1. There weren't many people, so we got our tickets quickly. We bought a package including rafting at the window, which cost CNY 129 per adult. In addition to rafting, the package also included: admission, sightseeing bus, glass bridge, dry slide, zip line, swing bridge, and one of the four high-altitude challenge areas (you can choose to walk on a wooden board, glass, chain, or bicycle on the other side of the river);
2. Overall, the service was good. The driver told us how to play according to the items included in our tickets and dropped us off at the corresponding location;
3. Staff took photos for us on the glass bridge and zip line and gave us a free small photo (but the quality was poor, as it was taken with a landline camera). A large photo with a frame cost CNY 25, and a photo alone cost CNY 15;
4. Rafting is usually the last activity. Swimsuits, towels, and other items are available for sale. We bought a swimsuit for a child for CNY 40, which was acceptable. Adults are advised to bring their own clothes and store their belongings with the staff before rafting. The scenic area will help transport them to the end of the rafting course. There are changing rooms at the start and end of the course, which are clean and convenient;
5. Although rafting is cool, the sun is still strong. By the way, the water is a little muddy now, probably because it's the flood season. Also, we didn't seem to finish the course. When we reached the so-called end, we could have continued rafting, but it was either temporarily closed or not fully completed;
6. Dining: There are snack stalls selling cold noodles, cold skin noodles, cold jelly noodles, fried potatoes, grilled sausages, etc. The prices are not expensive. Cold skin noodles cost CNY 10 per serving, and I think they taste good.

- Jade Corridor: As a landmark attraction of Shunan Bamboo Sea, it showcases the natural attributes of the Bamboo Sea to people, very beautiful. You can climb the nearby Guanhai Tower to enjoy the magnificent beauty.
- Sea in the Sea: Covering an area of 60 acres, the sea surface is wide, and you can row a bamboo raft, which is a good experience.
- Colorful Waterfall: On sunny days, the stream flowing out of the dense forest is divided into four levels down the cliff, with a drop of more than 200 meters. You can see its mist for several feet. When the sunlight passes through the mist, you can see a colorful rainbow. But this time, due to fog, the waterfall was basically invisible.
- Dining: Tasted the special bamboo feast at a restaurant near the Jade Corridor. The bamboo-smoked bacon was very fragrant and delicious, the stir-fried bamboo shoots, egg and tripe platter tasted good, with a smooth texture, worth trying.
- Cableway Choice: There are two cableways in the scenic area. The Bamboo Sea Sightseeing Cableway costs 50 yuan per person for a one-way trip and 75 yuan per person for a round trip; the Grand Canyon Cableway costs 20 yuan per person for a one-way trip and 30 yuan per person for a round trip. The destinations, number of passengers, and lengths of the two cableways are different. This time, we chose the 30 yuan round-trip Grand Canyon Cableway, which went directly to the Jade Corridor.
4. Precautions
- If you want to visit all the attractions, it is best to find a homestay in the scenic area during the off-season and play slowly for a few days.
- It is unlikely to finish the tour in one day, and many attractions require walking up and down stairs, which may be physically exhausting.

June 25-28, a perfect three-day trip to Yibin
This trip to Yibin was originally planned to visit many places... but unexpectedly, most of the time was spent at the homestay booked by my husband. However, the three places in Yibin worth visiting, the Bamboo Sea of Southern Shu, Lizhuang Ancient Town, and the Confluence of the Three Rivers, were not missed.
1. On the 25th, took the high-speed train to Yibin, then rented a car and drove for 50 minutes straight to the homestay, checked into the Yibin Changning Shushan Nan Guesthouse.
2. On the 26th, drove 20 minutes from the homestay to reach the Bamboo Sea of Southern Shu - the most beautiful bamboo forest in southern Sichuan - the filming location of 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'. Personally, I feel that visiting on a rainy day adds to the experience - since we drove ourselves, it was more convenient. We chose the Emerald Corridor, Xianyu Cave, Longyin Temple, and the glass walkway recommended by netizens. Returned to the homestay around 4 pm to rest.
3. On the 27th, chose the best-tasting noodles in the small town recommended by the homestay owner... then decided to go back to the homestay to lie flat and rest for a day - this was the most satisfying part of the trip... various stunning and very photogenic spots, no need to say more, just look at the pictures.
4. On the 28th, departed from the homestay - Lizhuang Ancient Town - Yibin Three Rivers Confluence, Guanying Ancient Street - returned the car and headed back.

🌟 The scenic area is huge, and it's almost impossible to finish in one day without driving or chartering a car! The distance between spots is also very far! Walking is not an option, and it's hard to wait for the shuttle service in the park!
My route was:
Enter from the East Gate 🚪 and head straight to Guanyuntai (you can 👀 see the sea of clouds in the morning) — then to the Emerald Corridor (just a path with bamboo on both sides) —— then to Guanhai Tower (the attic is very high, the scenery is still very beautiful) —— then to Longyin Temple (you can have lunch right at the temple gate) —— after lunch, climb Longyin Temple (it's tough, too many stairs) —— from Longyin Temple, go to Sea in the Sea 🌊 (you can experience via ferrata and bamboo rafting 🚢, the rafting is self-rowed, so tiring, we didn't row back in the end and had to ask a boat to pull us back) —— then to the Colorful Flying Waterfall! Located in the southern part of Sichuan Province in China, the Shunan Bamboo Sea is famous far and wide for its vast bamboo forests and fresh air. Not only does it boast breathtaking natural scenery, but it also offers a heart-racing cable car experience. On a sunny morning, I was fortunate enough to embark on this aerial journey and experience the unique charm of the Shunan Bamboo Sea.
Upon entering the scenic area, I was immediately captivated by the layers upon layers of lush bamboo. Following the crowd, I arrived at the cable car station. Standing at the starting point and looking up, I saw two steel cables stretched between two mountain peaks, with cable cars moving slowly in the air, like strings of pearls hanging on a green scroll. A surge of excitement welled up in my heart, filled with anticipation for the upcoming aerial stroll.
After purchasing a ticket and entering the waiting area, the warm service of the staff made me feel at home. The wait wasn't long, and soon it was my turn. I stepped into the cable car, the safety door gently closed, and with a clear ring of a bell, the cable car slowly started its high-altitude journey.
As the cable car ascended, the view gradually widened. Below me were dense bamboo tips, like a green ocean, shimmering and breathtakingly beautiful. The distant mountains undulated, shrouded in mist, like a fine landscape painting. There is a little-known place near Chengdu, about a 3.5-hour drive away, where there is a vast bamboo forest covering 120 square kilometers, known as the 'Shunan Bamboo Sea'. This bamboo forest contains many varieties, with more than 400 species. The scenery of the bamboo forest is wonderful all year round, especially in summer, making it a great place to avoid the heat.

Travel Tips
👉Baishoutai: Also known as the Cloud Viewing Platform, it was used for filming the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games. After the rain in the early morning, the sea of clouds here is particularly spectacular, with excellent visibility;
👉Emerald Corridor: You can park your car at the parking lot of the Emerald Corridor. The actual corridor is not very long, and you can walk back and forth to the Guanhai Tower;
👉Guanhai Tower: This seven-story tower offers views of the sea of clouds and the distant Longyin Temple Twin Towers, although this time I didn't take the Shunan Bamboo Sea sightseeing cable car or the Grand Canyon cable car;
👉Sea in the Sea: This place was a filming location for the movie 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon', and it takes about half an hour to walk back and forth;
👉Xianyu Cave: The cliff scenery here is quite distinctive. If you only go to the Xianyu Cave area, it takes about an hour to walk back and forth, with steep stairs. It's all downstairs on the way there, and it can be tiring on the way back. If you have enough time and energy, you can consider taking a longer route from Xianyu Cave to Tianbaozhai and then to the Fairy Lake;
👉Colorful Flying Waterfall: This place is quite nice, and it takes about half an hour to walk back and forth;
👉Longyin Temple: Because I was tired from walking in Xianyu Cave earlier, I didn't climb the 319 steps to Longyin Temple.
Endless green waters, crystal clear, with 92.4% of the ground covered with plants, and dense bamboo forests so tall they block out the sun. On this land of more than 70,000 acres, Phyllostachys bamboo is everywhere. Feel the breeze through the forest and relax with the beauty of nature.

On one side of the building, there are staggered stairs that lead to the 'Bamboo Moss' cave bar 'Lolo's Hut' and a pool that gathers mountain springs below. Yibin has a place called Qidonggou, which is named for its seven cliff tomb clusters and seven beautiful streams located on both sides of the Mianxi River Gorge.
The forest coverage of the Mianxi River Gorge is over 96%, making it a rare natural oxygen bar. Not only that, due to the geographical structure of the gorge, Qidonggou is like a high-powered central air conditioning system. Even in summer, the temperature is only in the 20s, which is extremely cool.
Qidonggou also has a long history and culture. On a section of the cliff, there are 7 mysterious caves, which are cave tomb clusters from the Eastern Han Dynasty. The ancient tombs contain well-preserved murals that reflect the customs and socio-economic development of the Eastern Han period.

Entering the bamboo forest is like stepping into another world
Today I visited the South Bamboo Sea again.
Setting off in the rain and arriving on a cloudy day is a stroke of good luck ☁️
I chose to hike up the mountain instead of taking the cable car 🚠. I took the road to the first peak on the east side, from Shouxing Square to Little Bird Paradise to the 1km stone stairs up the mountain. The path before the stairs was easy to walk, but climbing the stairs was particularly tiring. I had to stop and go, and it took about an hour to finally reach the summit!
Next time I'll just take the cable car directly~ It only takes a few minutes to get to Shouxing Square, and the experience is still enjoyable!
A few small tips:
The air in the mountains after the rain is especially fresh, but there are also an extraordinary number of mosquitoes! I suggest wearing long sleeves and pants, otherwise the bites are really swollen for three days and both painful and itchy!!
There's no need to buy the meal-inclusive ticket at the entrance, just the admission ticket is fine! There's a discount if you book a day in advance!
After coming out, you can also try the Manxiang private kitchen at the entrance! I chose blindly 🙈
The set meal they offer is quite large, and I ordered some dishes separately, the taste is really good~ The landlady also thoughtfully sterilizes the bowls and chopsticks, overall it was a very happy experience.

There are many attractions in the northern part of the Bamboo Sea in Southern Sichuan, and we recommend five major attractions worth visiting.
The first is: Sea within the Sea
The Sea within the Sea is actually a lake of about 60 acres within the Bamboo Sea in Southern Sichuan. Because some ethnic minority areas are accustomed to calling large lakes 'hai zi' (sea), hence the name Sea within the Sea.
Friends who dream of martial arts can put on a harness and experience the thrill of transforming into Li Mubai or Yu Jiaolong, moving swiftly over the tips of the bamboo, soaring through the sky and diving into the earth.
The second recommended attraction for the northern route is a paradise for children—Huaxi Thirteen Bridges
There are countless streams flowing down the valleys in the Bamboo Sea in Southern Sichuan, and here the streams are full of fallen flowers, with each bridge presenting a unique view, hence the name Huaxi Thirteen Bridges.
Of course, there are more than just thirteen bridges here, there are also beautiful landscapes along the way and photo spots, among which the Panda Park is a fun place for family trips.
The 30-meter elephant slide is a challenge for oneself, and a series of amusement facilities such as swings and seesaws also sketch out a colorful playground for the children.
Continuing along the Huaxi Thirteen Bridges towards the east and the North Gate, you will come to our third recommended attraction—Colorful Flying Waterfall.
'Waterfalls fly across the southern and northern hills, almost like those of Lushan'
The springs that emerge regardless of place fill the deep and secluded bamboo sea with spiritual energy; where the mountain rocks are rugged, there are often hanging springs and flying waterfalls. Among the dozens of waterfalls with different postures in the mountains, the most spectacular is the Colorful Flying Waterfall.
In front of such a magnificent scene, descriptive words seem somewhat pale. Although the photos were not taken during the high water season, one can still catch a glimpse of the grandeur, imagining the splendor of the Milky Way falling from the sky.
On the way back to the hotel from the Colorful Flying Waterfall, you come to the highest point of the entire scenic area—Longyin Temple.
From a distance, the temple gate is above a staircase of 320 steps, majestic and imposing.
The Ancient Buddha Hall, Layman's Forest, and Vegetarian Restaurant are scattered on the north side atop the cliff, and the stele pavilion stands tall on the peak of Jiulong (Nine Dragons) Mountain. Pavilions, halls, temples, and towers are connected by corridors, forming a harmonious whole. Looking from the north, it resembles nine dragons soaring into the sky.
The architectural complex of Shangke Hall is cleverly nestled in the greenery of the ecological parking lot, complementing the majestic Nine Dragons landmark, the uphill avenue, and the stacked archway groups from below, shining together like nine dragons playing in the sea.
