Cloudy Peaks🌄
Chemor might just be Perak’s best-kept secret for stunning mountain vibes and dramatic skies 🌄. If you’re into breathtaking scenery and peaceful corners, this place delivers.
Must-See Place: Sam Sean Temple
Sam Sean Temple
Address: 231, Jalan Chak Kai, Kampung Kuala Kuang, 31200 Chemor, Perak, Malaysia
Hours: Typically open daylight hours – but go early for fewer crowds and misty mountain moods!
Why it’s epic? When I visited, gloomy skies made the distant mountains look extra mysterious. The air here feels fresh even on rainy days, and the temple’s tucked-away location means mega chill photo ops and time to just soak it all in. If you’re after cool shots, wait till the clouds get dramatic – the temple’s bright colors stand out against moody weather.
Pro tip: Pack a light rain jacket (local showers come fast!) and wear sturdy shoes for small gravel paths. Even if it rains, don’t bail – cloudy days made my pics way more atmospheric.
Getting Around: Chemor is best explored by car or Grab. The temple’s about 20 mins from Ipoh city by road.
Eat nearby: Swing by Koffee Kan near the train station for great local kopi or snacks. Grab takeaway if the rain’s heavy!
Travel Tips:
- Rainy season is June–September. Check forecasts before you go.
- No tickets needed for the temple, but bring small cash for temple donations.
- ATMs are limited; sort out your cash in Ipoh if needed.
