This is Wat Tham Chaeng — a place people visit for exactly one reason. A massive snake. It looks absolutely surreal. Gigantic, vibrantly colored, coiled up, and looking as if it just slithered right out of the mountain. It looks big from right underneath it, but once you step back a bit — you truly grasp its sheer scale. This is a Naga — a mythical serpent in Buddhism, revered as a protector and a symbol of strength. You'll see these figures all over Thailand, but the one here is seriously colossal. The site itself is pretty minimalist: no crowds no chaos just an open space by the mountain and this imposing serpent And that’s exactly why it makes such a powerful impact. There are no distractions. Long story short: this is one of those quirky, off-the-beaten-path spots that make exploring Thailand so worth it. Because it's definitely not something you expect to stumble upon.

Wat Huai Sai Tai is one of the most unusual temples near Hua Hin. At first glance, it looks like an ordinary Thai temple... until you see the enormous monk. ⸻ 📍 Location It is north of Hua Hin, but administratively this is already Phetchaburi. ⸻ 🧠 A bit of history · founded in 1967 · by the monk Luang Po To (Noi) · built on family land Mae Chi (Buddhist nuns) live on the grounds and take part in the life and upkeep of the temple. ⸻ ✨ What makes it special The main reason to come here: 👉 the giant statue of the monk Luang Po Thong Suk You walk inside and literally find yourself next to him on different levels. ⸻ 🏯 What is unusual here · a building with a golden chedi on top · you can go up through several floors · each level gives you a new angle of the statue 👉 on the third floor, the monk’s face is already at eye level and looks incredibly lifelike despite its scale ⸻ 👀 Atmosphere · few tourists · peaceful ⸻ 🤔 Is it worth going? 👉 yes, if you want to see something out of the ordinary 👉 it works great as a stop along the way This is one of those places where you expect nothing special... and end up with a real wow factor.

After working tirelessly throughout the year, I decided to take a break and spend a night by the sea. This is a place I highly recommend. I stayed in a Pool Villa, a two-story villa by the sea. The upper floor is a living room, while the lower floor is the bedroom. The highlight is the private see-through glass pool with a stunning view of the sea, separated only by a road. I recommend ordering Afternoon Tea to enjoy—it perfectly complements the atmosphere. The room itself is incredibly spacious and fully equipped with amenities. It’s a room I absolutely loved. Now, let’s take a look at the hotel’s ambiance. Besides the Pool Villas, there are various other room types to choose from. The hotel also features a large communal swimming pool, ideal for family relaxation and fun. For dinner, I dined at Aqua Bar near the Sun Bath area. It’s a seaside restaurant offering both Thai and international cuisine. I opted for Thai dishes, and they were absolutely delicious. I must say, this place left a great impression on me. I give it a perfect score of ten. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is excellent, and the sea is beautiful. It’s the perfect place to recharge and relax for a night or two. A seaside accommodation in Hua Hin that you’ll fall in love with every time you visit Mida De Sea Hua Hin Hello everyone, for this trip I’d like to recommend a place to stay in Hua Hin. It’s a place I’ve returned to for another stay. The hotel is designed in a Modern Contemporary style, giving off a relaxing vibe like staying in a private vacation condo with full amenities. One of the highlights I absolutely love is the swimming pool that stretches along the building of the guest rooms. The building itself is painted in a soft white tone, beautifully contrasting with the blue of the pool. I highly recommend visiting the pool in the late morning when the lighting is especially stunning. Additionally, this place offers complete facilities, including a restaurant for dinner serving both Thai and Italian cuisine, along with delicious drinks. They also provide shuttle service to the beach. I must say, this is one of the most charming accommodations, perfect for a relaxing holiday.

Privacy: This is a single-unit pool villa, emphasizing privacy. It's ideal for small families or groups of friends who want a private space for gatherings. ✅ Impressive Highlights Private Pool: A good-sized swimming pool is located in the center or in front of the house, allowing you to access the water whenever you want. It's also a beautiful spot for photos. Complete Amenities: The house has a living room area, a kitchen with basic cooking equipment, and a BBQ grill, perfect for evening parties. Cleanliness and Newness: As the villa is meticulously maintained, the cleanliness of the bedding and common areas is of a very high standard. Close to the Sea: Although the house isn't directly on the beach, it's a short drive or walk from Chao Samran Beach.

A half-day itinerary for those who want to get out of Hua Hin, see something interesting, but still have enough energy for an afternoon nap and evening rest 😌 🕌 Mrigadayavan Palace The royal summer palace, built in the 1920s for King Rama VI. It's very light and airy, built entirely on stilts and with long galleries. Admission to the park and lower floors is 90 baht, and to the upper royal floors is 350 baht. We only stayed on the lower level, and that was enough to get a feel for the atmosphere. But if you don't mind spending some money, I'd recommend getting a ticket to the upper level as well. Servants once walked downstairs, but the most interesting and beautiful things were on the royal floor. While you're exploring, don't miss the library! It's surrounded by greenery, making it easy to miss. Musicians also occasionally play traditional Thai music in the main halls, which is a nice bonus. 🌊 Had Puek Tian A beach with a statue, quite famous in the area. This place is associated with the Thai epic tale of the giant and the mermaid, hence the unusual sculpture. It's a bit of a drive from Hua Hin. If you're looking for unusual photos, it's fine. Otherwise, I didn't find much point in making the long trip here. It was more of a check-in point and a couple of shots for my feed. 🐘 Wat Na Yang A small temple with history that feels very alive. There's a glamorous pink elephant and a large, realistic seated monk. The temple itself is cozy, with walls peeling down to the bricks in places, creating beautiful pictures. It feels more about the atmosphere and the sense of time than polished decorations. That's exactly what I liked. 🦇 Bats View Point Entrance fee: 50 baht. Mice fly out slightly to the left of the mountain at sunset; for us, it was around 6:20 PM 🌅 I was expecting something more spectacular, but they flew out in a thin stream, and lasted for a very long time, about 15 minutes for sure. Birds were chasing them, and that was also captivating 🐦 Overall, it's a nice place to sit, relax after a day of travel, and just watch the sunset with a beautiful view. In addition to the ticket, they give you free water, there's a restroom, and a small area for walking 🚶♀️💧 If you want to fully enjoy the whole day trip, I recommend also checking out the places we didn't have the energy for: Khao Na Khwang Cave 🕳️ A small cave for those who like to peer deep into the mountain. Atmospheric, a little adventurous, and a cool stop along the way. Khao Nang Panthurat Forest Park 🌿⛰️ A green park with paths and cliffs. A place for a quiet stroll in nature when you just want to take a stroll and breathe in the fresh air. Wat Tham Chaeng A temple in a cave. The lobby design is almost like a mini-museum, with its spiral staircase, stone chairs, and swimming pool – perfect for taking photos while waiting to check in. As for the rooms, the Baba Grand Ocean Suite lives up to its name! It's spacious, with a stunning ocean-facing balcony. Just relaxing on the balcony is pure bliss. The bathroom is fantastic, with a relaxing bathtub 🛁 The swimming pool downstairs is perfect for kids, featuring an inflatable slide. There's a walkway connecting to the beachfront restaurant. The wind was strong and the sky was clear – another wonderful day with great ambiance. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of food, from Thai dishes like fried rice, stir-fried curry, rice porridge, and various egg dishes, to international options such as Egg Benedict and sourdough bread with generous toppings, and a huge salad bar. The rooms here are truly worth the price. You pay a reasonable amount but receive top-notch quality. We stayed in the Deluxe Ocean View room, which was spacious, clean, and fully equipped with amenities. It also has a private balcony offering views of both the pool and the stunning sea. On the beachfront, there are both a restaurant and a chic beach bar. Upon check-in, you'll receive a welcome drink coupon that you can redeem at the beach bar. We recommend having dinner at the Sands restaurant by the sea. The evening light is beautiful, creating a romantic atmosphere, and the food is delicious. For breakfast, we dined at the Pearl restaurant, which offers a buffet with a wide variety of dishes, including Thai, Asian, and international cuisine. There's also a kids' food section. The food is tasty, and the restaurant has a pleasant ambiance by the pool, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Phueng Phet Restaurant 🥘 Location: Near Phetchaburi city center Highlights: My family and I always eat here whenever we're in town. The food is so delicious! Almost every dish is a signature item. Rating: 10/10 3. Wat Huay Mongkol Location: This temple is in Hua Hin, about a 30-minute drive from the restaurant. Highlights: My family loves to come here to pay respects.
