel opposite the castle. The facilities were quite complete, and the experience was good.
