The city is not big, and buses + walking are enough. 3️⃣ To get from Izmir to Cesme, navigate to Bus Cemse and take a bus. The ticket price is 190 lira, and the journey takes about 1 hour. To get from Cesme to Alacati, take a minibus at the bus stop on the side of the road. The ticket price is 45 lira, and the journey takes about 10 minutes. Cesme has amazing sandy beaches with clear water and dive sites. we walked beside the port watched cool modern boates. then we went to a beach there to swim . and after that had a delicious traditional food in a restaurant there. We are traveling to Cesme, Izmir to attend one of our friends wedding which was happened in another resort hotel next to Ilica Hotel. However, we choose to stay at Ilica Hotel because it is a family friendly resort hotel with lots of facilities for kids! We stayed at one of the beach bungalow where it is equipped with one bedroom, living room, toilet and balcony where we can see the beach. There are plenty of space for my son to play as it is quite spacious. Within few steps from our bungalow, we can make sand castle in the beach and swim in the sea. If you want to have “child free” time, you can book a timeslot in their kids club, which have different type of activity like story reading, movie, etc. Furthermore as guests of Ilica Hotel, you will get complimentary tickets to the Aqua Toy City (waterpark) which is directly located next to the hotel. They have pools for children, slides for adults, lazy river, and cafe/ restaurant inside. The booking also come with a buffet breakfast where they serve combination of continental breakfast and turkish food. I loved their menemen (turkish style omellety) and spinach-cheese borek! Getting There - The nearest big airport is Izmir. From Izmir you can either hire a taxi( expensive) or take a mini bus into ALacati. Attractions - ALacati is an Instagram haven with unique restaurant, bars, cafes, and shops. Everything is a bit pricier in this region compared to less touristic areas however if your currency is high you won’t think so. remember to bargain when you shop :) Hotels - I would recommend you to stay a few days at the centre of ALacati in a boutique hotel. there are many bohemian villas converted into hotels. Food & Restaurants - Turkish food is amazing however there is a great selection of western restaurants where you can find your usual favourite meals. Shopping - like I mentioned before there is a great selection of shops especially if you are the bohemian type, you will love the accessories and clothes. Don’t forget to bargain! #uniquelodging

A distinguished young man, he married his master's daughter and enlisted in the Janissaries when he grew up. He then moved to Algeria, arriving there in the most flamboyant manner, on a Spanish ship captured en route, immediately winning him esteem. From 1761 to 1789, he served in the Ottoman navy in the highest positions. In 1770, his ship was the only one to survive the Battle of Chesme, when, on the orders of the Russian Count Alexei Orlov, the Turkish ships were set ablaze. But Hasan Pasha's greatest achievement was that, a year after the Battle of Chesma, when the Russians besieged the island of Lemnos, he was able to defend it with the help of all the "scum you can spare"—prisoners from Ottoman prisons and vagrants. Hasan Pasha's mansion stood near the Kasım Pasha pier. In the evenings, he loved to stroll the streets there, leading a real lion on a chain, much to the horror of the locals, who called him a restless Algerian! He once took this lion with him to a meeting of viziers at Topkapı Palace. All the viziers and their assistants present jumped out of the windows, and one even broke their necks. Hasan Pasha took the lion as a cub, raised it, and the animal became tame to its master. This situation attracted the attention of artists in Europe, who painted numerous pictures of the pasha and his pet lion. Çeşme is a town two hours' drive from Izmir. It's a great option for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city and get back to their home. The most convenient way to get to Çeşme is by car. But I can assure you, the public bus is also quite comfortable. I highly recommend strolling along the local promenade and marina, shopping for jewelry and clothing made from natural fabrics from local artisans, having a Greek-style coffee at Starbucks, and definitely staying in a hotel with a sea view. We chose The Local House Ayasaranda, based on a recommendation from trip. We weren't disappointed: stunning views, a decent breakfast, and friendly staff. Before going, I only planned the driving route, roughly Istanbul - Izmir - Fethiye - Kas Town - Cappadocia - Istanbul. After arriving, I found that buying a museum pass was more cost-effective, so it turned into a route to make the pass worthwhile. D1: Arrive at Istanbul Airport in the morning, stay near Taksim Square, find a car rental shop nearby, Sixt next to the Hilton Hotel (pick up the car early the next day). During the day, city walk in the old town. In the evening, take a Bosphorus Strait sunset cruise. D2: Istanbul - Izmir - Cesme Town - Selçuk. The most tiring day. First head to Izmir to check in at the iconic Konak Clock Tower. Since there was no parking, went to Cesme instead. In the evening, visited Cesme Castle, which offers a view of Greece across the sea. The castle closes promptly at 5 pm, so missed it. Walked around the town and seaside, very few people. Originally planned to stay in Cesme or Izmir that night, but considering the next day’s big attractions Ephesus and Pamukkale, went straight to Selçuk near Ephesus that night. Suggestion: Skip Izmir (difficult parking, expensive parking fees, traffic jams) and Cesme Town (too far, out of the way, one hour one way, similar scenery, Greek style), and go directly to Selçuk to stay to avoid exhaustion. Day 3: Selçuk - Ephesus - Pamukkale - Denizli. In the morning, bought a museum pass at the Ephesus ruins, toured the ruins, had lunch at the Ephesus Museum, and skipped the St. John’s Basilica on the hill. In the afternoon, went to Pamukkale on the mountain. It rained and was very cold, and the scenic area is very large, so didn’t explore much. Stayed in the city of Denizli at the foot of the mountain that night. Day 4: Denizli - Fethiye - D400 Thrilling Night Road - Near Kas Town. Departed in the morning for Fethiye, went straight to Oludeniz Beach to book paragliding for the day. Arrived at 1 pm and booked a 4 pm paragliding session for 90 euros per person at the first shop at the beach entrance. Must keep an empty stomach before paragliding. At 4 pm, took a car with the instructor to the mountaintop over 1700 meters high to prepare for takeoff. The mountain road was fast and dizzying even before flying; after flying, even more dizzy. After resting, set off in the evening along D400 to Kas Town. The night road was really hard to drive, especially the counterclockwise D400, the most beautiful road, with almost no streetlights. The road was dark, the mountain was dark, and the sea by the cliff was even darker. Stopped at a small town 20 km from Kas to eat and stay overnight, planning to visit Kas the next day. First saw a lively place full of people singing and dancing, intending to experience the local atmosphere, but it was a wedding. Then used Google Maps to find a flatbread restaurant. The accommodation was a guesthouse recommended by the restaurant waiter. Day 5: Kas - Myra Ancient City - Aspendos Ancient Theater - Side Ancient City - Manavgat. The weather was great. First, circled the island next to Kas Town, then strolled around the town. Parking was inconvenient, took a few photos and left. If you have been to Greece, you can skip Kas. At noon, visited Myra Ancient City, a representative of Lycian civilization. Nearby is St. Nicholas Church with exquisite murals, the home of Santa Claus, worth seeing. In the afternoon, visited Aspendos Ancient Theater (the best-preserved ancient theater with a capacity of 15,000). Sometimes there are performances in the evening. Before dusk, went to Side Ancient City to see the Apollo Temple ruins. The Side scenic area is much larger than expected and crowded. Stayed overnight in Manavgat city. Day 6: Manavgat - Konya - Cappadocia. In the morning, sped along mountain roads, feeling like racing in a game. Arrived in Konya at noon, visited the Mevlana Museum (Rumi’s tomb), then started the wasteland tour of Cappadocia. Arrived in Cappadocia in the evening and went straight to the Goreme Open-Air Museum (Dark Church) to check in. Walked around Goreme town at night, ate local specialty pot beef, and stayed in a cave hotel in Uchisar town. Day 7: Goreme. Drove at 5 am to Love Valley to watch hot air balloons and see the sunrise, then went back to catch up on sleep. After breakfast, started the museum pass tour: Derinkuyu Underground City, Kaymakli Underground City, Ihlara Valley, Selime Monastery (worth seeing). The underground cities are tiring; one is enough. Day 8: Cappadocia - Ankara - Istanbul. Another day of rushing. Arrived in the capital Ankara at noon, visited Ataturk Mausoleum and Anatolian Civilizations Museum. Arrived in Istanbul in the evening, driving a total of 7 to 8 hours. Day 9: Istanbul city walk. Returned the car in the morning, having driven a total of 3,080 km. Visited Galata Tower, and in the afternoon visited the most expensive ticketed Topkapi Palace, ending the museum tour, which was worth the price. In the evening, watched the Whirling Dervishes, shopped, and had a Turkish Ocakbasi barbecue dinner. Day 10: Return trip.

The Cesme castle is stunning in real life and highly recommend to visit in the morning when you get to see the castle in it’s full glamour and the sea in the deepest shade of blue. 🌊 There is a paid entrance fee to the castle but it’s totally worth paying for as you get to see a bird’s eye view of the entire Cesme town and the beautiful sea. There is also a museum inside to learn about this town’s rich history. Make sure you do a half day or full day trip to Cesme if you happen to visit Izmir or other parts of Türkiye! 😎😎😎

During these days in Çeşme, both my eyes and soul were soaked in the blue of the Aegean Sea 💙. Staying at the Dalian Suite Hotel, opening the floor-to-ceiling window reveals the sunrise over the Aegean Sea 🌅. The orange morning light wrapped in the blue of the sea 🔵 makes every breath filled with the romantic scent of sea salt. In the evening, rushing to Çeşme Castle to watch the sunset, the orange-golden sun sets the clouds ablaze like cotton candy, and the sea breeze carries the warmth of the setting sun, even the shadows are soaked in tenderness 🌇. When wading in the water by the sea, I finally understood that "the ocean is too blue" is not a figure of speech; it’s that your eyes 👀 really get dazzled by the blue! The waves 🌊 push sparkling light to my feet, making me feel like I’m soaking in chilled sparkling water. Çeşme is a place where you don’t need to look for attractions; every stroll is a painting. I suggest engraving "Truly Beautiful" right into its name!

This area is called Cesme, which is quite far from the city, about 1 hour away. But the view is different, it's so beautiful and quiet (very local vibe). There are also some luxury hotels here. Open the window to streets covered with bougainvillea. In the morning, have a cup of Turkish coffee at the port, then walk to the old town of Alacati—where the cobblestone streets, old bookstores, and garden restaurants offer the scent of sunshine and wind at every corner. At noon, sit down at a seafood restaurant by the port, order grilled octopus and a glass of Rakı, listen to the sound of boats docking, and even time seems to slow down. If you want to take photos, go to Windmill Hill to overlook the whole town, the moment when the blue roofs meet the sea is Çeşme’s gentlest hue. The evening breeze is perfect for a walk, from the beach back to the old town, watching the sky slowly turn pink. Music starts playing from the street bars, people begin to raise their glasses, chat, and laugh— At that moment, you’ll understand that romance is never about a specific place, but about when you stop and see the light shining on life.
