2 hours in Brussels!
It was a rainy morning before 9am and had a flight to catch in 2 hour! Did a brief visit to the Grand Place which was merely 5 minutes away walking from the central train station. Amazingly built based on Gothic and Baroque-style architecture and it’s a Unesco World Heritage Site in the heart of Brussels. A further 4 minutes walk brought us to the famous Mannekin Pis, a statue built in 1618 depicting a little boy urinating into a small pond of fountain, was said to have saved the Brussels city from a fire by relieving himself into the gunpowder. Will definitely be back this city again for more exploration.

From France to Brussels, Grand Place.
I arrived in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, from Lille in northern France by TGV (inoui) in about 30 minutes. Although it was unfortunately raining, the compact city made it easy to explore on foot. The central Grand Place, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is surrounded by historic buildings and its grandeur is overwhelming. Walking along the side streets, you can easily find many chocolate shops, the famous waffle shop Dandoy (which seemed to have pre-made waffles), and the Manneken Pis statue. Belgian fries, or frites, paired with Belgian beer were fantastic! A day is enough to fully enjoy sightseeing in Brussels, so I highly recommend it.
